That awkward moment when you own a Dualtron Thunder while still being envious of the rider when watching it in action. Lol still can’t believe I own one. 😅
Awesome, really curious as to what you have planned. For most of us it seemed like the handlebars could probably use the most work. Mainly to be more comfortable, and also take advantage of more torque.
I try to get out to ride with Baesk8 a few times a month, great group of riders and a lot of fun. Let's plan a ride when I get my Dualtron in a few weeks.
AlienRides its very popular here in singapore especially the modifying scene of dualtrons, some can even reach 150km/h without problem, and some have changed batteries to 96v, 100v
hmm i see there in the start of the video you guys took the deck top off and disconnected some wires to unlock the full speed? do all the dualtrons come that way or just yours?
Question, it folds up for portability but it's incredibly heavy so toting it around isn't an option and there's probably no good way to lock it up with bike locks....how do you use it to get around?
I think it depends on your use case. Half my rides are for commuting, and about half are for pleasure. For commuting I never leave it out of sight, it costs too much for that. Even when I leave it within sight, like while sitting at a restaurant or something, I still lock it up with a decent cable lock through the handlebars. This is to mainly to give myself some extra time if I need to interrupt a thief. For going other places, I usually find places that are "stroller" friendly, and will let me bring in the scooter to leave in a corner, or a deck somewhere. It is absolutely huge, but the fun and comfort makes it worth it for me. (I bring my electric unicycle or a smaller scooter for truly portable transportation).
@@AlienRides Reason I ask is I'm looking at a dualtron 2 limited and using it as a proper commute machine to get all over the city, bring it into restaraunts/grocery stores with me and such, and looking for a way to tote it around like rolling luggage or stand it up. Might need to fabricate something like tote wheels
Yeah, Dualtron 2 /w a trolly handle set would probably be doable. Also check out the speedway series from mini motors, seem like a nice little portable version.
@@AlienRides I actually have a contact over in Singapore where these things are huge, apparently the speedways are mechanically pretty bad and rattle apart quickly, the dualtrons are way better
It did for me, and it probably could for you as well! I definitely recommend a helmet, and as much safety gear as you are comfortable with. Motorcycle gear is a good idea if you’re going to be maxing the speed.
@@AlienRides I just looked it up on the internet and unfortunately they can't ship it to Israel so I'm going to buy the nanrobot ls7. What do you think about the ls7?

The Dualtron Thunder is pretty awesome. Range at high speeds is probably as low as 40 km, but at low speeds I've heard of folks getting 100 km range. Most likely you'll get somewhere between those two.
Hi Alien Rides, I was wondering if you ever worry about the stem column of your Thunder cracking apart? I really like the Thunder -- or the Mantis Pro -- but the design with one folding column makes me very nervous. I've seen reports / photos of the stem column cracking on the Dultrons and Mantis Pro. Have you had any problems or are you concerned at all? I'm wondering if the WePeds or Currus skeletal designs are less prone to cracking at the joints. That would be my assumption but I have not data to support that belief. Thoughts?
I have some slight concern over foldable stems. The wepeds fold as well, but I do believe they have a better folding mechanism, so I would have less concern on those scooters. I think a Thunder or Mantis is probably fine as long as you leverage proper riding style. E.g., pushing forward as you accelerate, and pulling back as you brake. This will put a lot less stress on the stem and it should be safer.
I broke down. I just placed an order for the Thunder. I ride a Emove Cruiser currently. That's going to be for the GF now. I can finally come join you guys on one of your Saturday group rides. I'm down in the South Bay.

Hi 1 question, who have more speed and acceleration? Ultra or thunder? Ultra have 62v and thunder 60v so i think ultra is better ryt? And ultra 37kg vs thunder 43kg same motors so...
I believe the ultra and thunder are both 60 volt systems. That said, I think the Thunder is more powerful because the controllers provide higher amps to the motors? At least that’s what I’ve heard. Both are awesome machines for sure though.

Some will unlock it for you, and some will tell you exactly which wire you're _not supposed_ to remove ;-) It's very easy, just disconnect one wire. There's modes where you can keep the speed low if legally required.
I think it probably depends on where you buy it, but here the scooter comes street legal and is quite slow. If you take it to a race track you can detach the speed limiter cables (as seen here or in other youtube vids), which lets you get up to 50 mph. It's a ton of fun, but I'm not sure if it's a cost effective way of going that fast. Love your username btw 😂

I've got about 1,000 miles on it so far, and zero issues to date. Typical maintenance I've heard involves tire changes, new brake pads, and potential motor bearing replacements (hope I don't have to do that for a long time).
The Thunder ships with a separate remote control which you can use to turn on/off the lights with. I believe you just need to press and hold the power button on the remote control?
I actually find it quite smooth at speed, but bumps in the road definitely make it appear wobbly. It’s possible to adjust your grip and stance to prevent wobbles. Try pulling back evenly on each side of the handlebar slightly, and also a long stance, with one foot back and one foot forwards.
Also put some liquid sealant in your tire for balancing or balance with .25oz weights on the stand and it helps prevent wobble like on bikes you only perceive the wobble at 1 specific speed usually do to harmonics amplifying the wave of energy back and forth greater and greater of balance till it acctually makes you go up and down a few mm very fast and can be adjusted with balancing and liquid in the tire will naturally balance it. Just my guess though bro.

