WHO KNOWS what Microaggressions lurk in the hearts of White Cis Males? The SJW SHADOW knows! [Muffled sobs] Link to interview with Simon Spurrier: archive.fo/ut0j4
I've gotten really tired of this "ripped from today's headlines" storytelling. I often disagree with a writer's politics but that's not what gets to me, what's awful is no story is actually being created. No themes are explored. No questions are raised or answered. It's just the news, with even more melodrama. And "Old Man Wiener", I braced myself and still ended up on the floor.
The hell are you doing here Raycevick? I didn't know you were a Rageaholic. Awesome! Also very salient point. It's like these stories believe that proselytizing is in and of itself meritorious storytelling when it isn't. At all. Because God forbid you empathize with and understand someone you disagree with!
Raycevick yeah like everyone pretty enjoys watchmen even though Alan Moore is a left anarchist/communist, because there's a balanced range of ideologies presented, either do that or leave politics/current events out of it
Based on what the writer said I think this might his way of bringing The Shadow to the modern/present day...but 1911's are so damn cool! Don't fix something that ain't broke!
This is still salvageable. Step 1: Have the Shadow go Uber SJW. Crank that dial to 11. Step 2: Shit all over the character, his legacy, and everything he stands for. Step 3: Have him form a cabal of SJW-type characters that all go against what the Shadow is. Step 4: Have the final issue involve all of them getting gunned down. Have the Shadow himself get his head blown clear off by a shotgun. Step 5: Reveal the real Shadow, more pissed than he's ever been, happy that he's finally hunted down and executed his impostor.
Normally I would say that is utterly ridiculous, but with the way this new series is going? That's the only outcome that manage to save Dynimate Entertainment some face.
I'll gladly stand beside you on the front lines. The Shadow was my introduction into comics, superheroes, noir, pulps, etc. He is my favorite fictional character along with Sherlock Holmes, James Bond, and Batman. I've always taken comfort in the knowledge that The Shadow was too esoteric to be effed with by SJWs. Sadly, I was wrong.
The shadow was my introduction to old time radio. My aunt Mary sadly rip had a tape set containing a bunch of the Orson Welles broadcasts that introduced me to The Shadow and I was in for life. This, in fact, does mean war!
My father was born in 1927. I was the youngest but my oldest brother was a comic fan and I got the pleasure of reading the 10 cents ones. My father told me of the radio show he would listen to every week. Sad that SJW'S have ruined everything.
I've been watching Razor for about 2i'ish years now (this is a new account I have now long story just pointing out why my creation date is so recent) and when you see a jump cut you know he is really pissed lol
graham peters I would say this seems like a problem going on with Marvel and Dynamite more so than the other companies. DC is doing awesome with its Rebirth line. IDW are just publishing IPs of many different works so they're cool (they just recently acquired Sonic making them the Disney of comic books . . . which funny enough they also have the rights to). Valiant is Valiant so they're awesome but not noticed. Image . . . beats me. Archie . . . eh, they just cancelled their Sonic series so thats a bad thing. Overall I say its a mixed bag, especially regarding Marvel where Sturgeon's Law is in full effect with the quality of their comics as of lately.

+MaverickhuntexerxZero Which bullshit like this has only give me more fuel to write my own stories and create me own characters. With marvel and other fuck ups like this. Being a great lesson on what not to fucking do when writing a story.
Creators are wimps who are constantly looking for approval, pandering to SJW is the easy way except SJW don't read comics, don't play video-games, don't watch movies that are catered to them since they feed on outrage. That and a lot of creators are major SJW themselves.
It's part of the post-modernists agenda, tear down every established icon you encounter. Star Wars, comic heroes, history in general, social norms, etc...
You know Razor, this review was very important to me. Herr Spurrier was one of my contemporaries over at Black Library writing Warhammer 40k material. Expected much better of him than this drivel. I think it has been said before: if you don't care about a subject, don't write about it and sure as fuck don't screw it out of all resemblance to fit your own sensibilities. I've had very bad depression for a very long time now and it has taken a massive toll on my writing. I don't push for projects like i used to because in the back of my mind is the notion that somebody else should do it because they have a shot at a future worth living for. But I see this kind of shit and it really does make me think that stepping aside doesn't mean another writer is going to do the subject justice. The Shadow is a character who, along with Sherlock Holmes, forged a connection between myself and my father. Reading Sanctum's reprints is one of the few escapes that still works to help me get any relief these days. Seeing dirt heaped on the character like this is simply revolting - whether it is from a contemporary or not. As somebody on The Shadow Knows page said: what a waste of a Kaluta cover.
