Serj Tankian was the first artist to give a voice to how I felt inside as a child. I could sense that things were wrong, but couldn't put it to words. The first song I ever heard by them, believe it or not, was "This cocaine makes me feel like I'm on this song" The lyrics "theres nothing wrong with me, theres something wrong with you" helped validate my growing distrust of the establishment. Thank you Serj for boldly singing the words I couldn't find as a child, your voice has changed my life for the better.
For someone who's been in a metal band for way over 10 years, this is amazing. So much respect to Serj.

"The brightness of tomorrow" has a bit of irony in it there, in my opinion. I think he's talking about the evolution of technology, and everything that seems bright in our eyes but leads to the death of civilization, killing feelings and everything human we have left, and if you look back, all of the civilizations that evolved so much are wiped off the face of the earth, including Ancient Egypt, Roman Empire, Atlantis(theory) and others.. And now maybe, the time has come for the whole humanity!