I’d like to get one, but I’m weary about whether it’d be easy or difficult to ride. I’m used to sitting down ( dirt bikes and quads ) and haven’t ever used a stand up style scooter. So needless to say if I do decide to get one, it’ll be interesting, lol.
AlienRides Yeah, I was just checking that out. I’m definitely going to get one now along with the seat. I will try it though standing up, just out of curiosity.
Hey dude! So big important question. I’ve been really enjoying my experience with my zero10x however I just need more speed and acceleration. Looking to stay under 5k . Whats the move? Rion? Dualtron thunder? Zero 11x?
I'm a fan of the Dualtron Thunder as a general all-purpose scooter. Besides that, I gotta say Rion, nothing else compares to the power. My link if you do decide on it: bit.ly/getrion
Here's a response from MMUSA on the Thunder vs Ultra. If you can swing the Thunder, you should because it's more modern/upgraded. It has: Tubeless tires, upgraded eye display, stem lighting with remote control, hydraulic disc brakes, better swappable suspension cartridges, upgraded smoother / faster motor controllers, and foldable handlebars make the Thunder a much better option than the Ultra.
@@AlienRides Wasn't expecting such a prompt reply so thank you. Would you say that the Thunder is more suited for road use (commuting) and the Ultra being more for off-road use and leisure?
@@MrFooChops I think that it really depends on what you like to ride and how. For offroad use the only thing I can see being a differentiator is that some ultras are sold with offroad tires I believe? That probably helps a ton, but I think you could change your Thunder tires as well?
@@AlienRides Yes I believe you may be able to change the Thunder tyres to off road but the clearance between the tyre and the guard I believe is still quite close, unlike the Ultra which has plenty of space for rocks to pass through.
Ah, yeah I think that was a bit of squeaking. I found out that this particular model had some bent rotors which causes squeaking while breaking. Sometimes this happens during shipping, but can be fixed. (My personal Thunder does not have any problems in this regard).
Alien Rides I was wondering how it can be fixed. If you run into that type of problem when you hear that beeping sound. How serious is the beeping sound if you were to hear it.
@@cheeveka3 I was borrowing this model, but my hunch was that the squeaking was due to a bent rotor. If that's the case, I think you can take them of and flatten them fully by putting a lot of weight on them. I'm not an expert here though. Otherwise maybe different brake pads could help.
Alien Rides I also was wondering what do mean by rotor do you mean the motors? When I hear that word I think of cooper wrapped up in a cylinder that produces electricity.😅
This is the rolls royce in the scooter world. I got a scooter before i found this baby. Now im torn apart to spend 3.5k on it or not. Where i live you get a half decent car for that price. Lol but without question the dualtron thunder is a true monster.
F. Moussa so true about the price. You’ll find a bunch of Dualtron knockoffs for much less, but they are never good as good as the authentic Dualtron brand. Also the DualtronX is coming out within a few months which will be even bigger! (And more expensive)
@@AlienRides Yes already saw the X it's around 5.5k but what a monster. I'm talking now with a company in the UK who have them on promotion. The price is 2800 British pounds plus delivery to the EU. I've ridden both and they both have their pros/cons. This is like a sports car, while the works electric is like a SUV. Both are great scooters, but for pure speed the Thunder currently wins. For offroading, works electric will probably win.
Alien Rides You know what would be awesome if Electric Works and Minimotors worked together to create one product I can only imagine how it would look like.
Slim567 I think it would be interesting for sure, but as for look, it might turn out like the DTX which is coming out soon. I still need to do a proper review video of the works electric, I’ll add that to my growing list of things to do 😅
Yes, I believe we borrowed this unit and the brakes weren't perfect. Easily fixed though by either centering the calipers on the pads, or getting better pads.
One more thing I was wondering if you could do me a favour and ask Minimotors USA if they could make a comparison video when it comes to the Speedway Scooters. I asked them but got no response.😁
Alien Rides You know now that I think about it would be interesting if they could compare the Speedway Models and Dualtron Models. Maybe compare sizes. Lol Sometimes videos certainly angles tend to make scooters look small by them selves but I noticed when you sit them next to each other there is difference. Maybe that is just me.
Which Ultra is $2k cheaper? I'm finding the ultra is currently ~$500 cheaper at most sellers. I think it's very similar to the Thunder, the Thunder just feels a bit more bulkier. I feel that the Ultra would probably suffice for most users totally fine!

