I actually do both; task lamp on the big canvas in my craft room and light pad under my snack canvas in the living room where the overhead lighting sucks. My craft room has much better ambient light so I don’t need it, just a little boost from some side light.
I do the exact thing.

I got a lightpad when I was working on a very dark painting and now I'm completely hooked. I use it every time I DP.

At my age not only do I use a light pad. I have to have the ceiling light turned on I don’t have a place where I diamond paint to plug-in a little lamp because I want to try to be in the same room as my husband in the evenings I couldn’t live without my light pad. Also, you mentioned about hitting the power button, I got a little gadget from Bella Art Nicole that you put over the button so that when you put your elbow over it it doesn’t turn it off. I forget what they’re called probably power button covers.🤪
Thank you Shay for your fabulous review! I've just discovered diamond painting about 4 months ago. I've see the DAC light pad on their advertisements, but never in their accessories... so i suppose you'd have to email them to purchase. At first i looked at a lot of light pads.... but.... When I reorganized my art studio to include diamond painting.... i repurposed a glass computer table as my surface and placed a shadeless lamp underneath. It works pretty well.... i just need a bit stronger light bulb. I will still keep the DAC Light pad in mind for the future. Thank you!❤
Definitely team light pad helps so much. I think I may have to get that one. I just have a cheap one but the cord is very short so I have to have it turned and constantly hit the off button. Thank you shay

I am a big user of light pads and I think my Artdot A3 is wearing out abd cord was too short. I decided to try DAC based on your feedback!

Hi Shay! Welcome to Team Light Pad! I didn’t use one for my first DP and it was a very dark canvas. Tried a light pad after seeing them on websites and used it every time since. I am super nearsighted…wear magnifying glasses on top of my prescription glasses, using my light pad and an area with good light. The one you have is great quality. When mine needs to be replaced, will buy the Diamond Art Club one for sure! Take care! 🥰💎

Using A3 but have A4s. Team light pad from day 1. Connector cord adds to its lifespan. Good feature! Others that plug directly into light pad often fail at that point from stress of everyday use, light movement.

I have a light pad from crafty mint that was before diamond art club started selling them. The best feature on it is the fact that you’ve got that little tail to plug into. I’ve been afraid of getting one where it connects directly into the pad itself because I thought may be overtime. It would be like my phone charger and get all wimpy on me.
I love my light pad! The only complaint I have had with mine was the cord length so I am happy to see that DAC took that into consideration. 🥰

That's a very nice light pad! I have one that is larger and has 5 settings, but this DAC one is perfect! I love the size. I'm looking for a smaller one to do smaller canvases and this may be it! Thanks for sharing it with us!

Definitely getting this light pad! But can you tell me some more about that plastic sectioning thing you have? That looks super handy too. I’ve only partially done one painting before but the plastic is kind of a hassle. I tried cutting down to the middle and only lifting the section I’m using then cutting away parts of it when I’m done but what you have going on looks a lot more manageable.😅
Edit: well… I went right away to look and buy this but apparently they aren’t selling this light pad anymore? Do you happen to know why or have another brand you recommend I buy?
