I'm still laughing at the fact that your first gym battle involved a disobedient sunkern. I had a "bad" single-stage pokemon only run of Emerald where I started with a delibird. When I realized how many hours I'd have to grind to get past Roxanne, I was willing to sub in a ringer for one fight only: The now-randomized trade in Rustboro where I got Midnight the Sunkern. I forgot disobedience was a mechanic in these games, so I ended up defeating Roxanne with the universe's angriest sunkern!
This was such a good video. I love the critical thinking of which gym or battle to tackle with your current mon when you have a couple of paths available
Hey! I've got another special video similar to this planned for Christmas Day! This one was completely spontaneous, I recorded, edited and released it within 24 hours of coming up with the concept. If any other fun ideas come up, I'll absolutely be doing another one like this!
Lots of ways to improve here! Exp groups could definitely be a consideration. If the pokemon you get levels up quickly at the level it is, spend time training it. If it doesn't level up quickly, lose it as fast as possible! I noticed that you did that with Aipom!
thought of a fun kind of "Not so Challenge" run, a subsect of End of the Line called something like Break the Limit or something. Basically a run where you have a Lvl 100 Pokemon at the last evolution stage with w/e their strongest moves are, and just see how quickly you could beat the game. Using Electrode as an example just cause its fresh in my memory. You start the game, and he's Lvl 100 with Thunderbolt/HP: Ice or Dark/Return/Toxic or something similar to this.
I think that's a great idea! I'm planning on doing a couple of streams a week over on my Twitch channel where I don't have to take challenge running quite as seriously, so it's definitely something I could do over there!
I didn't realize until about Chuck that your wonder trade was an even level exchange. That made the move sets interesting but also made the overall level of the pokemon variable based on the exp group of the pokemon you got. I'll be interested in seeing what level you get to red at with this variable exp
That's something I was certain I had mentioned in the rules, but I must've accidentally cut out the clip! It's always an even level exchange with the Wonder Trade, and if I got a Pokémon in the Fast experience group, I did try to take advantage of it!
The good news is that the Wonder Trading is built into the Challenge Run base, so it'll be part of the next major patch! The bad news is that there's a very, very slight chance that the game will crash when you do a Wonder Trade, and I haven't isolated the issue yet, which is why it's not released yet!
great video, but tbh I would have used the starter for first rival battle then traded, Tentacool for only 1 battle for like 30 seconds was kinda pointless.
In hindsight, that probably would've made the beginning of the video flow, but my whole idea for this one was to never battle with a Pokémon with my OT!
I decided to play without a level cap for this one, which is why the graphics weren't updating! I'm so used to the overlay automatically updating the cap that I was completely oblivious to it being there!

Can we see more of these please?!? I like this change up!

Banger idea of a video. Hoenn or FRLG would be really dope for this concept
That was great! Loved the suspense. Sunkern was brutal. Wouldn't mind to see more of these, that was very fun.
This one was so much fun. Glad I sent it directly to the top of my extensive "watch later" backlog.
This is so cool!! I’m so glad to see something so neat that we take for granted in newer gens be back ported! Great show!
This was an interesting run. The sunkern struggle in the beginning.

This is a really fun idea! I think it would be a fun idea to show the pokemon that earned each badge in the overlay if you can
If I ever do a video like this again, I'll try and figure out a way to add the Pokémon automatically on to the overlay!

Very excited to see how this goes

I didnt realize each monster was just for 1 event! Oh man! Thats so fun!
It was a relly fun and cool video loved the creativity and over all 10/10 perfect mate
I would love to see a Pokémon randomizer with metronome attack only 😊I think it would be fun and will cause a lot of funny moments 😅
This is a great video and it would make for a great stream idea too.
Can't wait to see it in a patch

@@Squidgy I did wonder when I saw the date and time changer in the Pokémon centre
MORE OF THIS MORE OF THIS MORE OF THIS

Was the Lvl Cap in the bottom left supposed to be updating, as it said 0 throughout the entire video?

Cool video I thought it was fun
Is this a challenge patch that is available on the site???
Hey! It will be part of the regular challenge run patch eventually, there are still a few bugs which need ironing out at the moment!
Testing out a new format? 😀
Feraligatr is the best out of all three starters
This video's a special one-off as I was unable to stream today!
Squidgyyyyyyy