Hope your health gets better and you carry on with good material over politics. Black Library might have a few clunkers but I liove nearly all of the novels I read, good luck man (y)
Hey man. Good luck on getting in the right frame of mind. If a stranger on the internet can give you a suggestion that wont take much time, reading 'As a Man Thinketh' by James Allen helped. Its like 50 short pages. Can be found online with a simple google search. Personally I think the best way you could get through your feelbads is by making your writing what you want to do. All art is an expression of self, if you make yourself feel good and let your art express that feeling, it feeds a positive cycle the same way the opposite can happen.
Thanks for the kind words, but I've heard it all before down through the years. Comes a point when you understand tomorrow holds nothing but the same emptiness as yesterday. Some things it is in your power to change, others it isn't, and everybody has what they deem the bare essentials to have quality of life. Without that all you have is existence. Been betrayed by hope too many time to still think it is anything but a cruel lie. I will say with the SJW shit ramping up worse and worse it has managed to destroy even the idea of a posterity to leave a body of work for. Pretty much killed the incentive to do original work as opposed to work-for-hire stuff where you are guaranteed a pay day.
It could have been worse. The Shadow could have been changed into a blue haired feminist who uses her power to know what evil lurks in the hearts of men (and only men) as material for her vlog and to provide excuses to punch them in the heads while they are off guard.
You never know the shadow might still do that if it turns out he's a feminist ally. And was that a reference to Storms domestic violence against Black Panther at the end?
FUCK! As soon as this series was announced, I looked up Si Spurrier and immediately knew this was going to happen... BUT NOT TO THIS FUCKING EXTENT!!! That facebook comment was right, Matt Wagner and Michael Uslan were pretty much the only good writers of The Shadow at Dynamite. And even Matt Wagner couldn't help but sprinkle some modern Leftist talking points here and there, but at least it wasn't too distracting.
I was actually surprised to see "Diversity and Comics" give this book a glowing review. Granted, he doesn't know anything about The Shadow. I hope he sees this video.
skinflutey I actually really like Diversity and Comics. His channel actually got me back into reading comics. But The Shadow went STRAIGHT over his head. Other than that I mostly agree with him.
Thanks Razor, glad I didn't tell my comic store to hold me a copy. Not that they would have had a problem doing it apparently. They still have a long box full of unsold Waid era Daredevil that the owner couldn't get rid of even if it was the cure for herpes. Kind of reminds me of the bumbling they did of the latest Elektra (which apparently got canceled as well). I mean how can you fuck up someone who was already a symbol of feminism?
From what I hear, not only does Conde Nast charge an arm and a leg for the rights to The Shadow, they're VERY selective about whom they give them to. Part of the reason DC had to cancel the excellent Shadow Strikes! series in the early 90s was because, while the series was successful, it wasn't successful enough to justify the licensing fees they were paying to Conde Nast. CN would probably never go for a fan-sourced buy.
At least it gave us this awesome rant. Seriously, it's basically everything wrong with modern comics: no respect for the characters, no respect for the audience, and a metric fuckton of social justice garbage. I actually expected better of Dynamite; I always thought of them as too sleazy to try to talk down to their audience. Oops.
Glad I found this review, diversity and comics have his and he thought (in very brief summary) that what was mentioned as SJW wasn't up front. Guess everyone has a miss every so often.
As someone who unfortunately forgot this warning in a mad search through my local, soon to be closed down, comic shop for any and all Shadow books I can tell you it doesn’t get any better. I mistakenly picked up issue 3 & 4 of this series on account of the actually pretty good cover art and my god was I disappointed. Ham fisted dialogue, shitty art, women obviously made unattractive on purpose, modern day politics, a blatant lack of understanding of the character, a book that was 12 pages of story and 10 pages of ads, and worst of all a shadow series with little or no involvement of the Shadow or even Lamont Cranston until the FOURTH ISSUE. A less than average series would be one thing, they can’t all be winners, but this is either a writer that has ABSOLUTELY NO PRIOR KNOWLEDGE of the Shadow or a clear attempt to undermine the character and his story from bottom to top! If you see a Shadow book with the name Si Spurrier across the top take it from me and save your money. And for that matter, don’t buy any other books with his name on em. That’s how we fix this industry guys, learn these hacks names and never give them another red cent.
