Takeaways from this banlist and the last few banlist overall: The OCG has a format that is infinitely sackier with more negates, floodgates, and maxx c. They’ve also been hitting more consistency cards than the big end pieces, so when you get sacked….. you get sacked hard.
TCG: we hit the floodgates (yes we got 2 back, but they’re monsters and people already play outs to monster effects), Omni negates, and left the consistency cards in place. It feels like the TCG is trying to be a consistent game with a lower ceiling while the OCG is trying to combo combo, but gets stopped much more easily
Possibly but there is 1 far far more important lesson. They'll do anything for their monies.
This banlist would look very different if they had the balls to do the right thing-limit snake eyes and fire kings.

The takeaway from the TCG list is that they only ban problem cards after they've milked it for all its worth.

Dispater and omega bought to be the new synchro line. We also have to acknowledge f.a dawn dragste as this card hasn’t been seen much. Kash fire still can produce the heatsoul line and profits from set rotation and chicken game

i think the thing that made set rotation really busted was the other effect where while you have the set field spell you can't activate anymore field spells so giving the opponent a field they can't activate locks them out of their own field spell for the rest of the duel

Honestly the baronne and savage bans are literally what some ppl have complained about since last year or so. Complaints pn how all these new combo decks end on the same 3 monsters with 3+ negates plus 1 archetype boss.
yes generic extra deck omni negates were a mistake Im cool with omni to some extent but they should be lock into archetypes a lot of cards that have been problematic is do to being to generic
Yeah man Unchained, Rescue Ace, Labrynth, Purrely, Kashtira, Naturia Runick, Ishtear, Sprights, Prank Kids, and Lyrilusc-Tri, were all multi-omni, Baronne + Savage decks. Truly the 4 weeks of full power SHS were representative of the whole game and not an outlier that very quickly got banned out.

Tear ended on baronne + rulkallos summon negate + more, horus decks play ringwurm to make baronne, dragon link is baronne + savage + borrelsword, mannadium ends on baronne + dispater+ chaos angel. Like it all ends on the same shit

I could see a "TOSS 2" turning into a Striker format if the new support cards make Infernoid(which likes using Striker Spells as board breaking tools), Orcust(on the new Striker Links), and the board breaker build of Snake-Eyes that uses Sky Striker cards gets upgraded to a full engine become the main decks of the format.
But Fire King is still going to be pretty good, and Ritual Beasts might wind up the dominant Shifter deck after the new Terminal World support comes out.
When format fill with stun no ommni negate to counter that, ppl gonna complain again😂😂😂😂
I really feel like Summon Limit should have stayed at 3 as long as Snake-Eyes are still a top deck. As-is, we just lost our best answer to Snake-Eyes. They really came out on top this list, I think getting buffed by being able to up their combos, ending on Colossus now, too!

I liked listening to your honest thoughts on the latest ban hits and it’s more of matter of adaptation for the latest YCS.
I’m fine with getting rid of Linkuriboh and the generic Synchro Omni-Negates. Hits on more generic floodgates is a big thumbs up too for not auto losing.
Limited is a good trade off for allowing Protos, Colossus, and Chicken Game to be back.
Listening to your thoughts on Delicious Memory makes me think that Purrely might be coming back as a rouge deck that shouldn’t be underestimated.
We’ll see how 3 Malicious will do for decks that can make Beatrice. Excited for more interactions with the Sky Striker Engine with Engage unlimited.

Colossus is going to be hell to deal with, but I guess Konami just wants people playing more board breakers. Even Winda's fine if you main deck enough non engine to get over her or stop her summon.
Yugioh's a best of 3 game, and while there's gonna be some luck involved (unless you're just a highly unlucky person), ultimately it'll come down to how you've constructed your deck, which is a skill issue.
TLDR of the list, bord breakers going second is more viable now. And guess what deck comes out in Legacy of Destruction

I don't have anything against onmimegates, so long they are balanced around you not getting more negates than cards in my hand and not as easy to make, just so you think about it, circular, poplar, drnm and droplets are the result of these free omnimegates, if your opponent makes more negates than cards you have in hand, how could you possibly overturn the game? the answer konami gave us? have cards that have more effects of course, you have 6 disruptions? I have 3 effects on hand, 4 on field and 3 in gy, and anything advantage each of those cards can generate on their own if they resolve.

