What's the point of "interviewing" someone if you dont listen to a single thing they are saying? I would fire the interviewer and I'm not even a fan of Bannon. Completely incompetent.

When an interviewer interrupts the answer to a question they aren't actually interested in the thoughts and perspective of the person they are interviewing. What they want is to prevent other points of view from being explained.

Just the construction and framing of the questions was extremely biased. Start with a neutral question. Have your subject answer, follow with probing questions. You don’t have to act like one of the establishments’ praetorian guards.

It looks like SCOTUS just passed the "Enabling Act of 2024" giving the president virtual unlimited power. Trump called for military tribunals for Mike Pence, Liz Chaney, Joe Biden, Mitch McConnell, and others who he thinks used violence against his administration. I think that Biden needs to test these powers by holding a military tribunal for Trump where his normal constitutional protections don't exist. I also think that Biden needs to hold this tribunal in Guantanamo, beyond the reach of SCOTUS. ;-)

This is good for both sides. I don't identify as a Democrat or Republican. As an *American*, I absolutely want to hear as much as I can. I want all sides of the argument, context, and evidence.
All these unstructured arguments don't look at all like interviews. If there are talking points, there should be evidence alongside. Otherwise we just have two people verbally thumb-wrestling.
Interviewers in general have sucked across the board. The debate moderators sucked. There's a lot of media suckage. I have to listen actively to hear the actual messages. Whether it's Biden, Trump, or some rando on the street, context and impartial interviews are so. so. so important.
To be transparent about any bias I have: Neither candidate appeals to me, but I'm voting for Biden. Anything as broad in scope as Project 2025 needs a few more years of vetting. And I question Trump's character. It's not so much about being pro-Biden as it is cautious about Trump's broad, sweeping changes.
(Not trying to argue, convince, or change anyone's mind - just acknowledging I have biases, and am providing context for my comment. Can't be too careful in 2024.)

Does this 'reporter' ever shut his mouth and listen, just for one, complete sentence, to what the person he is interviewing is saying? I have never seen so many continual interrruptions during any interview I have ever viewed, and I have some years to speak of. My God man, practice some basic discipline and professionalism to allow at least a brief answer to you question or point. I understand you need to not let the person take over, but this was the other way around, your interview became partisan to the extreme, not honest, and by not allowing Steve to answer, you prevented any of us from gaining an understanding of his point - which may well have been intentional on your part, seeing who you work for. Steve showed incredible patience and grace to you, while you dishonored yourself as someone out of control, not professional, downright rude at times, and annoying to the point of unbearable most of the time. Again, Vaugn, is that your name? Please, shut up, just for minute now and then.
The reporters words were all canned after advanced interview game planning.
The reporter repeatedly attempted to catch Bannon with gotcha questions. The reporter replaced words like "investigate" with "persecute" in long question streams.
Bannon had to repeatedly avoid or correct the reporters misleading questions and statements.

This is an embarrassment. Why can’t this supposed journalist ask questions and then let his interviewee speak? And then, if he takes issue with something with some Bannon said, he can ask follow-up questions. I understand that it is not easy to interview someone like Bannon, as he is a very smart man, a brillant orator and storyteller, for whom the end justifies the means (meaning that he can distort facts to suit his purpose - as anyone else does, but more effective at that).
Nonetheless, this is not an interview... This is a debate. Journalist cannot play offense, if they do the price they pay is mistrust of the public. From that point they can be labeled lügenpresse and actually deserve that label... News media needs to be reformed; this is not free press.

Trump has always been a moderate. He was once a registered Democrat. He was once good friends with Jesse Jackson and supported him politically.
I believe the Clintons attended his wedding to Melania. He was a beloved celebrity back in the day - the minute he announced as a Republican they turned on him - so began cancel culture.