Razor, I gotta thank you man. Because of you I got The Shadow vs Grendel, 1941, and Leviathan. You my man have given me one of the most hardcore characters and stories I've enjoyed in a while. Godspeed you Razor!
It's extremely annoying to see this. The Shadow is a classic character and one that deserves far better than being used as yet another bland soapbox for a tired passive aggressive political diatribe that has been done hundreds of time before using any number of characters as their mouthpieces. Like you said, this was a completely missed opportunity. It's especially annoying because there are people in Britain who know what the Shadow is and how he should be written. I could write a better Shadow comic than this hack and I've never been published. That's not trumpeting my own (lack of) skills as a writer, that's a condemnation of this idiot who doesn't seem to have read or listened to a single Shadow story, who was given a chance to write for one of the best pulp characters to have ever existed and completely cocked it up for boring, soon-to-be-dated evangelical virtue signalling pamphlet about the author hand wringing about 'Drumpf' and 'white people'. If I had to pick a team from Britain who should be given charge of the character, and the art for that matter, the people behind Commando Comics should have been given a shot at it, not this hack, but what can you expect from someone like Spurrier who worked as an art director for the BBC?
you know, I may be only 23, but even I listened to The Shadow on the radio as a kid, and *_that shit was the bomb._* this...? _this is a fucking disgrace._
Jesus Christ, I knew the social justice infection of comic books was bad, but you'd think the Shadow of all characters would be safe from their shit. Then again, they turned goddamn Archie from a harmless whitebread Leave-it-to-Beaver comedy into Mark Waid's Tumblr page, so I guess this shouldn't be a surprise. Unless something big happens and these joyless hacks with contempt for their subject matter and open hostility towards their audience are all shown the door, the comics industry will be all but dead in a few short years.
That privilege bit turned my stomach. I'm so sick of being lectured about my privilege. People need to wake up and realize that sometimes if people have privileges in this world maybe JUST FUCKING MAYBE they earned it!
Sir, you don't know me. This is probably worth nothing. I'd like to say it anyway. I watched Dragonball Evolution when it first came out and lost my shit. HOW people could get such a character wrong was totally beyond me. I don't know much about the Shadow. I liked the Alec Baldwin movie. But I can tell that you passionately love this character, and entertaining as your rants are it HURTS to see someone react to something they love being handled wrongly by morons. I know how you feel. For whatever the hell that's worth. I hope you get a rendition that does justice to what you liked sometime.
I saw this in the stands, got excited, opened it up, after 10 seconds I put it back and immediately wanted to hear Razorfist rant about how horrible it was.
This is why I haven't bought a single comic or graphic novel in years apart from a few Ninjak books which aren't terrible. The comics industry is in exactly the same state as the universities and colleges in America. If you have anything other than a far left opinion, you're canned quicker than rat meat at a Chef Boyardee factory.
First they ruin Red Sonja and now they Ruin the Shadow... Thankfully IDW has Kull and Darkhorse has Conan. Because if Dynamite tried to interject their political bullshit into another one of my favorite characters I will personally mail a turd to their HQ.
It's always bullshit when ideologues use established, beloved characters as benchmark to comment on politics with their incredibly pedestrian opinions. Fuck Si spurrier. And Dynamite Entertainment for allowing that dipshit to write the Shadow.
Dude...I just subbed to you...and I have to say. Fucking thank you. Fucking thank you for everything you do and everything you’re doing. Please, please don’t ever stop what you’re doing. You speak for all of us that are too scared to say what you’re saying.
"What new paradigm? Clearly it's just a couple hundred thousand misfits taken in by Russian trolls, my friends write the paradigms."-Spurrier, probably.
I saw Diversity and Comics review of this, and he shows the actual pages. It seemed ok with parts definitely veering into SJW turf. I console myself by knowing it could have been so much worse.
7:13 I thought my sound card must have bugged out for a moment there. Razorfist was on screen for almost 5 seconds and I wasn't being drowned in a deluge of dialogue. I mean for fuck sake, silence in a Razorfist video.
