I try to buy everything I can when it is buy one/get one. Also, we eat some strange combinations for lunch sometimes because we refuse to throw out any food. Saves a lot of $.
I love eating strange combinations too, sometimes they taste better than refusal combinations 😁💕
Great shopping trip. I can't believe how inexpensive some of your produce is compared to where I live in the US. Our egg prices have gone up again. $4.53 at Aldi last week. Didn't buy any. celery was $1.50 this week and I did get some. The last couple times I've gone grocery shopping, almost everything I purchased was from the reduced sections.
I've been subbed to you about six months, and the prices are much higher now than they were then. I made many changes in 2024 to be frugal and I was very impressed with how much less the UK paid for vegetables compared to the US. They are not dramatically lower now. I'm sad for that. I ate more vegetables in 2024 than at any other time in my life. Vegetables are cheap. Only now they are not so cheap. It's as though 'they' watch to see how we are surviving and then they charge more, tax it more, regulate it more, or outlaw it altogether. Sheesh.
I know, I remember all the cheap cut of meat you could get. Now they are sky high because apparently chefs made them popular to cook with 💕

@@frugallizzybeeno, there’s scarcity with avian influenza!! It’s going around again and my daughter paid over $6 a dozen this week at a normal grocery store, not anything upscale.

Wish I could get that sort of stuff. But I'm only entitled to UC, and after bills, I'm normally have £150ish for everything else, including paying off debts. It's really difficult

Hi, like u I watch my shopping budget. But I shop with a butcher & farm shop. I have a milk delivery too. I spend much less on the meat because they have good offers, do you have one near u??
No unfortunately I don't, the one by me is not very good quality is not great and is very expensive. I do use a butcher online and now my freezer is getting low I'm hoping to place an order. I portion it up and it lasts for ages :)
Feels like food has gone up in price again. Will it ever stop.

I wish I could afford to buy, unfortunately I'm renting. But I do know people who clean that have bought their own homes, it can be very good money 💕
