- Steph Curry showed some of the top guards in the nation some shooting challenges that he likes to do while training at his SC30 Select Camp this past week. This was the second challenge and it really put into perspective just how amazing of a shooter Steph is. Steph went against Jordan McCabe, Jahvon Quinerly and Tyler Harris. He didn't warm up, he just stepped into the challenge and did this, hardly breaking a sweat.

But think about it though. Making it through this drill means you're shooting about 70% percent over 5 spots and 3 different ranges. So you can't even groove at 1 range. Considering that a "good" shooting percentage in the NBA is above 40% from 3 range, this is crazy demanding... and Steph just breezes through it. Disgusting.
Steph probably shoots like 85% from 3 in practice. That's what it takes to shoot 40% from 3 in the NBA. Even Lebron can make a high percentage in practice, the difference comes down to in-game scenarios with hundreds of variables that affect your shot.

Difference was all 3 of these kids were highly recruited with JQ being a 5 star. Curry was not big recruit from HS thats why he didnt get many offers. But clearly he had the talent which broke thru in college.

His jump shot is unique in that he doesn’t really pull the ball back just before releasing it like almost every other player, he just goes straight up in one fluid motion.

You can tell these kids forms change as they go through these progressions as it does to most young players that aren’t conditioned for that kind of shooting haul. Steph goes through the whole series of shots with the same form, lift and rotations on the ball.
