My God I was stunned when I first time turned Doom3. I had GeForce4 Ti4200 128MB. Which was Good card, but Doom molested this card in 1124x768 on my 19 inch Syncmaster.
I'm really enjoying this video so far, but like, why does every single video essay on Doom REQUIRE a 2 minute history on Classic Doom. I know I'm nit-picking, but like, who's gonna watch this video and not know about Doom's history?
As weird as it sounds, someone can watch this or any other DOOM 3 video without knowing fully DOOM 1/2. With the new games it's the same thing. I know ppl that know about the newer games without knowing the original games, even less their history.
I am still keepin an eye on your channel, and lemme tell you I love supporting small creators. Either way: if you wanna do more OG Doom content, the wide crazy world of mods and WADs are another world entirely. Lotta talking points, and truly eternal.
THE game for Halloween (one of at least). About the Steam Library shenanigans, Id re-organized some of their games in the Steam Store, and apparently now if you want to buy DOOM 3, you receive the whole stuff, hence why you got the BFG edition and RoE for free out of nowhere. Happened to me too and apparently it affected other games but I'm not sure. Good vid and if I can get a little touchy here, I really like your videos and specifically your voice and how you manage to NOT sound monotone. I also (as a pure hobby) want to upload videos with a similar format, but sometimes I lose inspiration to do it. And then I saw your videos and remember why and how I want to do it. So thank you!
Also to continue nitpicking as a means to point out your expositional dump couldve included Doom 64, as that was technically the third main entry that wasnt Plutonia + TNT (actually just maps and a few new textures, as amazing as they are).
The intro gave me an idea, im going to just start referring all fps as doom clones, flat out, just to be dismissive of them. Battle field? Doom clone. COD? Doom clone. Borderlands? Looter doom clone
The main thing that Doom 2 changed aside from just mapd and 1 legendary, meta changing weapon.. was the monster roster making the core of the combat loop or puzzles for 30 years further. The engine was also changed a bit from Doom 1. Also the source code came out in 1997, but its nitpicking.
Good video but I think a pop filter would serve you well. There is something, either your plosives or you tapping the desk/mic all through this video. Very noticeable wearing AirPods.
this stupid fov trend reminds me of fisheye lens music videos from the 90s. who knew gamers in the future would want their video games to look like a beastie boys video.
I'm trying to think about the intro to this video. It doesn't work for me. I think that I was generally entertained by what you had to say in the intro but it took too long to get to Doom 3. A lot of what you had to say probably should have been cut, or in a Doom 1/2 video. I think the first 5 minutes of this video should have been cut down to 30 seconds.

Ah, I love doom 3, especially toward the end of the game, and the area design is really cool :3
I remember playing doom for the first time in 94 or 95 and being absolutely amazed.
Inevitable f.e.a.r vid? 🤔🤔🤔

Because not everyone is as old as probably you and I, and don't know really, REALLY, how important Doom was, particularly Doom 2.

Expecting everyone to know the history is just not common sense. 2 minutes in a long video isnt that bad, Doom kinda deserves the praise to be honest.

3:27 there's a cancelled doom game called "doom 4", luckily there's some gameplay of it on youtube
Am I the only person that doesn't hate the shotgun
Try the "Thing" game from that time
What mod are you using for the classic doom footage ?

Why me like the dooms 2 more than doom3? The brutalisk modifier is also better than the new doom eternity
