I had a No Valid Object Selected error when doing this. I found out you have to make sure Selected to Active is not checked as it is in the video lol Drove me nuts because this video looked so simple... was just my sillyness having that checked!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH THIS IS GREAT.
When I then done all this steps, what do I need to assign or do in Giants Editor for it to work? Like with the AO map do I need to like add that to albedo map or? And do I have to UDIM it in blender first like applying a material like color 0 in the selectable colors in blender (the tool for farming sim in blender) for the AO to work properly in GE? Thx for creating this tutorial!!
using 3.4 and for some reason when i click bake it just makes it blank with clear image enabled, and cuts the shapes of the object into the image without.
The ambient occlusion is part of the specular texture. Not sure why u would want it added direct to the diffuse. Unless i have misunderstood the question. Can u be more specific on what u are wanting to do pls?
@@shywizard2979 im wanting to have a baked texture with both color and shadows, i have a texture of what i want that someone else did i can send u a pic
@@jordyjohnson7588 If u have both the ao & diffuse textures u can use paint.net or similar to combine the textures using the multiply setting. U can also use Blender to do this with a simple shader node setup.
I should have had this memorized by now, but I still have to come back and watch it everytime I do an AO bake. Thanks again.
Thanks again, great video and explanation. 🙂

Great video. Thank you
But do the AOs depend on the marking of the seem?

giants engine don't use AO bake. they use specular / diffuse / normal maps
Helpful video, thank you!
But do AOs depend on the power of the PC?

Please help, I wonder why my bake button is missing from my render tab. I'm using 2.93.
U need to be in Cycles to bake textures as it's not supported in Eevvee.
Thank you!!!
can you do this in Blender 3.0 ?
The bake option seems to be removed (or moved) in Blender 3.0?
Still in the same place.
Make sure u are Cycles render engine not Eevee.
@@shywizard2979 Thanks, that was the issue! 🤦♂
Baked AO is used instead of which parameter in material?
And what is the use of baking AO
How would i get a texture of both ambient occlusion and color?

Great video, BUT next time wait to record it for when your cold is over. The sniffing made me crazy ^^
Dude, please for the love of god learn how to control your cursor when you're trying to explain things. So distracting
