I'm an introverted artist. I've been doing this for five years now and I'm not going to lie I often get discouraged especially when I see other who just started in the game make it and I'm going to lie they usually are the extroverted ones. I don't want to change my authentic self and who I truly am just for am industry but I still want to keep releasing. It's a conflicting battle. People love my stuff I just feel like I struggle a lot with exposure. The last time I reached out to a host to perform at I got scammed $150 so because of stuff like that(which this is not the first time including a scam I had from an agency charging me $500, showing up to venues where the security won't let me in because the host didn't tell them who I was, get overcharged for features because I seem "innocent") I'm pretty hesitant of reaching out to people. I usually wait for others to reach out to me.
Needed to hear this. I have a talent musically, but im afraid to put my voice out there. I make beats on bandlab & enjoy letting people sing/rap on them. I want to get my songs on tv & commercials. I realized that i don't need fame to be successful
My biggest issue is $$$. I have hella music but most of the beats I have used are RUclips type beats and i understand that, producers want to be paid for their beats. so of course i don't release said music bc I have no bread to buy whole beats and shii like that. Honestly I've never ever bought a lease nor RUclips beat before. Never went through the process. I use to make my own beats but I got complacent and out of touch and don't really know how to mix my beats that are good for proper radio quality. Not a social media person either and nowadays social media plays a huge part in connecting with fans and getting your music out there. Im also self conscious about my music bc I don't have a distinct style or voice. Im always being compared to other artists and it's not the intention I go.
