- Hi Guys, in this video I show you my garlic harvest, Yei!!!
I pop to the food pantry and to Lidl to do a food haul and then I have a lovely batch cooking day to fill up the freezer with loads of ready meals :)

One of your strengths is the ability to enjoy all the 'small' things in life... your garden, food, your crafting, the neighbor's cat...those are in fact not small things but essentials.

I not only think basic cooking should be taught in schools but also budgeting money should also be taught instead of things they would never use for the rest of their lives. I don't know if they still do it in some schools but we (boys and girls) used to do gardening, woodwork, metalwork, sewing the lot!
I don't know if they do, but they definitely should budgeting is a great one 💕

I know how hard it is my Mum had dementia bless her I lived with her to take care of her . At times you don't know if your coming or going , wish you and your family all the best my friend.
I know the onion dish that is served with poppadoms, I always thought it was a bit sweeter than regular tomato sauce. But my friends mother always put raw onion mixed woth tomato sauce on a salad. In Ireland in the 80's. It was delicious, I loved it. She certainly didn't get the idea from an Indian restaurant, though, not sure where it came from. We didn't have an Indian restaurant around our parts until about 20 years later 😂. That was a fun memory, thanks 😊.

Are you able to get carer's allowance for looking after your dad?
The slugs are brutal this year, I'm out at least once a day picking them off my plants before they eat everything. I've lost count of the number of bean and squash seedlings I've planted to try and outpace them.
Your plantain salve sounds great, please make a video when you make it!

I've heard you can keep slugs off your plants by surrounding them with stuff the slugs will have difficulty...sliding?....over, like broken eggshell or cut open and unrolled steel wool. Might be worth trying these to reduce the amount of money you spend on slug pellets, or indeed in addition to slug pellets. Obviously there's also salt, but that might mess with the balance of nutrients in the soil.
Oh dear, sounds like things are difficult with your dad at the moment. Make sure you are in touch with social services because he could be entitled to a carers allowance which would help you financially. You must make sure you find time for yourself because caring is a very tiring job. Your dad is lucky to have you and your son, make sure you look after yourself xxx

Hi lizzie your having it rough lately you winge away my grandson had cooking and half the time he used to bring it home half cooked so it went inthe bin when j was at senior school back jn the 60s we had a full morning of cooking and we had to clean up after our selves
I can't get my head around it, I think teaching children to cook is really important 💕
@@frugallizzybee it is all my grandchildren baked with me and the 2girls cook but my 20year old grandson would rather order in for a pizza me and his dad has said ho morrisons and get 2pizzas you pick the filling and bu, y something for pud but he doesn't
@@frugallizzybee no I can't Lizzy we used to have all afternoon in domestic science as they called it it was cookery to us girls and we had to cook from scratch we had to take money in for an egg and butter but every thing else we had to bring in .we eould have half the lesson baking and the other half theory and what we were making next week and the golden rule was no running in the kitchen if I see masterchef and I always scream at the TV if j see anyone run no running in the kitchen .
Put out some shallow dishes of beer. Slugs love beer and they will crawl in and drown.
