I never realizes until now but the playstyle of Magic literally reminds me of that one Adventure Time episode where Jake and Finn plays a 3d table card game. If Wizards knew what was good for them, they would bring back Deckbuilders toolkits. They just have no other good ways to get new players into the game. Theres nothing like making decks to give your friends, or teaching them to play and getting them a deck builders tool kit so they can opening packs and building their own decks. All at a reasonable price.

You'd get cards from the prior 3 years worth of legal rotation (if I'm recalling properly). You could make two decks and have a decent number left over cards. But as commander became more popular, it was just seen as giving too many cards to players/ a loss of money on wizards side. When in reality, it was the thing keeping paper magic and new players flowing.

I'm recording every mistake and giving my thoughts until they learn how to play because it's driving me insane😭 - Drews House gambit should've created two treasure tokens, the cards see each other, and since they both share a mana value, it would be two - Following this, his commander played would be a 6/6 since an artifact entered the battlefield not a 4/4 - Charlie takes one damage from a talisman to activate an effect that can be payed with colorless mana??? - Charlie them proceeds to put skullclamp in the graveyard when his creature dies 😭😭😭 - Ryan puts graveyard on opposite side on board? (Not a misplay just really weird 😭) - Charlie proceeds to not return any artifacts on his second dogmeat etb trigger when skullclamp was indeed in his graveyard when it shouldn't have been😭 - Charlie again takes a damage from talisman when he didn't need to changing how he payed for dogmeat - On Matt's following turn he plays liberty prime, when he does this Madison Li should've given him an energy - Putting austere command in a deck based around artifacts and enchantments seems a little wild but it's not that bad considering what they are working with - On dogmeats attack trigger it should've created a junk ON ATTACK not after combat. I know this is nitpicking but it matters... - Ryan's turn is a perfect example of why doing it before combat matters - HUGE big brain moment front Matt, his brain is indeed expanding when he taps liberty during combat - On drews attack he hit two players which means that Sierra would trigger 2 times becuase it's per player you hit - Again charlies pipboy and dogmeats junk trigger happen after combat instead of before combat damage😭 - To be completely honest I forgot that drew had a wasteland but probably should've destroyed the rogues passage earlier - Holy shit charlie did the trigger before hand let's gooo!! 😂😂 - Charlie proceeds to put another equipment into his graveyard for a creature dying... - Drew is just shuffling his library??? - So when the mysterious stranger gets played over the other one you can't just wait for the other player to pick targets and then respond, Ryan shouldn't have been able to play the second one after charlie had already picked his targets. Choosing targets in this instance doesn't happen as an additional cost. If he's already choosing target that means the ability is in the middle of resolving and you can't react in the middle of an ability resolving. I understand this one is a bit harder to understand but it is pretty important since it fucks over charlie. After this resolves charlie would be able to pick other targets and his would still resolve with the other targets. But it should've just not happened... - Again charlie takes more damage from a talisman when he doesn't need to😢 - We just skipped drews turn I guess??? - Drew gets tilted and just concedes for good reason honestly, it's a bit cringe attacking a player that's not really a threat when your other opponent is a threat to you. You could argue charlie swung at him becuase of the swords but even still I'd still be pressuring the person who is an active threat to make the game enjoyable for others. - All of the equipments on dogmeat just go to graveyard. I don't think it would've been enough extra damage to end the game but it definitely would've helped. Also having skullclamp like he should've would've probably just won him the game here or earlier. That's like 30 draw triggers if he wanted from sacrificing his 1/1s. Stuff like this is what drives me insane like this probably would've ended the game a lot sooner if they played correctly... There is so much that they need to learn if they want to do this competitively, if people are trying to learn through watching you guys teaching them incorrectly with no fixes in post. I'm saying this as someone very passionate about the gane and who has been playing for quite a while. I absolutely love this content and some things are bound to be missed (it happens). Our play group has even started doing these box battles, but these misplays are just really really bad. I think Drew heavily missplayed the poker saga. Firstly, it produced a treasure for each card that has the same mv as another card, meaning a pair always gives at least 2 mana. Secondly, you can reveal a 'full house' for example, giving you 5 treasures - 3 because of the three-of-a-kind, and two for the pair. Two-pair gives you 4 treasures also.

I think Drew heavily missplayed the poker saga. Firstly, it produced a treasure for each card that has the same mv as another card, meaning a pair always gives at least 2 mana. Secondly, you can reveal a 'full house' for example, giving you 5 treasures - 3 because of the three-of-a-kind, and two for the pair. Two-pair gives you 4 treasures also.
