They don't need Blade to be mobile or active, having him crippled by wounds and incapacitated, having to battle with vampires through cunning and trickery. Make a horror house movie where vampires try to infiltrate his safehouse and get slaughtered by traps, have a reveal at the end that one of their mortal stooges was Blades daughter all along or something.
Blade and Spawn the animated series are two absolutely perfect adaptations that should be put on a bloody pedestal, admired as paragons of adaptation and left the hell alone.
The way I see it, they have few options. a) Hire Snipes, and work with his limitations. b) Do an animated film with Snipes' voice. c) Recast him. Which would be extremely difficult. The only guy I think might be close is Michael Jai White, who also is older than Disney may like. However, as seriously as Snipes took the character, I doubt the direction Disney wants to go would fly with him, anyway. Without Reynolds in at least a producer role to have his back, I see a and b as a non-starter. An uphill battle, you might even say.
I honestly don't get why its so hard for them to just make a cool blade movie. Have some awesome actor portray him, get some john wick type style action in it with interesting vampire lore and boom you can have a summer blockbuster.

Got your back, Arch... It's easy. Animated Blade. Voice of Wesley Snipes, body of an ageless cartoon. Be it cartoon graphics like with the Riddik one, or tweeked CGI style like Death Stranding. (Ai could actually be useful here by animating the punching bag vampires he blitzes thru in fight scenes) We have multiple movies and shows Wesley has done over the years for voice lines, without restoring to an AI voice simulation too. Hes done so many action movies already, we should be good if he just does a bunch of lines that can be reused along with the grunts and groans of his character getting hit, and hitting back in return.

But regardless, the man owned the role and gave us one of the most iconic characters in movies, despite it being a movie with very little plot and intrigue. Because it didn't need any, complexity simply got in the way of him kicking ass. "You can't take away people's right to be assholes"
Wesley snipes.
Blade and Spawn the animated series are two absolutely perfect adaptations that should be put on a bloody pedestal, admired as paragons of adaptation and left the hell alone.
So true there is only one blade and it can't be redone it started the Marvel Universe craze
Just make old man blade. He's only a half-vampire. Just have him be old and have his final battle.
There is only one Blade, and his name is Wesley Snipes.
No Snipes, no peace
I believe this movie is dead in the water.
How could they stop the "first" black superhero movie from being made 😢. Hollywood is racist.
There’s only ever gonna be ONE Blade, no matter what they do.
I honestly don't get why its so hard for them to just make a cool blade movie. Have some awesome actor portray him, get some john wick type style action in it with interesting vampire lore and boom you can have a summer blockbuster.
Oh I remember watching films in the 90s, like Blade where two guys hung out, lived together, argued like a old married couple and it still didn't look gay nor did majority lambast it as such.
They should just do an animated Blade with Wesley Snipes voice acting.
After the first movie every comic and video game version of Blade was based on Snipes and retroactively adjusted his origins so he had the same power set
Yup, re-watching blade tonight
Got your back, Arch...
It's easy. Animated Blade. Voice of Wesley Snipes, body of an ageless cartoon.
Be it cartoon graphics like with the Riddik one, or tweeked CGI style like Death Stranding.
(Ai could actually be useful here by animating the punching bag vampires he blitzes thru in fight scenes)
We have multiple movies and shows Wesley has done over the years for voice lines, without restoring to an AI voice simulation too.
Hes done so many action movies already, we should be good if he just does a bunch of lines that can be reused along with the grunts and groans of his character getting hit, and hitting back in return.
Snipes' Blade was my introduction to Marvel when I was... arguably far too young to be watching Blade. But regardless, the man owned the role and gave us one of the most iconic characters in movies, despite it being a movie with very little plot and intrigue. Because it didn't need any, complexity simply got in the way of him kicking ass. The fact that modern Hollywood is so void of creativity, spine and intelligence they can't create a "dumb action movie" really showcases how deep in the sh*t they actually are.
Just remember my white friends. We will always have Tarzan.
Can anyone even think of an actor who could step into that role?
Still trying to ice skate uphill I see.
There is a lot of things Holly Wood can't do anymore.
I really need to watch the Blade movies.
Do yourself a huge favor and realize there are only two of them.
Do not watch the third one. 1 + 2 is the perfect combo.
@@BlazingOwnagerhuh there is a third movie?, i have only seen 1 and 2 :O
I remember getting a 4 movie DVD of Blade. It had Blade 1-3 and the 4th one was weird "Blade" movie that had a different actor.
They should have just kept the first 3.
They would print money if they just did a new blade with snipes. And the fans would go wild. Its a win win
Someone made a Blade anime in 2011, to half decent results. Luckily that was completed before the modern audience nonsense took off in 2014 or so.
There was a Blade TV show. It was not terrible without Wesley Snipes. But it was in 2006, before the big dumb.
I could so write a 40k episodic series. Advertising would be very very upset.
After Snipes showed up in the Deadpool movie, eveyone knew there can only be one blade. Make another Snipes Blade movie, for he actually enjoyed those movies.
Blade was such an awesome character. Its amazing how they cant make a new movie work.
YES! I dont mind someone taking over the role but not now. Not Disney. Snipes was plenty enough Blade in Deadpool for me this decade.
After what they did to Dune I'm relieved this isn't happening.
I wonder how much, if at all, this was influenced by Snipes' role in Deadpool.