Well, it now looks like that might've been in preparation for a Shadow revival. last episode of the Shadowcast has all the details, but apparently there might be a Netflix Shadow in the future. Given how often these type of characters have been fucked on every level from quantum to cosmic, I really don't know how to feel about it.
Tell us how ya really feel Razor! Some guys just need to be kept perpetually angry for the gleeful amusement of the masses. Congrats again on 100k you guys more then deserve it.
www.amazon.com/Conan-Frost-Giants-Daughter-Stories/dp/1593073011 Start there, my barbcurious friend. Yes, purists are going to tell you to start with Robert E. Howard's work (and they're not wrong), but I think the Dark Horse run was some of the best 'Conan' ever made. Cary Nord (if you read Daredevil, you'll know his name), Thomas Yeates, and Dave Stewart's art work is so fucking evocative of that Frazetta/Howard era sunday-funnies style that it's almost surreal. And Kurt Busiek's writing is dead on classic Conan! There are so many great Conan books that you'll be hard pressed to find anything truly terrible. Hope that helps!
I binged the 70s-80s Marvel Conan comics in Jan-Feb this year, including the earlier Savage Sword renditions of the original Howard. I regret nothing. Then I read a lot of Cerebus. Regret nothing of that either.
Agreed with Simonbelmont09. Dark horse comics run is pretty damn good, and for the most part it is faithful to the original character created by Robert E Howard(with the notable exception of the ones written by Brian Wood, avoid that steaming pile of shit). I'd also recommend as a starting point Conan: Born on the Battlefield by Kurt Busiek. In my opinion, it is the definitive origin story of Conan when he was a kid growing up in his village, and the adventures he went through before becoming the barbarian we all know and love. It' great, it's believeble, and gritty. Welcome to Conan's world! By Crom, I hope you enjoy it.
Honestly I'm somewhat surprised that a company that was willing to give screentime to characters like Green Hornet, The Spider and the fucking Clock could be this tone-deaf on the Shadow. And, much like modern Marvel, Dynamite are so unwilling to believe there can be any opinion but their own and will drown out any dissent. Most infuriating is that the Shadow has largely been sidelined by modern media, only having presence in printed media. And now the people printing stuff for him are content to create poorly written, poorly drawn bird cage lining. It's not even like there's a shortage of writers who could do a decent Shadow story. I'm sure they could get Steve Ditko to come out of hiding by leaving a few copies of Atlas Shrugged outside his door. And Alan Moore, overrated though he may be, he would at least *get* the Shadow if asked to write about him. Even if his efforts would likely veer into parody, it would be more dignified than this.
I'm so tired of the comic book industry being ruined by these horrible writers. Marvel has been completely destroyed. Dynamite has been fucking around with the SJWs for awhile now. Looks like they've fallen also to this complete bullshit.
Hey, comic writers! Do this to The Spider. He's a Shadow ripoff with enough differences to work on his own and has no central moral philosophy. He's basically Punisher cosplaying as Shadow. Revive him and make him whatever you want, but don't mess with the core of who the Shadow is.
I got to say. Being able to tell someone who they truly are by what their thingy looks like. Has to be the biggest bullshit i have seen and i seen a lot of bullshit from marvel comics. How the fuck does she know what his dick look like?
Forest elfranger+ Also who the hell thought it was good idea to draw and write a scene where they had look at the shadow dong just so they can figure out who he is and more importantly who approve of this scene and who allow this to happen?
+JJJMadness Let us not forget he was burned from head to toe. So even if she knew what it look like when it wasn't burned. How the fuck does she still know it's his after being burned from head to toe or was his dick somehow the only thing that didn't get burned?
+Forest elfranger Other good reason why this whole penis thing fricken stupid, it doesn't even make sense when you actually think about it. Which is something the writers of this piece of shit certainly didn't do.
What does McCain and Dynamite Comics have in common? They had ONE F***ING JOB and they f***ed it so bad that it makes anime porn look tame in comparison.
Good news I found on the radio researchers group a button of Australian Shadow episodes I never heard before stayed up till accidentally 4:00 in the morning listening to them all in order fell asleep and they were still going the next day so I had to back up a little unfortunately one of them appears to be incomplete and another one appears to be low quality. I'll try to see if I can find the incomplete episodes other half anywhere because I had a bit of luck with the whisperer. I'm using voice dictate I meant a butt ton.
Being a comic book collector from way back (54 now , started collecting at 5) I'm so grateful that we have plenty of back catalogues that we can read..
