I was wondering if you would know about my problem. I recently replaced the water pump and oil seals behind the water impeller. When I put everything back together, the wood ruff key sheared when I went to start it. I replaced it with a new one and now it won’t start. I still turns over but not firing anymore. I’m thinking maybe the key sheared again but not sure yet. I was wondering if you had any other suggestions. This is my first time working on this thing. Do they need to be re-timed when the key shears? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time
There are multiple flywheels used on the Polaris ATV's. They have 2 codes stamped on them. One is an FF## code (FF95 or FF97), and the other is something like '2040K01'. You have to make sure both match the replacement flywheel. They all look similar, but have different timing trigger locations and dimensions. On our product listings we say which codes our flywheels replace.
Is this common problem with 2011 Ranger EFI also ?? I think this is the problem with mine it acts like mags are shifting around .... starts sometimes then backfires sputters just like a 400 Arctic Cat Did yrs ago that had this problem & I replaced with your product !!
Awesome glad you've used our products. I believe that era Ranger had a similar flywheel, though not sure if the magnets were exposed. They could still have faulty epoxy though. Certainly wouldn't hurt to disassemble and check. We don't currently make a flywheel for that application unfortunately.

I need a flywheel for my 1996 polaris sportsman 500
Is that what can be wrong with mine I changed the starter and it still sounds like it’s not engaging and just here a winding noise
Sure could be. I would pull the flywheel and inspect the magnets and stator for damage.
I just picked one up crossing number 3086857. I found the spot that pickup coil uses is in different spot isnt that not right. Throw off timing

No unfortunately we don't make the flywheel for a Predator 500.
