I absolutely love stories like this! Where the paranormal is treated as mundane by the people who experience it the most. Very "Tales from the Gas Station" -esque
Then you have to listen to "I'm a Cryptid delivery man, I keep messing up" next, narrated from Animas, he is a genious in atmosphere, momentum for music and ambiente as well as Lighthouse. Thank me later. ❤
But it's not exactly as comedic, it's more to fall in love with the cryptids. funny at times also but wholesome af 😊

I've only just started this but I absolutely love the mc's complete and total nonchalance at blood covered bathrooms and accidental pet wendigos.
Edit: The farther into this story I get major "I work at a haunted grocery store where strange things happen every day" vibes, with a side helping of I work the overnight at lowes

I thought the same thing and I love it! I even wondered if maybe they were connected or written by the same person for a minute but there's a different writing style so it stands out on its own as well.
this is one of my favorite genres of horror tbh. (the first that comes to mind is "tales from the gas station", but "i work the overnight at lowes" is a close second) i think its the mix of the absurdity and horror that scratches an itch for me. yknow, crack treated seriously.
It really is that mix of absurd and entirely mundane that really makes these kinds of stories pop

the side-plot romances in this story are ADORABLE. chip and sheryl truly feel like they’re made for each other-in chip’s case, that might be literal-and i love the bizarrely wholesome family they have going on with “chip jr” too. lacey and jared? ALSO really cute, and it felt surprisingly natural given the length of the story!!!! i love how she becomes a powerful magic user while he’s out here smacking demons with mops for a hot minute 😭 but he protects her when she needs him, too. i dug everything about this story, but i’m a romantic at heart so i was instantly engaged with those elements LMAOOOO great work from both author & narrator!!

These sorta comical stories are my absolute favorites, i loved the story about Barnaby's and I've listened it multiple times now and i think i found myself a new favorite

This has to be the funniest horror tale EVAH!! As a garden gnome fanatic and a supporter of wendigo sanctuaries (we rescue abused wendigos and nurse them back to health) I identify with every one of the store's employees and guests -- "Clean up on aisle 4; bring a mop".

His voice is a huge blessing, but sometimes a slight curse, especially when listening to an extra long story while tired, or having 999 things to do, 20 of them urgent. 🤦

honestly the one thing I think I hate the most about all these stories is that I always fall a sleep and never get to finish the whole store lol I absolutely love these stories all of them. Loved the story and all the stories you pick, they're not that usual gory stuff and have body and soul. What I love even more is the narration and the variety of voices you can use, not many narrators do that. This story was so much and kept our focus for the entire 2 hours, thanks!

Omg this might be my favorite story so far. I’ve listened to it twice already. This story, the one with the dead bodies named Frank and Tina, and the one where a man just divorced found digging in his backyard are my top ones right now. It was just too much when Sharyl came back after tar lady assaulted Jared and then she proceeds to drop all of the bottles of water onto his legs while he’s down, “haha-oops”

What a delightful way to spend 2 hours! I thought I'd start it and go to sleep to finish tomorrow. But here it is 2:00am and I'm not sleepy at all. Great story-line and as always, great narration. I see she stated that she's working on part 6 so there'll be more to come. And that makes me intensely happy! I can't wait.

The Wife here. I love all these stories Barnaby's Charlie's and the other strange rules stories. You bring life to all the characters and it gives me such a vivid image that my mind creates an animated style series. Too bad that doesn't happen in life so everyone can see what I see as well as I see what their imagination gives them. I love all the falling asleep story RUclipsrs I watch but this is the #1 channel I re listen to all of these stories.
All of them over and over again non-stop.
This is my go to channel! After a few hours I switch to educational stuff and then midway through those come back to this channel!

I think that this is the most entertaining of your stories thus far. If this were to be made into a series, this would be even more amazing than it already is. Reminiscent of "tales from the gas station" and "My property isn't normal." This is so much different than either. But, oddly similar...AND, without a doubt, SOOOOO amazingly entertaining, AND BEYOND FUNNY. JUST LIKE BOTH OF THE AFOREMENTIONED I'd read. AMAZINGLY GREAT WORK GOOD SIR!

@@codenamegordieray6541 No hahaaaa😆there is the ancient Mexican-native way of making cocoa(mayan & Aztec) and then there’s the regular Mexican chocolate you make hot coco with. The hot coco brand I use is Abuelita by nestle. Mexican chocolate is way better than the other stuff, it just tastes better. Hell I’m never going back to the other stuff now that I’ve had Mexican chocolate!
Also the ancient native recipe has more to it when making it and was used in rituals and drank by wealthy natives.