@@mariusgmail670 I get that question a lot actually and it's one of the hardest to answer. Both are great scooters, if you like speed then the speedway is the clear winner at 60 volts. Try: minimotorsusa.com If you order either let me know or tell them AlienRides referred you in the order notes. Trying to get referrals a small gift, thanks!
Is it possible to get a seat option for this? I am a old fat ass.
Yes
I’d like to get one, but I’m weary about whether it’d be easy or difficult to ride. I’m used to sitting down ( dirt bikes and quads ) and haven’t ever used a stand up style scooter. So needless to say if I do decide to get one, it’ll be interesting, lol.
Chris Gunn if you can handle a dirt bike you can handle this no problem. I love standing up, but they also make and sell a chair for these as well.
AlienRides Yeah, I was just checking that out. I’m definitely going to get one now along with the seat. I will try it though standing up, just out of curiosity.
no esta disponible en la tienda ?
Disponible en www.lastmilesf.com. Muy caro 🤑
esta la dualtron ultra pero no esta la dualtron thunder en la tienda
El sitio web aún no lo tiene disponible ☹️. ☎️ o 📧 👍 😅
Whats the top speed on single motor?
I believe it's about 25-30mph or so. I'm usually in dual motor so not 100% sure.
So I'm thinking this or the wolf 11. What are your thoughts ?
Did u get either one?
If not I'd say Dualtron for the fact it's lighter with lights. Lights on lights :3
RenaNina yeah I ended up getting a dualtron thunder. It’s great! Love it
@@Camilobakes Glad it was worth the enjoyment. Nothing beats a premium company like Dualtron
Can you borrow the Dualtron 3 and test it out?
Tomos13 I would love to, I’ll try! The thunder was my first time riding one, and now I want to ride them all!
It goes 50mph compared to the dual wheel lighting which what I want
remix ddxd. If you are looking for speed, this is the scooter for you! You won’t regret it.
I need one of those to do postmates.
Corey Barnes yeah, I actually want to do the same thing. I think this could be the perfect delivery vehicle.
AlienRides what’s the range before the battery runs out?
Anywhere to buy the Thunder in Canada?
sick video dude whats the name of the song btw?
It's a royalty free song called Thunderstorm by Hanu Dixit, fitting, right? :)
@@AlienRides lmao sorry i didn't realise i already asked that
Thanks for the review. So why the Thunder and not the lighter DT3?
So there r 2 gray wire that you gotta unplug to get 50mph?
I mean 2 set of gray wire
I haven’t opened one yet, but yes, that should be correct. That’s how it was on the thunder and is most likely the same on the DTX.
@@AlienRides thank you for the quick respons
Good video🤙🏼
How much for one of these scooters? And where can I get one?
It's a bit of an older scooter now. Minimotors has some of the newer ones and we carry a wide variety of scooters on alienrides.com 👽🖖
@@AlienRides Should i buy Dualtron Thunder for 3k Canadian 2000km on itt
Cool !!!
Can't decide between Thunder and Ultra, if anyone can give me their thoughts and reasons why that would be great. Thanks
@2:03 Is that beeping from braking on the dualtron?
I saw people in signapore do aftermarket handlebars. But it's already expensive
This or the new dualtron X?
betopelotaz1 I have this and will sell mine to get the X when it comes out 😅 That thing is a beast.
All the people stuck in cars were enjoying that.
Feels great blasting by cars on a PEV, feels bad in a car watching people doing it 😅👽🖖
This is the rolls royce in the scooter world.
Hence I'm living in Switzerland and we are not in the EU the shipping cost may be quite high. If the price stays in the region I'm hoping for im gonna order this baby. Thank you for the great video made my decision much easier.
AlienRides I made the pull and got the scooter 🤪but waiting it to arrive. Looking forward to maybe make a cool video. Thank you for the video that made it so tempting 😀
@@Lion_Hamza Nice, I hope you enjoy it, I'm still loving mine! Definitely check out my Dualtron trailer video I just released if you haven't seen it, it's also a lot of fun :)
@@AlienRides great will do :) a question btw. On the Dualtron ultra people were installing magura breaks. Now the thunder has ABS would this somehow make the change of the brakes more complicated? Did you keep the original nutt breaks? Are they good?
Pays 3700 for a scooter that when you stop goes “EEEEEEEEEEEKKK!” HAHA
Hah, I think the brakes on this scooter were not adjusted properly sadly. I know how to do that now since filming, but I agree it’s annoying to do. Ok kind of liking what Weped is doing with drum brakes these days, a lot less maintenance.
Try 4Grand+ tax and that’s not including Any options or mods.
Alien Rides hey on the Rions , what headlights are they using on them?
thunder! na na naa naa naa.
Gonna make a star wars speeder bike costume for Halloween that I can wear on this......
Hah, that's an amazing idea. I'd love to do something like that but seems like a ton of work. Where are you located, maybe I could come film that project/ride 😅
@@AlienRides in Ct. Might be a bit of a ride for you. I'm trying to wake up the northeast corner into this world. Park the car. I live in the sticks but 8 miles down the road are great trails and all manner of stuff and it's cars cars and more cars.....stupid
@@AlienRides people get mad at me on my GTX and im like..look at you. One person stuck in a jeep and you can't go anywhere stuck in traffic and im free.

