in my last job (started 2011 ish) every time i got a payrise each year i lived the same and saved the difference 50% pension and 50% savings. i have also always had several bank accounts i bit like the jam jar principal (one for bills, one set amount for home savings if anything comes up, same with a car account & i give myself the day after payday my allowance for the month in another account, its not a lot but enough). i also if there is anything left in the bill account at month end i transfer it to savings (so i start from £0 each month on the bill account . its surprising how the little bits mount up in savings once you start

Oh the dreaded mum guilt! We all suffer from it you’re not alone

Being frugal means I could retire early from a job that was making me physically and mentally ill. I still have 9 years until I get my state pension so I'm living on a teeny teacher's pension. I've just moved to a much smaller house to cut my costs. That seemed drastic to my friends but I'm doing what I need to do to live well on less money! I'm with you on the Heinz salad cream!!! Thanks for all your inspiration and ignore the haters! 🙂

I can say that switching to LED bulbs def reduces the electric bill. Our monthly service/dlvry charge is actually higher than power usage charge here on Long Island NY. (quite aggravating )I also love using a nightlight in each room. We live close to street lamps so light colored curtains without shades also give a substantial amount of light at night. But for those who don't, Solar garden lights are helpful e.g.. in a windowbox.🪴🌠

I cut open tubes - toothpaste, handcream etc to scrape out the last bits. Then clean the tube & pop it into Boots or Asda recycling.

Reusable toilet paper.

Look up and down at the supermarket - the most expensive stuff, like the top brand of an item is usually at eye level.

Frugality - saving on the things that don't matter to you, to be able to splurge on the things that do.

I use community larders as you said they are for everyone and their main aim is to reduce food waste Think ppl who don't understand should Google it before making nasty comments Ignore them Hun I watch all your videos just don't comment a lot x Definitely look at bottom shelf in supermarkets I'm with you on heinz salad cream though 😂

I don’t use kitchen roll anymore I use microfibre cloths 😊

I bought a mini solar powered generator and I use that to light my living room in the evenings and charge my phone 😊

I use the olio app to stop food going to landfill in my local area and it’s great. 😊

I'm so sorry that people make bad comments about using the food pantry. To me frugal means that I am in control of my spending and I can choose where i spend my day. I do a lot of your frugal suggestions ❤

Hello not-lizzie you again. Seriously, you don't have to justify yourself to strangers on the internet. You're doing great. I'd love to one day see you treat yourself better than putting yourself through this over and over. When people are making these comments, they are showing that they haven't properly listened to what you've said, so why would they listen properly when you say it again in the explaining videos. Xxx

Lizzy I leave the microwave on because It’s digital and I don’t know how t reset the clock on it. Prices have increased but my budget hasn’t - I changed how I shop. I now shop around at 4 supermarkets all close together. I prepay utilities, I shop half price specials and buy 2 at that price. With my new strategy I am often under budget. My one luxury though is Heinz English Salad Cream. Also I no longer buy breadcrumbs - I now buy cheap flavoured snack biscuits and blitz them to make bread crumbs for coating chicken and meats etc. it’s much nicer than plain breadcrumbs and cheaper to buy no brand snack biscuits than seasoned crumbs.

I received free samples shamppoo conditioner if we have anything lightly used like a giggle puzzles I regift gifts

I use reusable scrap clothes

We are starting to only gift giving to my grandchildren but one ingredient use it in multiple recipes like beans
