The Honda shadow comes with a 17 front tooth sprocket, and 41 ear tooth if you drop down to a 39 tooth gear in the rear you will smooth out the highway ride, and pick up a few more MPH's
Could you have gone with 12 inch bar without any restrictions on your wiring and be long enough? Looks like you got some slacks. I’m looking at converting my intruder for either 12 inch ape or Zbar
Surprised someone would maintain that speed of 80 when the top speed is 90. My 750 (745cc) needs another gear at 55. I can see getting one with a chain and replacing the gear, but 750’s are definitely city bikes!
You may need to get yours checked out ,55? City bike? I take mine on road trips all the time 2 up and doing 80 all day with plenty of power left to go to above 90 and I've been riding 25 years and I have 3 friends with honda 750s and theres do the same as mine stock except for exhaust, my uncle road to Florida in the rain on a 500 of course that was the 80s but my point is you can def. tour on these bikes and its more than enough power and everyone I've ride always goes to 100 mph easily so I would get yours looked at bro cause it should not be struggling at 55, I can do 55 in 4th and it not lag.
I've got a 600 and it'll run at 90+ all day long. Put 11,000 miles on it last summer. If ya have a hard time with 55 ya definitely need to get it checked out
At 55 you should be just rolling the throttle in fifth. I daily drive a chain driven ace. Cold to hot wet to dry. The only concern i have with highway is that being that high up in the revs to hold 90mph has got to be more harsh on my wear so I'll be doing the 38 tooth sprocket. You need to adjust your idle speed and listen to your powerband. Don't shift halfway through the powerband on the gear and you can keep her pretty tame around 70-75mph in 5th bone stock. I've got a 4 degree advance stage two carbs kit and cobra slash backs. So mine sounds mean around town but she's still really smooth until i push past 80mph.
Hey cool Honda shadow nice to see people doing road trips on a shadow
Thanks bro

Wonder if that windshield will fit on a Honda Shadow Phantom like to know where I can get that kind of windshield.
hopefully someday I can do this run .. I did in a jeep but o man I thought about being on the bike
If u want extra gear to lower revs on hihgway just put 36-38 teeth back sprocket wheel.
What risers;did you use? And how tall are your bars?
@@justuploadit92they are 8inch bars and I don’t remember the risers but there normal bar mounts

The Shadows can go 12” without changing wires, will need different cables though

Sorry I don’t have the bike anymore. But I think I have one more Honda shadow video

@@tenzel1231 my 99 Shadow will run 75 MPH all day long. Yea, it’s higher revving than a 1700 V-Twin but that is how it makes power. No biggie to me
