thank you for your in-depth video about this awesome unit, i have bought one recently and i love all those sounds and cannot wait to make the most of it. But i have a main issue; I have it connected it to my midi controller (JUNO `AlpHA 1) the signal is being picked up by the unit everytime i press a key (MIDI red LED blinks), but no sounds is comes out. While i press the Audition button on the unit, i can hear the sounds being played as Demos and can scroll down and hear them all. Any idea why? I am in program mode, am i supposed to check wether there are EXB PCM modules inside it? I guess i expected it to be plug and play style. I cannot work it out and any help would be appreciated, thank you
thank you my friend great work pls put more video on the triton rack pls on all the EXB-board that he carry pls because i think im not the only one who got so many problem with it thank you again good job nice video pls do more on it.
Hi Thomas. I live in uk. Where can i find this Triton Rack in good working condition with or without EXBs in uk at a good price? Also if you suggest a site that sell with floppy disk the EXB. Thanks
The best price you are going to find one is Facebook marketplace or equivalent if your lucky . Outside of ebay you just don't see these anymore. Cheers!
hi i just bought one of these witrh the trance attack and the vintage exbs when i do what you do in your vid my machine loads in about 10 sounds and all the other pathes have nothing in em why is this?
If I physically install several of the EXB slots, can they all be made active permanently? Or are there limited banks such that I would need to decide which to install? Some comments on this strategy would be helpful for a nooby. I think I figured out creating the disks.... format as fat, then unzip, copy files to floppy. My Rack display has lines thru it, so will have to see what I can read with it as is. Would leaving it on for a longer time help burn it in to reduce those lines (anyone run into this)? Thx again.
@@lambertma7071 It’s been several years but I remember literally going on the Internet and typing on Google Korg triton rack floppy disk. The hard part is going to be finding a floppy disk drive and a floppy disk. My recollection is I got a inexpensive USB floppy drive on Amazon
Hello I have a question. I just received my PCM 08 Concert Grand Piano. But it won't appear in my screen when I turn it on. Plus my memory rams disappear wheb i have the pcm inserted. What Could it be?
Mr.Thomas, good day! On my Korg Triton ProX have only 2 place for install EXB-PCM cards. I already installed there "Dance Exstreme" and "Trance Attack". New instruments apear only after I loaded it from Floppy-discs what was together with this EXB-PCM cards.. Do you know, have I chance to add more instruments, performance and etc., if I will just put there floppy-disc what was with another card? For example I will load on my Korg floppy-disc "Orchestrial Collection", without installation this "Orchestrial Collection" EXB-PCM card. In this situation will I add new data to my Korg or it is impossible?
Double check your slots. You should have eight. You might be placing your cards in the Memory Expansion shots. Look a bit south. You will see eight slots.
. I have Korg Triton ProX and only 2 slots for EXB-PCM + 2 slots for 16 MB or 32 MB Memory in downside of sinthesizer . Please look on the photo: savepic.ru/12429878.jpg So, the question still saving: if I installed all 2 EXB-PCM things and the info from them Floppy appendix, can I increase number of instruments if I will put there only floppy disc for another EXB-PCM without installation this things? Just because have not place :0) .
So I searched around. I can not find anything on extending beyond the two slots. My thought is that the only way you could expand more that two at a time would be emulation . Anyone reading this , do you know of an emulator?
I am new to this. I picked up extra ram cards to fill up that section. I was wondering if it is possible to download the other exp pcm sounds into memory from floppy into ram without adding exp cards? Are those cards ROM cards, therefore required? What are they exactly, meaning can you get generic cards and program them or are you required to buy them w the Korg name on them?
The EXB cards are ROM boards containing sample data. The PCG files on the disks contain presets which use that sample data. I have no idea why they didn't store the presets on ROM as well as Roland does, but they didn't. If you were to take the PCG files without having the ROM card it needs installed, most of the new presets would not work since the waveforms they need won't be present. If there are any presets which are made purely using the default waveforms in the motherboard ROM, those should work, but there will probably only be a handful of such presets for each disk.
Thanks for the video! There we see how it must be. But maybe you can tell your minds about my situation, why it is does not work? I have Korg Triton ProX and I made little changes the equipment: I put on the place where were old floppy-room the new floppy-emulator. Now it is with USB exit. Then I get EXB-PCM cards with Floppy-discs and dropt the information from it to the flash-memory. But when I put it on the Floppy-Emulator and pushed "Disk" button I found that System see it uncorrect. On the Flash-card folder is only 4 pcs, but Korg System see there more files. It writing me "no label" in the down point. I tryed to "load" it in System but it writing to me "Memory protected" - something like this. So I don't know why the system see the different things and what me do next to finally install the programs on my synthesizer?!
. Guys, all who meet same problem as me, I found the solution: To Floppy-Emulator have possibility to read the information, empty flash-card must be installed there and in the window "Disk", in the mode "Utility", exactly in the up right corner need to be choose commend "Formated". After that, your Korg Triton made formated this flash-card, you put it in the computer, dropped there materials and then back it to the Floppyemulator. And the System will read the information so, how it must to be! .
Sorry this took so long for me to see. Gaskov is correct. Take the blank floppy and "Format" in the Korg. Then add the files. Then put it in the drive . Now it should read the files.
Yes, thank you. Than I found it, now it work. Important to anybody who get so problem were find our negotiation line. And thanks again for your video - it really help!
I load EXB-PCM 1,2,3,5,6 and 7 information what was on the Floppy Discs and was Error. System worked very slow. And on the place User Songs was loaded some new information. I was screared it and I reinstalled this 2 Floppy Discs what was exactly for EXB-PCM things what already stand in my Korg (04 and 09). And reset system. After that all was working. I try to install some parts from Floppy Discs for another EXB-PCM (06/07). But it was failed. Nothing not apear in the Programs and Banks. So experiment was don and you can see the results.

Hi. Can you make a video on the demos of the different sounds? Nobody else on RUclips seems to be posting them.
Joseph Jacobshagen Yeah I’ll carve out some time and try to show as many of the sounds as possible

Thank you . Are you asking me to post samples of the patches??
Great video thank you
Thanks! Now I know what to expect. No guess work. 😊
It seems like you overwrote internal bank C. You could move it to any empty bank like exb-a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h during the loading.
You know what your right. I had to do a system restore . Then installed the EXB software again. Thanks for the sharp eye.
Oh are you stating there are enough banks to activate all the EXB slots then/upload all the software? Still on my to-do list.... thx
Would a Triton rack work with a Trinity?
As a midi controller absolutely. I don’t think the programs would sync.
The intro song is an original I wrote .
Where can I download the floppy disk data?

will it overwrite the existing factory programs on this c bank?
Yes it will

EG 21 Then my only other idea is to do a factory reset then reinstall