In 2013 I self-published a comic book called SIX-GUN GORILLA: LONG DAYS OF VENGEANCE, based on an ultra-obscure British Pulp character who inhabits the same public domain as y Dracula, Frankenstein and Sherlock Holmes, etc.. Would you believe my shit luck when I found out that BOOM! was publishing a book called SIX-GUN GORILLA a week after mine written by none other than Simon Spurrier. Mine was a Western while Spurriers was a dystopian Sci-Fi bloodsport story with elements from DEATH WATCH and THE RUNNING MAN. I reached out to Spurrier but he was kind of a knob about the whole thing.
Well this gives me EXTRA dread knowing that there's gonna be a Sheena: Queen of the Jungle comic, written by Marguerite "Unsolicited opinions of Israel" Bennet SMH. Good one Dynamite, way to piss away your credibility for being a needed alternative from the big 2.
I only breezed through the comic, but I am fairly sure that the nurse identified The Shadow based on his distinctive laugh when he was being wheeled on the gurney by the hospital staff.
I'm not sure who said it, it might actually have been Razorfist. But why don't they create new characters to carry their ideas? Why must they mutilate beloved characters with their nonsense? I have to believe they know the people who already believe what they believe don't read their stuff and won't pick it up just to support them. So they poison the die-hard fans just for a few bucks then they move on. I guess it's true that evil has no imagination.
This is an interesting issue in and of itself - can The Shadow work in a modern setting? Certainly the new technology of our age offers new opportunities for his theatrics, and a skilled writer could put a modern twist on the noir theme. I think the idea I like the most is The Shadow persona essentially becoming immortal via his agents, so even if Cranston the man is old or dead, the myth of The Shadow could still exist in the modern day - almost like Ghostface in Scream.
Geez. Haven't heard you this upset since your MJ vids. Great rant razor. Are you a fan of Garth Ennis's Punisher Max run or just the Punisher in general? I'd love for you to do a series of videos on the character. That would be great as I'm a huge fan of the character. His comics are the only ones I have.
I mixed this book up with Coils of Leviathan which I wanted based on Razor's recommendation... I have so many regrets in this life but chief among them is that I paid money for and am an owner of a copy of this comic.
the thing that made hard-boiled type detectives interesting was their rugged persona. set in the 30's etc these dudes would have seen valtines day massacre levels of violence routinely. a pile of corpses brutalized, for noir, is what they call "wednesday." i had alot of hope for this new dynamite series....
After seeing The Shadow with dual wielding 45s, it's a 10-second trigger when I see him with Beretta 9mms on the first cover I see. The rest of the bullshit doesn't help
I've gotten really tired of this "ripped from today's headlines" storytelling. I watched Sidcourse this morning and I saw you there, then I find you again on a completely different video. What's going on here Raycevik? :P
"I finally read sjw shadow. And im not impressed"
I knew something was fucked up, when I saw The Shadow using Berettas instead of his 1911's.
The artist probably thinks all handguns are the same.
They probably get their gun knowledge from TV news, every gun is either one of those evil Glocks or AR 15s.
Based on what the writer said I think this might his way of bringing The Shadow to the modern/present day...but 1911's are so damn cool! Don't fix something that ain't broke!
Do they have 30-clip magazines?
unforgivable.
This is still salvageable.

Normally I would say that is utterly ridiculous, but with the way this new series is going? That's the only outcome that manage to save Dynimate Entertainment some face.
You mean, purposely tanking several issues for a "grand reveal"? Sounds like a disaster.
Which is why it fits, because this is already a fucking train wreck.
I'd do it just to piss off all the right people.
That'd be one hell of a twist ending...

Sjw's hit the Shadow. THIS MEANS WAR
I'm with you brother.

I swear if this happens to John Carter imma hurt someone

Two Razorfist videos in one day? Lemmy has certainly blessed us.
Sawyer Cantrell Of course he does. He died for our sins last year.
The Stargazer Sorry but I must speak heresy. Lemmy is a terrible singer; he can only sing like 3 notes. Why is he metal Jesus?
They saw fedora and thought- "He's one of us."
L
My father was born in 1927. I was the youngest but my oldest brother was a comic fan and I got the pleasure of reading the 10 cents ones. My father told me of the radio show he would listen to every week. Sad that SJW'S have ruined everything.

