  • There have been so many ups and downs on this parenting autism journey. And I have focused most of my energy to the positives. That's where I want to live. But I think as we enter these teenage years, we are looking at some hard parts ahead. And I'm feeling a bit lost.

Just out of curiosity, have you guys tried the brushing protocol with Cooper? Has Cooper tried a weighted blanket?

Please watch your husband's symptoms and get medical care ASAP. My husband wasn't diagnosed with Lyme's or tick fever, but has showed symptoms for several years now. He cannot eat red meats or processed foods due to flare ups and when he does he will have joint pain, stiffness, low grade fever and cannot do anything until it eases. I will be thinking of y'all and please keep us updated.

Lyme’s Disease could affect him VERY long-term. You can check this out but I think less likely to be lifelong if treated early. I think the minimum would be a test and then antibiotics. It is a bacteria that can spread to several areas. Test now for lowest risk for continued problems and lowest risk for a lot more medical costs!

My sister and I have had puberty and I used to have a lot of behavior issues. It will get better. I went through it when it came to my behaviors for years. I do have to admit I had a lot of behaviors in my early teens. And I even had some of those behaviors in my early 20s 2 about mid 20s. And I’m going to be 30 in two days. My birthday is this coming Thursday. I feel old. I hope you can figure out what’s going on with Cooper’s account situation and hopefully you can get him logged back into his phone. I think if the Apple phone line can’t help I think another good option would be to take his phone into geek squad while he’s at school or something and have it looked at. I think the geek squad might be able to help you out if Apple can’t. I think the route you might have to go. You might have to factory reset the phone and sign into it as if it were a brand new phone. If you can still get into settings, you could go to reset and try to reset the phone that way. If all else fails, you could see about getting another phone through your provider and trying to login through his iPad into the phone if it’s an apple iPhone. I think there’s still deals going on with Verizon and straight talk for 5G iPhones on sale. If that is still going on, that might be something to look into. You might be able to find a really good deal on a new iPhone. I don’t know if Metro by T-Mobile is still running theirs but if they are, that’s another possibility. I just thought I’d point that out as another option and I hope that helps. I’m sure Cooper will still be able to go to school. If he has a good special ed program at school, they should know how to work with kids like him. Especially kids who are going through puberty. I do hope you and Jamie start to feel better. How is he doing now? phone.

You just threw out the weight management meds. I am assuming he did not start the weight management meds right before the “moods took over”. You might want to make it clear at some point for those not subscribing.

Looked it up - 90% of people treated with antibiotics have no further problem. 10% do have lifelong issues. Research cannot tell you % of those who never got it treated - it is like not being able to prove a negative (or really an unknown number). However, I do know that many of the people with long-term problems did not get treated early (after you take the 10% that did). Just look it up a little more. Make a question you ask….
