Come on Gamespot. To be this factually incorrect about it being the first open world Star Wars game is just embarrassing.
Stop saying this is the first open-world Star Wars game. Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2, The Old Republic, and Galaxies all came long before this.
i totally agree with you. and if people say they aren't open world, because you have load screens between planets then the Witcher 3 isn't open world (which it 100% is)

I think this game will be a good surprise and a enjoyable experience . If customisations are on point then the immersion could be really good. I'm not gonna lie I don't like the designs of the speeder bike and the ship or even Kay's clothes so I really hope we'll be able to change all that

Sure it looks amazing but temper expectations remember Cyberpunk 2077, No Man's Sky, Battlefield 4, Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, Anthem, AC Unity, and Fallout 76.

Well it’s an open world game from Ubisoft so I’m not worried about the planets but the space is where I’m concerned if they will make it fleshed out like the planets.
Far Cry is really tired so I hope this isn't the formula.

This game can pull new players to the Star Wars games. It looks quite interesting
I sincerely hope it's amazing, but... it's Ubisoft and they haven't been amazing since Black Flag. I used to at least be able to rely on them making a fun game though and a lot of their recent decisions have put that into doubt. GameSpot needs to start doing research before spouting off things like first open world Star Wars.
Everytime they get asked about the open world they deflect with an answer about story. This game isn’t going to be as open world as people think. Everything we have seen so far looks like it is very restricted uncharted and tomb raider style.
I'm waiting for some awesome John Williams music in an open world game. That will be awesome. Such great musicianship from the professionals on those soundtracks. Dude comes up w/ some awesome chord progressions/structure. Theory ftw.

Space combat and exploration better be good. We haven't gotten any of that yet in these new Star Wars games.
I dont believe the ground to space ship transition is as seamless and player controlled as they are advertising here. Im going to wait and see but I think its going to be an on-rails transition. I also dont believe you can get into your ship and fly around the atmosphere of the planet. I cannot wait till we get to see an hour of uncut gameplay to answer these lingering questions

It's the first Star Wars open world game that has no Jedi
Alot of charaters and every type of enemies better be here. Especially if your up against the empire. It’s ok to have Jedi in here. Franchise? Sounds like they already have plans for another one. I really do hope this is 200-300 hours long. But this time there’s just finished point which is fine.

The nostalgia of the original movies here certainly works for me ! The main character's style does give off a 1980 feel too, imo. Just do not release in 2023 (I have to play BG3, Starfield, etc.!).

I am extremely excited for this game but they need to quit it with the "first open world Star Wars game" claim. The KotOR games and Jedi Survivor beat them to the punch, and KotOR did it by 20 years.
If they're hinging that claim on it being a sandbox with heavy freedom of choice, they need to focus on displaying and talking about those aspects more than this "franchise first" nonsense.
I hope the developers make more open world star wars game in the future

I really hope this is a Star Wars game with as less as possible Jedi/Sith and Rebel vs Empire and just have more lore and universe building stuff.
This could be Ubisoft’s return to the big leagues. Good subject matter plus their advantage in creating big open world sandboxes.
Probably another story where you find out that the main character is force sensitive and becomes some kind of jedi or joins the rebellion or both😒
