I loved lightning strike back when it was super popular (OP?), I believe that was before the default number of projectiles on the gem was nerfed some time ago. Even if it's not that popular anymore, can you still push it super far despite that nerf? I believe nowadays you have to do some shenanigans and use Doryani's Prototype tho. If so, might play it next league instead of the classic RoA->LA->TS.
Yeah most people use Doryanis and I really do not like playing Doryanis builds. It is definitely not the skill it used to be, but still fun. Hopefully melee buffs coming in 3.24 :)
can't go wrong with champ VLS. non-crit is super strong and by the time you get your watchstones it's relatively simple to craft a nice claw and swap to crit
So, after the watchstones, you would swap the swords for claws with crit and atack speed? Thinking on league starting with this, would be awesome to have perspective to grown, but I'm not that experienced with a lot of builds.

I am sure there will be some upgrades coming in the way of whatever new stuff is introduced in the next league so will keep the channel updated. I will bring a full build guide out if it survives patch notes anyway this is just me testing it
I've been looking for a good league starter to jump into a scion armor stacker after I get gear. Seems like a perfect starter since the gems and general game-play is very similar
You can also just go full smite, then you dont need to go for the projectile stuff, and dont need the extra setup for auras, smites clear is also insanely potent, vaal smite hits the entire screen
I did try but single target was really bad on this setup. Vaal Lightning Strike does carry a lot of your boss DPS which is the main reason for going for it on league start
I'm also planning on trying LS champion in 3.24, but my plan is to use Mahuxotl's Machination, +1 max res Doryani's Prototype, one of the new Ruby Flasks that now give max res to help counter Melding, and if I can find one on trade a megalomaniac with +4 max chaos res for 90% res on both Fire and Chaos. Finally Tempered by War so that I no longer take Cold or Lightning Damage, and am thus immune to all cold or lightning ailments
Sounds like a plan. I think I would probably transition into something like that. You definitely need tech to not take lightning damage with Doryanis (expecially when not stacking armour).

Just do Trickster explosive trap in SSF. Best bosser in the game and mapping is now solid too when you get your hands on explosive trap of shrapnel, two gem swaps and you have an incredible mapper, the best bosser and you are incredible tanky because of the nature of Trickster already

Should be fine I have not had any issues getting atlas clear. It will be more difficult this league since you cannot opt out of the league mechanic so have to do it every map. I have a full levelling run uploading at present which should be up on the channel shortly
It would be a lot more expensive as a league starter. A good claw alone is probably 6 divines+ you would also need very good crit gear and a way to generate power and frenzy charges. I would think trickster will be good when decked out but not sure how rough it would be to get that currency

Voice of the Storm was expensive this league because it was used on int stacking wanders which were popular due to Adorned scaling. At the same time, Breach feels bad to farm because you get splinters from most other content anyway.
Yeah i did have a look at that but even with the innovate buff it is only just more than other gems and you would not get that damage on bossing. If the base gem gave a little more damage it would probably be worth running
@@FuzzyDuckzy Yeah it's pretty clunky to work with, but if put on a secondary attack like leap slam you get that buff on your main link when it procs. Unfortunately it doesn't work with bossing but on league start it may be worth the free damage.
All the chests in demolition can only spawn in 68+ except for the "?" chests. These more often than not contain chaos orbs so you can make around 1-2 chaos per minute. Not amazing but at league start being able to get 60c-100c in an hour in the campaign is worth so much early on
Any thoughts on raider vs champ? I enjoy strike skills aswell and was thinking LS raider. Curious as to why youre not going that route, champ QoL and tank? I play ssf. Played frost blades trickster and was shocked at how good it was in SSF
I like champ for this version because everything works together. This budget setup won't work on raider. I personally wouldn't start LS in SSF but would do it as a second character. I haven't played it from scratch in a few leagues though so may be wrong

Yeah I think the main thing for me with Champion in SSF is the belt. It adds so much. This build without the belt and the swords is not really a build so I agree it is definitely not something to start in SSF. The uniques are all pretty common so you will pick them up at some point, but by then you probably will not need a cheap league starter
Think ur better off not coping with lightning strike and doing anything else elemental melee. Using a blessing + smite to double damage is so giga cringe when i did it for my armor stacker this league i highly don't recommend doing it
Haha needs must. It won’t be for everyone. Smite is no different to cursing a boss or putting brands down so it doesn’t bother me and I’m used to the adrenaline tech
Check out the 3.24 build guide as this video was made before the reveal and was just a testing video The build can farm invitations if you gear it with voice of the storms. The difficulty will be that all maps will now have the league mechanic modifiers on them, so it is very hard to say what level the build will need to get to There is a crit transition pob in the main guide that would 100% be able to invitation farm
Essences will be the best thing to farm as you just make sure you have your vaal charges up and you will melt essence monsters. Deli i think it might struggle with consistent damage. I am currently doing scoured Jungle valley maps farming altars and deli mirrors and it works great, but juicing deli definitely not
It is pretty tanky as league starters go as you will have around 50k armour and evasion, fortify, adrenaline ,close to max suppression and tons of instant leech instances. Early on chaos resistance is probably going to be the main issue as it costs a lot to get choas res capped, but early on it should not matter too much.
I probably would not min max this version, but the skill yes I plan to push it as far as I can. I just want to find a way to not have to use Doryanis as I really do not like it

It felt ok to me but you have to make sure you keep smite up where you can and make sure you are getting in your full damage when Vaal LS is up and make sure you are used to the double hit mechanic. Check your dps against the one in the POB to make sure gear is comparable It is a mapper, so straight up bossing won't be good it's just something you do once and never again