Fantastic list, maybe one of the best in a long time
Baronne and Savage hits are beautiful to see, really just wish Apo was on there too but maybe next list. Linkuriboh is is cool because again generic links that only serve to homogenize the extra or skirt around restrictions can get out of here(plus is also a snake eye hit). Summon limit being gone is great and anti-spell to 1 with all the other flood gates basically makes them all unplayable anyway so I'm still happy, even if people still side it ill see it a third as often. Protos I see more as a board breaker than a flood gate and as a flood gate its one of the least toxic but still might not be great, we'll see(also bonus in being especially good against snake eye and especially hard to play in snake eye). I'm a big fan of striker and this is great to see for that, but every single time they have gotten any cards for the last 3 years people have talked about it becoming an engine and it has never happened in any meaningful way and its not going to change now. Biggest miss was Shifter but otherwise pretty clean
Appo is fine without an omni-negate or an attack modulator protecting her. What we actually need to ban next is IP Masquerena if we have to further hit generic going-first extra deck cards
@@four-en-tee Actually totally agree, I still don't like apo but its much less of a problem on its own. IDK if IP ever could get hit because a lot of the community like the card but looking at what the game could be without it is very appealing.

Branded. I agree the puppet lock needs to go (Sanctifire), but the rest of it is perfectly okay.
Runick: I play a Runick Variant (Stardust Bystial) so I would hate to see a hit, but fountian's ability to recur is insane. I don't think it needs hit as hard as the MD list, but limiting Fountain makes sense.

They should remove Omni-negates from everything. Expect for trap cards. Trap cards should be the only cards that have Omni-negates
They should ban all non archetypal trap cards

Nah just remove the overly generic ones, cards like baronne and savage are too easy too setup in too many decks, while something like quasar is only available to select few decks and requires work to get to
As a guy who loves synchros along with links, this hurts.
I love protos being back, but seeing baronne and savage being gone hurts my soul. Baronne is probably warranted, but savage I very disagree.
Nah, Barrone is extremely unwarranted. A couple of years ago sure but now when the majority of meta decks don't even make it and it sees mostly use in rogue decks? That's when I disagree.
In terms of it being a snake eyes hit too it doesn't hit fire kings at all really.

I keep telling people that link-1s that have no drawbacks -- or worse, have a useful effect -- are busted to high heavens.
Links in general powercrept the game to such an insane degree that it's gone beyond being acceptable to just be able to send anything on field to the GY for free, especially on a quick effect tribute.

How different this banlist is from the OCG only proves that the TCG likes to pick different favorites than the OCG. And that irritates me about Konami. And they have a history of this--specifically that Cyber Stein, Crush Card Virus, and Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon were all released in Japan in 1999, but all three weren't released in the TCG until Goat Format or later.
Why does Konami NA have a beef against Dragon Link specifically, a deck that barely qualifies for Tier 1?
Won Worlds 2023 and has been surviving thru the game since 2020.

Soon people will realize banning generic omni negate would hurt rogue and nonmeta alot more than meta, and apollousa is only not there because its getting reprinted, so getting hit next list most likely, anyways have fun getting nibiru'd left and right 😢
Of course it hurts rouge more. That’s why it’s called rouge, it’s always worse than meta and always will be. Rouge decks need to find other ways than generic omni negates to compete, or play rouge decks with better archetypal boss monsters that can compete with meta
I’m hopping we get more support for those decks now that these cards are gone. Otherwise yeh it’s gonna be worse

Why does everyone defend konami's banlist? TCG players are milked like cows and people still defend konami saying the banlist is good. Is good for whom? Snake eye wasn't hit, it's as consistent as before, they still have anima. Without baronne, 99% of synchro decks are food for nib, which is pointless, you can't play around nib anymore
