Joel 2:25-26 NKJV
[25] “So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, The crawling locust, The consuming locust, And the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you. [26] You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, And praise the name of the Lord your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you; And My people shall never be put to shame.
Joel 2:28 NKJV
[28] “And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions.
Joel 2:32 NKJV
[32] And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the Lord Shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance, As the Lord has said, Among the remnant whom the Lord calls.
God is after our hearts! His goal is not punishment or harm, but love and peace. He is coming. The Lord will return and all those who choose Him will rejoice.
God, help prepare me in my heart, mind, spirit, and actions.
Joel 2:13 NIV
"Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity."
Joel 3:16, "The Lord will roar from Zion and thunder from Jerusalem; the earth and the sky will tremble. But the Lord will be a refuge for his people, a stronghold for the people of Israel."
I love when Tara says to keep a verse with an open hand. God will give us the answers when His time is right. I totally trust in that. Thank y'all to everyone who helps bring TBR to the nations. Y'all have really blessed me. I have never read so much of the Bible before.

God is always after our hearts😢. Even hard things, suffering, that are permitted are to ultimately turn hearts back, or for the first time, to the Lord❤. And He always keeps His promises 🙏🏾. What an amazing God we serve 🙌🏾!

I need to see God show up, not in my own desires, but being faithful to what he says. And his desires are that we would hope in him. Not in ourselves. How fickle we are and how fickle hope is in this world. There’s something bigger going on and at hand in this world. It’s God, working all things. And we can trust in him.
Reading through the Old Testament gives me a better understanding of why the Isrealites had such a HOPE and longing for The Messiah.
“I will pardon my people’s crimes, which I have not yet pardoned; and I, the Lord, will make my home in Jerusalem with my people.””
Joel 3:21 NLT
So beautiful to see God’s restless pursuit to be with his people. Our God is so good and loving.
Placing our hope in God alone is so important. I love what you said about us choosing God because we want to; not just to avoid chaos. Great read!

Aloha, praise the Lord and good morning BR family. Yes, everyday reading God's words have really shown me how great our God is and brought me closer to him. Faith, hope, and trust in the Lord. He is the Alpha and Omega. He is where the JOY is!!
The descriptive writing at the end of chapter 2 in Joel is quoted in the day of Pentecost by Peter. Peter quotes the spirit being poured out as well as the details such as the moon turning to blood and specifically states that Joel's prophecy was being filled that day. No one claims the moon was literally turned to blood at Pentecost, so it gives us a perfect example of how God uses imagery and metaphor at times in His revelation. There's a lot I don't understand, but I very much appreciate scripture giving us an example of when the apocalyptic language is symbolic. It helps me to let God be God and reveal things I don't fully understand in His own timing.

I think that the early rain/ late rain WOULD be as we would expect. The first month of the year, according to the Bible, is Nisan, which is in the spring.
This is when Passover occurs.
The early rains were God’s blessing on the beginning of the growing season to bring in early crops. The late rains were toward the end of the season, guaranteeing a good final harvest.
The Feast of Trumpets did not become known as Rosh Hashanah, literally Head of the Year, until around 2 AD.
