@@VREmirate I'm part of the London Julian Assange support group and have been out with Stella and the kids at his Birthday Picnic in Parlimemt Square.
As long as Assange is behind bars, the western freedom of press is behind bars.
I’m disgusted by all European member states, and especially my own government, who aren’t doing anything against the horrible treatment of Assange and are therefore participants in this crime.
I know we aren’t the popular mainstream here, but this is the good fight and I am grateful for everyone fighting it. Never shut up about Assange.
The complete media silence on this is mindblowing. Really shows that these people aren't journalists anymore, just mouthpieces and activists.

While i completely agree with you, you can look it from another angle: He has gotten stolen years of his life but he is still alive. The CIA killed for much less, the only reason they wanted to keep him alive is to imprison him and get a precedence case in order to fuck anybody up „legally“.
@@abdalabi3617 I feel like part of it too is to avoid/postpone creating a martyr that could (and should, were it to occur) catalyze revolutionary momentum. To your point though, if that precedent is eventually set, that is the official end of free speech in the US. The silence about all of this from corporate media ironically speaks volumes to how complicit they are in being stenographers for power and never actually transgressing the boundaries set by their masters/potential employers. But of course every hand that feeds is bitten if it steals from hungry mouths.

What the UK and the US wish for now with regards to Julian Assange is that as many people as possible are going to forget about him and caring less about whether he dies or becomes mentally ill. So let us never forget what the so called civilized democracies are doing to him and let us hold the British government responsible for whatever happens to him in prison.
Assange is punished because of his commitment to transparency and freedom. This is the most basic reason he must be freed.

If Assange had not broken UK law he would not now be in prison but on bail awaiting the outcome of the US appeal, but no judge is going to give bail to someone who has in the past skipped bail. He brought this upon himself.
