Research objectives
1.3.1. General objectives
The overall goal of the study will be to assess the cause and psychosocial impacts of divorce on divorced women supported at the WMWCCDP.
1.3.2. Specific objectives
o To identify the major causes divorce among WMWCCDP;
o To investigate the psychological impacts of divorce on women.
o To describe impacts divorce on the social relations of divorced women.
o To investigate the impact of divorce on children’s well-being from mothers’ perspectives.
1.4. Research questions
 What are the major causes of divorce?

1.2. Statement of the problem
Good marriage has been the greatest and most important of all social institutions in the human society. People marry for many reasons such as legal, social, libidinal, emotional, economic, spiritual, and religious. These might include arranged marriages, family obligations, legal establishment of a nuclear family unit, legal protection of children, and public declaration of commitment (Behere,2019).
Marriage is an important relationship between a man and a woman. People marry for many reasons such as love, legitimate sexual relationship, happiness, comradeship, desire to have children, and physical attraction. A strong physical and emotional bond between a married couples makes an essential contribution to the common good for the family and the larger society in a specific culture (Hashmi, Khurshid, & Hassan, 2007).
In India, it is popular belief that marriage is a cure for different forms of mental disorders ranging from hysteria to psychoses. Marriage may reduce mental health problems through its effects on social support and intimate connection (George & Anderson,2011).
But martial dissolution happens due to economic, social, psychological and other life courses (Fura,Ethiopia). Another studies explain that economic problem, drug addiction problem, fertility problem, pressure from friends, families and difference in religion and even early marriage are directly related to increase divorce (Serkalem, 2006).