Well, he did say passed 100k subs.
You mean 10,000 subs lol.
I've been watching Razor for about 2i'ish years now (this is a new account I have now long story just pointing out why my creation date is so recent) and when you see a jump cut you know he is really pissed lol

Carandini you mention 40k and I have to ask, to you think it's in any danger of SJW influence? It looks pretty clean now but you never know for sure.
Well, seeing the author of 'Lord of Night' go this route, I wouldn't call anything certain except I won't write anything like this.
Hope your health gets better and you carry on with good material over politics. Black Library might have a few clunkers but I liove nearly all of the novels I read, good luck man (y)

That would be the cliff hanger of book 4. Does he survive the sex change operation? Time to get rid of that old man dick.
It’s still pretty shit.
As good as the Batman Shadow crossover is I'd love to see a Crossover of The Shadow and Ditko's original version of The Question.

I was actually surprised to see "Diversity and Comics" give this book a glowing review. Granted, he doesn't know anything about The Shadow.
I hope he sees this video.
TheAndosman You're kidding. Him of all fucking people thought that this was good? I need to see this.
"he doesn't know anything" Yeah, you can say that again.
I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. He might not know much about the Shadow. Then again I skipped that review he did.
TheAndosman I don't know why he keeps reviewing non super hero books. He's admitted he doesn't really care for them. His Low review was awful
skinflutey I actually really like Diversity and Comics. His channel actually got me back into reading comics. But The Shadow went STRAIGHT over his head.
Other than that I mostly agree with him.
Burn it all down, we're done here folks.
You are hands down the best talker on RUclips
Maybe we should crowd fund the rights to The Shadow and publish a proper series! Who's with me?!
'Fuck this shit' - Razorfist 2017. All that needed to be said was said.
I am sick of sjw's ruining EVERYTHING.
#NotMyShadow
On behalf of all of England I apologise Mr Fist. I think the Dark Judges need to have a private talk with that twatracket
My dude read Solomon Kane if you haven't already
Tw@racket, oh boy I've never heard that one before :-)
This is a sad day indeed....
They must have seen your commentary on the Shadow,
and decided to kill him with their garbage :'(
It's extremely annoying to see this.
That was a great rant to read.
BadlanderOutsider Commando comics downy get the recognition they deserve.
you know, I may be only 23, but even I listened to The Shadow on the radio as a kid, and *_that shit was the bomb._*
this...?
*slow clap* Cool avatar by the way.
Thanks.
First they ruin Red Sonja and now they Ruin the Shadow...
Thankfully IDW has Kull and Darkhorse has Conan. Because if Dynamite tried to interject their political bullshit into another one of my favorite characters I will personally mail a turd to their HQ.
She.. identified...his "Weiner"? I'd call that a joke but, I ain't laughing. Pathetic.
I'm just gonna cradle my Shadow/Batman comics and think about what could have been in a 2017 The Shadow comic.
as a relatively new fan of the shadow even i can tell you this is bullshit
Azurenighterror11 Same
It's always bullshit when ideologues use established, beloved characters as benchmark to comment on politics with their incredibly pedestrian opinions. Fuck Si spurrier. And Dynamite Entertainment for allowing that dipshit to write the Shadow.
As a lifelong, die-hard fan of The Shadow from the pulps to the comics, thank you for this. Subbed.
Wow. We didn't even get a god FUCKING speed this time. I think this one hit too close to home for ol' Razorfist...
Is that a fidget spinner on his hat? And is that an anarcho communist pin on his coat? Wtf! 😂😂
This is why I'm glad my local library has the old shadow radio plays, when I need my shadow fix I don't settle for anything less
Oh nice the tape sets or the cds? And no this is not going where you think it is. :-)
Not one, but *two* full-length videos in a single day? Razor, you spoil us! :D
This video was 90% gums, we've reached a new level of rage folks.
And wouldn't you know it: Only a few months later, Conde Nast took the rights to the Shadow back off of Dynamite.
Someone needs to summon Walter B. Gibson from beyond and have him haunt Spurrier's ass dressed as the Shadow!
Razor, do you have any recommendations for Conan the Barbarian comics?
blah007001 I doubt he'd miss a chance to recommend the crossover comic between Conan and Elric.
www.amazon.com/Conan-Frost-Giants-Daughter-Stories/dp/1593073011
Start there, my barbcurious friend.
