Hi Edgar. From Cuernavaca morelos Mexico, I send to you greatings. I was born here in México. My Lengua materna is Spanish, so forgive my english mistakes. Actually my true name is Marco. Thanks for your videos. I´m a street violinist. I started to study violin when I was 50 years old, now I´m sixty. I had learn up to third position and a little fitht position. I can play some barroco music from bach and Vivaldi, and I enjoy it a lot. I have a two chinese violines. My new one is an Alfred Stingl Hofner AS-045 4/4, ( I dont like, very much, his sound in the thrid, second, and first string) and my old violin is a Hasha labeled violin ( with worst sound). I did sand my old Hasha violin ´cause after ten years of work, the varnish was very bad. I put first linaza oil on it and after an oil color ink. After that I put a wood sealer . All them came from a painting store. Now the violin sound worst than before, though it looks better. Please tell me if theres some remedy for it. How I should have done? please show me how to barnish a violin, what items I need for that job. I do not have a luthier violin cause I do not have enough money, My last new violin did cost me about 163 dólares americanos = 3200 pesos mexicanos,in México City. A luthier violin in Mexico city cost around $1500 dollars minimum. Like Micky Jager said I can´t get no satisfaction. I´m thinking to buy an other violin that cost around 150 dollars but this time I´ll ask to try it. I mean to put in tune it , and play the instrument before purchase it. So I´ll get something better.

My favorite is the 2020 viola (except for your mother’s ). It sounded very clear and bright without the cavernous muffled lower C string.
    🤷‍♀️

I find the 43,5 the best sounding viola, the 41,5 being a close second place
