I was not expecting DM to show up here. I know it is not musically complex but it gives off such a good feeling. It is an amazing song, for sure.

Gyuri, the one who mixes, is actually known for her clean, pure, mixed belt demonstrated mostly on Produce 48. Her belts are sooooo clean!

fromis_9 is just so stacked with talent, the fact that hayoung doesn't hold the "official" main vocalist title (she's just lead vocal) yet still did her killer whistle notes just says it all. they have many amazing vocalists and i'm glad they're slowly highlighting that.
i think with the change of companies she went back into being a main vocal? not sure.
although her abilities are insane, she lacks breath support which only jiwon and gyuri have
@@nakoiz4851 honestly, breath support doesn't matter much, and hayoung does use it occasionally. the emphasis on breath support is really confusing to me, since it's only one of many techniques.

@@leviberg2377 for a main vocal i think they should be able to atleast support their notes cos it’s one of the main techniques. hayoung does implement a raised larynx position that can prevent improvement and healthy singing. i’m not saying that she did the notes poorly but high notes shouldn’t determine if you are main vocal or not

one thing about fromis_9 vocal is that they're singing in their comfy zone & technique, they also have decent distribution which is hard for 9 members

I would like to mention the vast improvement of the sub vocalists. Jisun, Jiheon, Chaeyoung and even (the legato queen) Saerom all sounded amazing in this comeback. There is no vocal hole in this group.

I'm not sure why, but for this group, the "f" in "fromis" is pronounced liked a hard "p", so that it sounds like "promise". Perhaps its a Hangul alphabet translation to English thing (like the group ENHYPEN doesn't have the second "H" in HYPHEN because there is no hard "F" sound in the Hangul alphabet?? I'm not really sure but the group's premise as EN- uses the hyphen symbol with the word "connect" in their mission statement). Both groups are under HYBE (fromis_9 with Pledis, ENHYPEN with BE:LIFT - both agencies are with HYBE).
"From Idol School" and "Promise" in Korean pronunciation, also means "to keep their promise [to viewers] to be the best girl group".

You gotta check their cover of DAY6 - Time of our life at the "it's Live" youtube channel. Can't believe they covered my favorite day6 song and god did they do a good job. They just show how harmonising is so natural to them.

I just want to comment on the whistle tone in KPop aspect. In the early 00's there was a relatively famous group called "Daisy". They promoted a song called "Alone (나야)" which has whistles. Even though Daisy eventually disbanded, the main vocal, Cha Su-Kyung is known as the Korean Mariah Carey. You can easily find videos of her singing Mariah's hit, "Emotions".
