These reminded me of my mother. She used to grow them. They're such beautiful flowers, but I've never grown them myself. I might have to try to squeeze some in. Thanks!
Midwest Gardener How sweet!😊 It was my pleasure! I hope you give them a try, I’ll be keeping an eye out for your results. Thanks for watching! Happy gardening!
I kinda like the wispy skinniness of the unpinched plant. I wouldn’t have known except for you showing me, thank you. May I share my favorite yt ministry showing Bible prophecy fulfilling is Saved To Serve.
This flower is so beautiful and one beautiful thing about it is that it is one of those flowers which are impossible to kill after you have grown them once in your garden ,it brings tons and tons of seeds and spreads as it's a weed, just 4 plants in my garden and they covered a total of 50 square metres in my garden spreading radially ,omg the beauty of the orange ones really ties my vision
I am in Florida and decided to begin Cosmos from seed in pots. When they got about 12 inches tall after pinching I decided to put them into the ground. Meanwhile a couple days later I noticed two of the 6 plants were cut off by 8 inches, decapitated and leafless. Next thing you know all of them day after day were victim to the same thing. Chopped off and only a stem 5 inches remains. What do you think could have done this and do you think they will grow back?

Seedlings indoors now 6 weeks. In Phila PA. I’m told don’t plant til Mother’s Day. What say you? Fearful chipmunks, squirrels, and rabbits will feast..
This was absolutely AWESOME, thank you so so much!!! Thumbs UP! I'm planting three acres of them. If left to themselves, will they reseed in fall? Orrrr do I have to do something else to keep that meadow producing cosmos?
They will reseed all over! I Always plant fresh seeds every season just to be sure. I would love to see a picture of your flower field! Happy gardening! 😊
You pinch when the plant has 3 sets of true leaves. It will make the plant branch out. Watch my How to Grow a cut Flower video, I demonstrate pinching on that video.
Love Cosmos...I want to save seeds but in order to save seeds you have to let the blooms die right off and stay there, so by doing this and. not pinching them off you won't get as many blooms coming back up?
I have a question. I bought a pack of cosmos seeds and planted them on the 10th after 7 days every single seed germinated and they are all between 5-6 inches. They are also planted extremely close to each other in the pot. With some of the sprouts I have 4 in a 1 inch circle. Is it safe to leave them growing like that or do they need to be spread apart. Any advice would be wonderful. This is my first time attempting to grow anything
Hi! If you’re planting them in the ground mix compost & manure with garden soil into your native soil. If in a container potting soil with a little compost. Happy gardening!😊🌱🌸
Wow...I recently planted some Sensation cosmos with some newly purchased seed. My first attempt with some old seed didn’t germinate. But wow...I planted the new seed on a Sunday afternoon and by Wednesday morning they had emerged with some seedlings already an inch tall. We had a couple of nice soaking rains the night before they came up, totally unexpected, and they must have enjoyed that! My mother used to grow zinnias and cosmos in her flower garden, so they remind me of her.
Mice video. Wish you had shown how to pinch/cut back for a fuller plant and how to deadhead and then this video had been such an amazing complete information on Cosmos.
Nazish N. True. I’ll be sure to show how I do it on future videos. I pinch out when they have 3 sets of true leaves right in the center. Thanks your input and thanks for watching!
Oh my goodness! What is that flower in the center of the arrangement that you made??? The dark pink one! It could just be my phone, but it looks like it's fuzzy! It looks so interesting!
Thanks for the info. Cosmos grow naturally in my yard but I am starting some for seed. 1/2 foot of snow on the ground but spring is right around the corner🌞
Thanks for showing the difference between pinched and not pinched plants. Amateur gardeners hear about pinching but without seeing the actual with/without comparison, it can be hard to get yourself to take off nature's "perfectly good growth" while the plant is still young and then end up waiting until it's already large and flopping over.
Thanks for the helpful tutorial. Love the music! I have seedlings inside not a wk old & long & leggy. When I plant outside, should I plant deep because of its lankiness?
Well shoot. You are just lovely. Thank you for this. I just potted up my cosmos and will be planting them in my garden here shortly. I have liked your video (because there was no ‘love’ option) and I subscribed to your channel. Blessings.
Kermit Well... if you mean on average how many blooms per plant? Each plant can produce upwards of 12 plus blooms per plant. Hope that helps. Happy gardening!
What a beautiful garden you have . I am definitely going to grow these this year . I will have to put chicken wire around my flower bed though to keep the rabbits from nibbling them ! :)
Lil Yatiii Hi sweetheart! Yes we miss you all as well. Hope all is going well for you all. Say hello to the boys on their channel Blazen Bros!! Have a blessed week!
Last year I had started cosmos in June, and two of my plants just kept growing and growing. One had to have been over ten feet tall. Didn't even bloom until like October or November before our first frost. I kept taking off lower branches so it'd actually focus on the main flower lol. It was a pain but really cool
These reminded me of my mother. She used to grow them. They're such beautiful flowers, but I've never grown them myself. I might have to try to squeeze some in. Thanks!

Great tips and beautiful bouquet, love it🌸
Thank you!
Do you need to push them into the ground?
Exactly what I needed to know! Thanks!

When do you pinch? Are you talking about pinching spent blooms or something else? Tq.

Who downvotes a sweet channel like this?
Right?
competitors?
Thanks great video, very relaxing and informative!
Hello, can these be grown in georgia zone7b? Are they invasive? Thanks
Yes you can grow them. Start seeds indoors or when temps are around 65-70 degrees F They aren’t invasive. They can self seed if allowed to go to seed.
Great video! Thanks for sharing your knowledge ❤️✌️
My pleasure!
Get video! Thanks for the info. I'm going to plant mine tomorrow.
Very informative.. lovely voice.
when do I need to pinch the Cosmos? Love your channel ❤
Beautiful
hey, how much should you water it?
Water when the soil is dry. They are pretty drought tolerant but need water to keep flowering all season until frost!
I want white rose violet colour cosmos seed
Great video!
im in zone 10b... can i plant direct outdoor now? great video tx

Hi, when or at what height do you pinch out? How much do you take off ? Thanks for sharing
Lovely! Thank you!
Hi I loveee your channel! I’m a new gardener and I was wondering exactly which soil I should use for these
Hi! If you’re planting them in the ground mix compost & manure with garden soil into your native soil. If in a container potting soil with a little compost. Happy gardening!😊🌱🌸

Winnie Lovely! 😄
I have never grown Coms in a flower garden will they attract mason bees or leafcutter bees. and are they easy to grow?
ILjobber1 They are very easy to grow. They attract bees and butterflies! Not so much the leaf cutter bees because the leaves don’t appeal to them.
Gorgeous thank you
Love your video, I just purchased these beauties. I wanted to ask how did you pinch and what did you use to pinch your cosmos?
Fun music & joyful voice!
Great job! Thanks 😊
Do you have any videos on growing zinnias?
Really enjoy your voice and videos! Thank you!
Mice video. Wish you had shown how to pinch/cut back for a fuller plant and how to deadhead and then this video had been such an amazing complete information on Cosmos.