@@bfarm44 Yeah, passing cars stuck in traffic on an electric vehicle might be the best feeling in the world. It never gets old.
Stupid guy put foot on rear wheel , I encounter same problem rear cover dead 😭
Herve SACUTO yeah, a food rest or tow handle is very nice to have :)
es el mejor me encanta . pero lo jode todo el precio :)
Top movie 🔝🔝🔝
Better than the works electric.? Build looks skinny
I still need to do a proper review video of the works electric, I’ll add that to my growing list of things to do 😅
Alien Rides You so should what they build really looks durable. I mean you can go in the snow with those rovers it’s crazy what they can do.
RIP Shrouds shoulder
Is it me, or are the brakes squeaky?
Yes, I believe we borrowed this unit and the brakes weren't perfect. Easily fixed though by either centering the calipers on the pads, or getting better pads.
One more thing I was wondering if you could do me a favour and ask Minimotors USA if they could make a comparison video when it comes to the Speedway Scooters. I asked them but got no response.😁
Slim567 sure I can ask next time I get the chance. What did you want to compare? Speedway 4 and 5, or compared to Dualtron scooters?
Alien Rides Well I was interested in the Speedway 4 and 5 what similarities and differences are.
2:10 does this guy has a youtube channel or something ? i would like to know his amazing electric scooter ^^
Not yet, but going to work on doing a showcase of that one some day on this channel :)
@@AlienRides thanks great news.hello from france ;)
How's the ultra hold up against this for nearly 2$k cheaper?
Which Ultra is $2k cheaper? I'm finding the ultra is currently ~$500 cheaper at most sellers. I think it's very similar to the Thunder, the Thunder just feels a bit more bulkier. I feel that the Ultra would probably suffice for most users totally fine!
@@AlienRides Thanks for all of the help getting the word out on the Dualtron Thunder! We just saw this comment and wanted to jump in because we get asked this question A LOT. The Thunder is a better scooter than the Ultra and here's why: Tubeless tires, upgraded eye display, stem lighting with remote control, hydraulic disc brakes, better swappable suspension cartridges, upgraded smoother / faster motor controllers, and foldable handlebars make the Thunder a much better option than the Ultra. I got the thunder finally lol
How can you make it fast? 💨
Temur gold congrats on your purchase, such an awesome scooter! You’ll need to remove two speed limiting wires in the deck, and also max out the settings.
What part of this was a review. All I saw was a failed attempt to hit 50 then some short videos of a guy just cruising around at low speed, or what appears to be low speed.
John Born good point, more of an impressions video I suppose. I should go back and do a proper review. Thanks for the feedback.
Its heavy as f**k tho
Yes, yes it is. Don’t get this one if you have to carry it up/down stairs. The Speedway V or Dualtron Spider could be great lighter weight solutions.
@@AlienRides What would you chose between Speedway V and Z10X since you have tried most of the monster scooters
@@mariusgmail670 I get that question a lot actually and it's one of the hardest to answer. Both are great scooters, if you like speed then the speedway is the clear winner at 60 volts. If you like the occasional trail riding or jumping off of a curb, the 10X might be the winner due to the awesome trampoline-like suspension. I find it hard to draw a clear line since so much of it depends on personal riding preference and conditions. Both are great though!
@@AlienRides Good answer. Z10X is more of a broad spectrum and the speedway v is more niche. I am reciving my z10x next week and I’m moving from a e-twow booster v to this. It’s quite the jump. Looking forward to it👌🛴 What was your first monster scooter?
Yeah but I'm heavy as fuck too so😂........no stairs to worry about.
