    Thank you very much for creating and sharing this video.
    Do you still own the Triton and how do you like the sampling options so far?

    • @gearfacts
      @gearfacts  5 лет назад +1

      It's a great sampler. 48Kh is the ONLY option and it's crystal clear all the way :) Gearfacts (and thanks for watching!)

      @@gearfacts You can downsample convert on the Triton after you sample to different fractions of the original 48kHz sample (I think 1/2, 1/4, 1/8). I believe you can repeat the downsampling to get to something very low like 8kHz or less, too. Plus, there's "decimator" fx algorithm to add grunge/grit to samples, if that's what you're after. (Of course, distortion algorithms used lightly can do some of that , too. )

    Thanks for the demonstration. If I purchase a 32MB 72pin EDO SIMM RAM Memory Upgrade from some sellers on eBay/Amazon; does it come with the input sockets for plugging in mic/instrument etc.? Will be thankful for your advice.

      @@ltremonti1 I'm so sorry, that video was never able to be made due to the EXB-SMPL card going missing. It's something I certainly want to do in the future though.

    Man, if the triggering latency on that is good, I might be in the market for one for a beats / pads sample playback device. Especially now that they're affordable. Do they have any M1 sounds in them?

    • @gearfacts
      @gearfacts  8 лет назад

      I've got a vague feeling that I saw a collection of patches on one of the Triton forums that was all about M1 simulation. There are so many patches out there available for free, so I'm sure there'd be something. There may even be M1 sounds resident on the Triton but I've never actually used an M1 so I wouldn't know. As for latency, my first sample had no perceptible delay so it should be all good :)

    Have you made a follow-up video in which you demonstrate the use of the EXB-SMPL sampler card? I have a TR88 with the card; however, I'm not familiar of what one would hook-up to the SCSI or what type of adapter I may need for more modern interfaces. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

    • @gearfacts
      @gearfacts  6 лет назад

      Hmm, if there's an SCSI socket that would imply to me that it's actually the EXB-MOSS card you've got in your TR88. It's just a communications upgrade, not sampling. This is all a bit foggy in my memory though so I'm open to be corrected about any of those details. The EXB-SMPL upgrade will have clearly visible audio inputs. Let me know your conclusions :) Gearfacts

    Hi
    I have seen one Triton LE without EXB but has 32+32 ram on it
    Does that mean that i can’t read SeT with samples on it?
    Thanks

    Do you know where on earth I could find one? Still kicking myself in the ass for absent mindedly bidding on one on eBay with out raising my max bid high enough and lost it.

      You and me both. I'd really like to track one down too, but they are super-scarce. All I can suggest is keep watching ebay. Do a global search, sometimes you can get them from Japan. The only place I've seen them recently is when they are installed in existing Triton keyboards.

      I pretty sure it isn't compatible ...but I'm 5% unsure so I'd chase up the manual on google and have a look. You never know. Thanks for watching Gearfacts, glad the video was helpful :)

      The Triton Classic, Studio, Extreme, and Rack all come factory-standard will built-in sampling (so you already have everything this sampling upgrade card adds to the lower Triton LE and similar models).

      @@gearfacts Nope not really. My tech watched a dozen of them hit Reverb for like $50 a piece. There is also another outfit I learned of who has partnered with PCB manufactures in order to overcome obsoleted boards.

    so how does this sound as a sampler? do the sound warm and lush?

    • @AT-eh2eo
      @AT-eh2eo 4 года назад +1

      its not like the mpc, where you get a "Punch" or specific character from simply sampling into it, but it has a lot of modulation options and effects, giving you the ability to get reallllyyyyy complex with basic sounds.

      I have the Le88 and it actually didn’t come with this sampling board. Nice way for them to keep the price down for people like me who weren’t interested in sampling at the time. But, I’m sort of interested in playing around with it now as I dust this bad boy off. But they’re hard to come by! Any way you’d be interested in selling it? ;)

    • @AT-eh2eo
      @AT-eh2eo 4 года назад +2

      @@pianoplayeh lol Unfortunately the sampling feature is the star of the show in my set up. Have you tried creating patches from scratch? the triton has single cycle wave forms that are a lot of fun to patch like a traditional synth, rather than a rompler that sounds like other real instrument.

    • @pianoplayeh
      @pianoplayeh 4 года назад

      A T oh sorry I meant Gearfacts. My bad, I was unclear. I don’t think the Studio’s sample board would be compatible with the Le anyway. But thanks for the tip! I haven’t done much sound design from scratch and I’m def gonna play around with starting from the waveform.

      Ebay is your best chance. Search international, people are usually willing to post them. Or buy a broken Triton that already has it installed, you might get a bargain.
