Hey friends, new tone test day! Here we have a shootout between a Dual Caliber DC-3 and the Mark IIC+ using a LTD Camo Snakebyte with the EMG Het Set. Triple tracked with the Traditional G12T-75 cab, the riff is from one of my band @TIGHTENmetal's songs. We're going straight in, no boost. Which tone do YOU prefer?

Absolutely orgasmic tones from both amps! The Mk IIC+ is a little bit clearer and fuller though and it also has a little bit more bass.
Also going going by what another bloke in the comments said, do you reckon you could do a comparison between the Mk IIC+ and a .50 Calibre+. I'm curious to see how much it sounds like a Mk IIC+.
Also also, I reckon the End In Fire riffs sound much better in E standard than on the original recording. Just has a bit more of an edge to it imo
Thanks! Yeah there's no way I can sing in E standard, so the tuning for the band is purely driven by the vocals.
No plans on getting a 50 cal, sorry!

Wow, bro how did you get this tone on DC-3? I have a '95 DC-3 combo with Vintage Black Shadow speaker, and tone of my amp absolutely not like that. What settings you using?
It's not about the settings, you have to use a sealed cab. Combos do not metal. Here I'm using a traditional 4x12 w/ G12T-75s.
I am a lot like you in the fact that I constantly trade and buy different boogies(it keeps life interesting). What is your current stable and what's your current favorite? I am currently back on a 90 watt Mark V and Triple Crown 100.
True story. Amps come & go, but my favorite for years has been the loop modded Mark IIB. It just destroys everything in its path.

New channel name? Awesome! I've got a .50, dc-3, and dc-5. Never really had the opportunity to play a mark very much. Is that drive knob and slightly different tonestack order really worth $2k?

So this confirms that Metallica could have used Marshalls for all albums, just as long as they put an eq pedal in front of it. I mean... EL84 scooped sounds the same as 6L6 scooped.
The EQ is used much like a booster in front of a Marshall to get that tight crunch, the EQ after the gain stage (loop on a Marshall) is how you sculpt the sound. The Mark serious just rolls up both into a small package.
@@Albee213 o don't get me wrong, I prefer Mesa. My Express is much more versatile than any Marshall amp. But some people claim that some Metallica albums wouldn't exist if Mesa amps didn't exist, and I don't agree with that. It is all about tone shaping, talent, and production. Metallica would have made those albums nevertheless.
@@reneotten7376 I agree with the Metallica part, with the write EQ, booster and a little tweaking just about any amp can sound awesome.

What’s your opinion on the Snakebyte?
The one I got I like a whole lot. It has far better tone than the LTD baritone SB and an ESP SB I previously had.

Are you playing it through the combo speaker or a sealed cab? IMO all Mark based amps have suck tone through a combo.
