Fast rough reference. Ti is half the weight of steel. alu. is half the weight of Alu. Only important issue is weighty to strength ratio. All else a moot issue or advertising gimmick. We Knife Makers use ti because it hold its surface finish many times better than Alu. But weighs more. ;

This is correct. That small part had a failure rate and a lot of subsequent warranty claims from hard hitting platforms.
