Hi Rotem, I just bought an electric guitar a few days ago. Even though I don't really understand much of what you are speaking about, your passion for music is palpable and infectious! I hope to be able to understand this stuff some day so I can truly appreciate the videos! Thank you!
@@linotom1887 Yes it's quite weird because i won a guitare too but had to pays the shipping. Everytime This Rotem Sivan guy ask me to pay it was something else. So I doubt i would have seen my guitar one day 🤔
Thanks for the video, Rotem. I like the way you move the chord voices to create a melody, it's very cool. Trying to answer the question, in Bb the II-V leading to the vi would be A∅ - D7alt - Gm, I guess.
nuts mate! ate up the pentatonic and arpegio video, now this. Good stuff. The key is understanding what you are doing as well as knowing what you are doing. If I knew then what I know now.. I will be munching on more of your stuff. Thanks
Rotem, some of these Chord Progressions and Phrasing reminds me of Soul meets ECM Record Label. It's Steve Cropper, Cornell Dupree meets Pat Metheny Group, Ralph Towner, John Abercrombie. Outstanding lesson as always. Thanks.
why is it D7(b9)? If i see diatonic chords in Bb major, 6th is G min7, 7th is A min7 b5, 3rd is D min7. so a 2 5 1 according to these chords should be D min7, Amin7 bt, then G min7
@@punkntded You need to think about the chord numbers in relation to the chord you're targeting. For this instance, Gmin7. Your 2 is A half diminished, your 5 of G is D Dominant 7 (b9 leading tone for voice leading) and your 1 is Gmin. Hope this helps.
@@punkntded You could relate it to Bb Major however it's easier to look at it from the perspective of Gminor and using that diatonic harmony. In Bb it would be 7min7b5, the 5/6 or a secondary dominant. So the 5th chord of Gminor (the 6th degree) and then 6 minor. That would be thinking as if it was related to Bb.
Now I wish a Cm7/9b4#5 third inverted would exist so this guy could make a full video about it. Forgot to remember how much simplicity had such of a beautiful impact
Hey Rotem, thanks for making this videos, mate. Really appreciated that these are just out there for free. Did I miss the video groups you mentioned already, and do you offer any other type of full-on courses for sale? Cheers man!
7:38 .... a regular 2 5 one in key of b flat ? C To E to b flat ....but a 251 to the 6th? That would be G , G becomes the one and A becomes the 2 and D becomes the 5 of G .... 7:38
It's awesome that for me you're playing "brazilian music" chords. And as a brazilian I grew hearing there chords and I find it amazing! (/watch?v=SLLaDcXzvZY)
Great lesson. Do you use fixed solfège syllables in lieu of note names (c=do, d=re, e=mi)? I have a student from Argentina who uses that system, and its a trip some days. I came up with a moveable solfège that changed with each key.
@@samcanales3160 Si in the system I learned is either G# or just though of as a raised 5th. Ti is what we used for B or the major 7th. Moveable Do is goofy like that, I guess. I love that there are many ways to communicate the same information, even within something like western music theory.
Just want to mention, I signed up to Patreon just to follow you. It was going great for about a month, studying your lessons everyday. Then about a week ago for some reason Patreon disabled my account. I’ve emailed them everyday since trying to get them to fix the problem, no response. I’m at a loss. I’m tempted just to cancel the membership simply out of gross negligence on Patreons part. Really frustrating stuff!

I'm in the same boat. Been playing for as long as you. How are you getting on with this?
This is unreal Rotem. I've been wanting to mess more with that "Chillhop" sound - this was awesome! Thank you so much
Thank you, you are generous, you really meet music and share it 😊
Thanks again you are really an inspiration to me. I follow you two years ago when you are invited by Paul David
You always have this distinct Rotem Sivan sound

Yes! More chord progression videos please!!!!!
I'm loving this. Fantastic job as always. Very helpful, especially as a different style player coming into this genre.
i owe at least 90 percent of my sound to this man

Hello Rotem. Please forgive my ignorance, but what is a Flying Guitar.
This was a huge upgrade to my portfolio :) thanks!
That guitar´s looking at me like "Please steal me"...
Love it!
I’ve got some work to do!
Bb 2,5,1 to the 6th degree. Amin7b5, D7(b9), Gminor7> I hope this is correct. Love the content Rotem, awesome work. All the best

Two, five, one to sixth degree in Bb major is Am7b5, D7 , Gm
Wow Thank you so much 👐❤️
That would be a B half diminished, E-7 A-. The E-7 can be substituted with an E7 in A harmonic minor scale.
Am7(b5) - D7(alt) - Gm7
Wonderful...
Thanks :)

Am7b5 - D7 - G min (relative minor) works?
