It is a tricky airport for pilots due to the extreme weather conditions, short runway and mountains all around. Pilots here are extremely skilled!

Hi! Everest is 8848m above sea level and it cannot be seen from Lukla Airport. That mountain in the background is about 6,000m tall. Yet it already looks so majestic
I believe that's Mt. Khumbila, altitude 5,760m ASL.