I would wait until Patch notes. I hate EA totems personally and to do Ubers it needs a lot of investment. Pennance brand is 100% going to get nerfed. If PB does not get nerfed that is 100% the skill to go for, but it sucks hard for anything but bossing in my opinion. Honestly if you want to do everything I think you need more than 1 character as a character that may be great at Ubers may suck at deli mapping. A mapping character may suck at simulacrums and so forth If you want an all in build to do everything check out onemanaleftbehind/Connor Converse. His build will be super expensive but should do everything. However I do not think he brings levelling guides out so you will need to work out how to get there As another shout out bigdaddy always plays armour stacker and does all content but this is mirrors so it depends how much currency you end up with
If you wanted to go really hard you would probably transition into a crit + claw + omni version but this costs a lot of divines. I would think for 5-10 divines this build will do most content but it is not a build to min max just designed as a cheap starter.

Im not sure I haven’t had it happen. The way boss fights work in Poe though is that if you leave after getting killed there is a chance the boss continues that mechanic. You get a grace period when you go back in. If you let that run out it might stop it. I’ve never had an issue with eater but the game is full of bugs. Also if you do die in boss fights wait a few seconds before resurrecting in town

@@reecedactyl Oh if it is just the beam just keep moving as he will target behind you. Learning the voicelines that go along with moves will help you know when you can DPS and when you need to run
in the POB you have Conductivity curse on ring , but you still kept the hits have chance to treat resistance as if inverted, I personally think if you are running exposure plus curse the mastery will just reduce your damage by like 50%, 25% of the times

I'm going to be honest, 10m burst DPS on a melee skill is nowhere near "Endgame scaling". That's not really enough damage for Ubers, The Feared, Deep Delve, Void maps, or corrupted 5 mod max quant Invitations. Probably just enough DPS for Simu wave 30, even 100% 5 mods corrupted Deli maps would be rough. I think to call it endgame viable you'd need like 30m, but even then you have bad uptime on that damage too. Still, I won't ignore the fact it's probably the second strongest melee starter with a pretty fun playstyle.

The swords play a bit part in the build and perseverance is pretty much mandatory so might be a bit rough in SSF

Might be under too much gem pressure, but innervate support may get you some more damage in.

Do the new fort gloves seem good for this?
No they are bad for champion as the 20 fortification stacks are fixed so basically these gloves just give 20% attack speed

I dont aim league starters for that content. This build will not be able to do that content as is purely designed to perform well in week 1

It won't work with any ascendancy other than champion as a lot of the builds damage and defences come from the ascendancy

It is less damage and Vaal Lightning Strike is a key part for bossing damage in maps as it gives you around 100% more damage

Raider wouldn't work as you need perma fortify and aura effect to scale the damage

Honestly if you want to do everything I think you need more than 1 character as a character that may be great at Ubers may suck at deli mapping. A mapping character may suck at simulacrums and so forth
If you want an all in build to do everything check out onemanaleftbehind/Connor Converse. His build will be super expensive but should do everything. However I do not think he brings levelling guides out so you will need to work out how to get there
As another shout out bigdaddy always plays armour stacker and does all content but this is mirrors so it depends how much currency you end up with

What about min maxing? How good it is now compared to previous LS
If you wanted to go really hard you would probably transition into a crit + claw + omni version but this costs a lot of divines. I would think for 5-10 divines this build will do most content but it is not a build to min max just designed as a cheap starter.

Proj nerf + nightblade was kinda harsh.
All of your builds have been pretty solid. LS has issues, but I love the vaal version. I'm definitely playing this.
Same. Lightning Strike is definitely not a top 10 skill but it is good fun which is the reason I want to start it

Will this build switch to claw so you can use whirling blades
Yeah once you have currency you can switch to a crit claw variant but I would not start with it as it does really need currency

Im not sure I haven’t had it happen. The way boss fights work in Poe though is that if you leave after getting killed there is a chance the boss continues that mechanic. You get a grace period when you go back in. If you let that run out it might stop it. I’ve never had an issue with eater but the game is full of bugs. Also if you do die in boss fights wait a few seconds before resurrecting in town

@@reecedactyl Oh if it is just the beam just keep moving as he will target behind you. Learning the voicelines that go along with moves will help you know when you can DPS and when you need to run

Eventually yes but for this version you can just ignore the cluster and path to the reservation nodes at the bottom left to fit in your auras
in the POB you have Conductivity curse on ring , but you still kept the hits have chance to treat resistance as if inverted, I personally think if you are running exposure plus curse the mastery will just reduce your damage by like 50%, 25% of the times
Thanks. Like I said trees are work in progress I will get that changed. I'm still not 100% a curse on hit ring will be worth the money still tinkering with the gear

I'm going to be honest, 10m burst DPS on a melee skill is nowhere near "Endgame scaling". That's not really enough damage for Ubers, The Feared, Deep Delve, Void maps, or corrupted 5 mod max quant Invitations. Probably just enough DPS for Simu wave 30, even 100% 5 mods corrupted Deli maps would be rough. I think to call it endgame viable you'd need like 30m, but even then you have bad uptime on that damage too. Still, I won't ignore the fact it's probably the second strongest melee starter with a pretty fun playstyle.
Yeah I mean end game for early league. I don't knnow any melee builds that would do all that content without mirrors invested.

U need nimis to do good damage with lightning strike, so if u haven't it skill is bad be honest
