Absolutely the best video on espalier. Making that top cut is almost never shown, but it is exactly what I am going to do with mine to keep the fruit within arm's reach. Thank you for the great video!
The lower branches should all be developped before you start a higher level. Prune it just below the lower wire and wait 3 years before growing the next level.
I did fine setting up my espaliered apple tree, but when I had several little apples growing, the neighborhood bear made short work of it. He got every single apple off of an established apple tree too.