Savage sword by far the best title, just pick a volume in random.
The shadow is the embodiment of “we are punished by our sins, not for them.”
This comic just seems to be specifically made to piss you off, Razorfist.
I'm so tired of the comic book industry being ruined by these horrible writers. Marvel has been completely destroyed. Dynamite has been fucking around with the SJWs for awhile now. Looks like they've fallen also to this complete bullshit.
The movie is so cool. That it didn't become a franchise is a shame.
Steve Orlando should be writing the Shadow. He's killing on the Batman crossover
Congratulations on the 100k!
Hey, comic writers! Do this to The Spider. He's a Shadow ripoff with enough differences to work on his own and has no central moral philosophy. He's basically Punisher cosplaying as Shadow. Revive him and make him whatever you want, but don't mess with the core of who the Shadow is.
Yeah I wouldn't be a big fan of irreparably messing up the spider.
I was hoping it wouldn't be this bad but now that I know it's trash I won't even bother with it .
Someone obsessed with old man dick it would seem JJJMadness
+JJJMadness Let us not forget he was burned from head to toe. So even if she knew what it look like when it wasn't burned. How the fuck does she still know it's his after being burned from head to toe or was his dick somehow the only thing that didn't get burned?
+Forest elfranger Other good reason why this whole penis thing fricken stupid, it doesn't even make sense when you actually think about it.
Which is something the writers of this piece of shit certainly didn't do.
Hey Razor, any chance we will ever see a video on Berserk? (Assuming you've read it)
What does McCain and Dynamite Comics have in common? They had ONE F***ING JOB and they f***ed it so bad that it makes anime porn look tame in comparison.
I learned more about the Shadow then I knew before
Goddamn, Razorfist. You're in top form, lately. Continue to be the tip of the lance, PLEASE!
Thanks for introducing me to the FB page.
I think he is actually pissed this time.
Thanks for the intro to the Face Book group
Nice work Razorfist. I've been enjoying your videos. Keep up the good work
Being a comic book collector from way back (54 now , started collecting at 5) I'm so grateful that we have plenty of back catalogues that we can read..
Man, what a fall from grace. Simon was one of my favorite writers and now this happened
I only breezed through the comic, but I am fairly sure that the nurse identified The Shadow based on his distinctive laugh when he was being wheeled on the gurney by the hospital staff.
It has now finally occured to me that The Shadows color scheme matches Antifa's color scheme.
This bodes ill.
Evil can't create. All it can do is ruin and despoil the creations of others.
I have to show this to my grand dad. He's a really level headed guy, so I wonder how he'll react.
Somebody should make a ringtone of Razorfist screaming "OLD MAN WEINER". xD
Insightful as allways..
*YEAH BOI!*
Razor... I would love to hear you review the great Shadow denny O'neill series as well as the flat out weird Helfer series.
IM RAZORFIST, FUCK THIS SHIT!
Best outro ever.
Fron your video I learned that Garth Ennis wrote the Shadow. I had no idea and I am an old Ennis fan. Was the Enni's run any good?
I mixed this book up with Coils of Leviathan which I wanted based on Razor's recommendation...
I have so many regrets in this life but chief among them is that I paid money for and am an owner of a copy of this comic.
I was waiting for this the moment I saw the comic. Hit me.
the thing that made hard-boiled type detectives interesting was their rugged persona. set in the 30's etc these dudes would have seen valtines day massacre levels of violence routinely. a pile of corpses brutalized, for noir, is what they call "wednesday." i had alot of hope for this new dynamite series....
By the way, Razor, what's your opinion of the Howard Chaykin story
"Divided States of Hysteria?"
America Chavez... now THAT'S a fucking atrocious trainweck through and through.
After seeing The Shadow with dual wielding 45s, it's a 10-second trigger when I see him with Beretta 9mms on the first cover I see.
The rest of the bullshit doesn't help
6:44 Razor's first jump cut! Is it time to shave the hair down to a DeFranco cut?
Gotta say, this is my new favorite rant.
6:24 holy shit, someone actually approved the expressions in those last two frames
It's time to fight back razor. #comicsgate
The leftists in the Shadow Facebook group have their panties in a twist over this one
It's nothing to do with that. It's a lazily written comic that does not understand the title character in the slightest.
You and Diversity in Comics have a huge difference of opinion.
I'm siding with you.
