As far as the deer is concerned, all those shots put food on the table. I have been using .308 for almost 40 years and reload my own. Great caliber. And another great video.
Sure enough brother!!! Shoot if you can send a 30 cal or well, any cal for the matter, into a skoal can wellllllll, that blackstrap is sizzling in my mind before the blood even dries lol.
Yep, dad bought me a remington 788 in 308win when i was 15. I am now im my 50's and that combo has put meat in the freezer every year. I dont even know how many rounds through it. Just keeps knocking them dead.
308 is a great medium sized cartridge that can a big sized if you ask it many deer, elk, bear, moose and probably buffalo have been taken with 308 great video as always👍👍
Yay! New WTW Vid! Good to see you tonight, as usual. Just so you know, I really appreciate your work ethic with all the shorts and so many vids per week. Keep on keepin' on, my brother!
Have a ruger predator that shoots those. 308 coreloks at sub moa. Gave me a beautiful 185 lb buck with 1 shot, totally blew the heart up and dropped him within 15 yards of the shot.
They must have come a long way the last few years. As you know I shoot the Federal 150 Pwr point in 30-06 and it outshoots any other factory ammo I have tried. Now my other rig likes anything Hornady from 40gr to 75gr.. it in 223 and Federal 150 in 30-06. Those Federal 150 will shoot 10 shot 1" groups. Just had shoulder surgery and boy does it suck! Don't know how long it will take to get back to the range. Great video again WHOOTTEEWHOOO!
This caliber has proven its self to be reliable in both military and private jobs. Some calibers come and go but this is one that keeps being a favorite for hunting and range. Thanks again WTW, YA DA MAN 🎥💯👍
First thanks for the premiere, had to come back and rewatch/watch as trying to watch chat and the phone ringing there was no way. Thanks for all the education you put into these video's and thanks for the new channels and holy cow new info stuff I didn't know was happening opened up a whole new world of this boooo-laties slinging. Keep up the awesome video's.
That’s all I use for deer hunting in my .270 Savage rifle is Remington Core-Lokt 150gr and I’ve never had a problem with it at all in the last 20+ years
we call that a minute of deer lol. I just dropped a buck with these rounds in 308 150 grain. Did some damage, went all the way through but left so much trauma the left shoulder was not edible. Shot placement was slightly above and behind the shoulder. 166 lb 8-point
I have used the 308 and the 165 grn core lokt for ever never let me down . I even shoot it in my newly acquired AR10 but will definitely be trying these 150 grn green tips in it .
Seems like that .308 is a little bit picker than your other Rugers! But with that said, although not clover leafing like you prefer, that rig is deer ready all day and twice on Sunday! Another great video, WTW!
I like this, Accubond 150, Hornady 150 SST and the discontinued Winchester xp3 150 all good from whitetail to moose. Again by this I have and use this Rem Tipped as well great bullet.
Hi from France ! When a shooting friend gives me a box of 20 shot ammos, I measure the neck runout and generally I need to turn 1/5 necks of the box . And I don't search for the perfect neck concentricity . Then you have the powder charges and the primer flash hole which is often to rework ...
It has always been great and accurate ammo since the seventies. I used it in 300 Winchester magnum and 30.06 and it was very accurate. I quit buying it when Remington sold out to the crooked crowd because I was not buying from them because I figured they would cheapen it and ruin it.
If you go into many gun stores here in Texas you won't see anything with the Remington name on it. It's not something that I said or started or am hateful about, its a fact.
@@danmccray4789 I am in Dallas and have started to see it in stores again. The new owners (not hedge fund people) essentially started over and Covid didn't help with the transition. Hopefully, they get things back on tract.
308 my favorite deer &hog thumper! Have 2 of em. Both mod70 win. One is a light weight compact feather weight 20"barrel. The other one is a stnls with walnut stock 22" barrel a really beautiful "boolot slanger". You ever tried Hornady custom 150gr ? Their not as fast as their supperformance load but highly accurate in both my mod70s. Hard to find sometimes but midway has em in stock as of right now. Keep vids coming bud you do a great job!
My dad shot Core Locket, my uncle's shot Core Locket, I shoot Core Locket the regular stuff. I will be getting some of the tipped stuff now. I ZERO at 200yds with my heavy barele Savage with 165grn Fuision 5 shots usely touching. I can't wate to try the Core Locket Tipped. My Savage has a H&S persision stock. So does my Heavy barele Ruger M 77 Mark II.
My brothers and I always talk about what caliber is better. I hunt with 270 win , my brother Josh hunts with a 30-06 and my other brother Adam hunts with a 308 win, we came to agreement that they all do a hurting on pa whitetails.
I have not used the tipped but have an issue with core-lock in 308, 150 gr. Two deer seasons ago, good shot and the bullet did not mushroom out. [100 yd shot] Still got the buck but the bullet went straight through like an FMJ. Anyone else had an issue like that?
Hey brother, if you could only pick/have 1 scope for thick deer woods & range time what would you pick? $1000max. I hope you and the family have a good hunting season, thank you.
Great video WTW and the accuracy out of that stock Ruger American is darn good to be honest, have you tried a regular run of the mill 150 grain Winchester round or maybe a Winchester Ballistic Silver Tip? My buddy has a Dpms arms SASS in .308 and I have yet to grab ahold of another semi auto that is as accurate as what I’ve shot with it, I shot 3/8” screws at 110 meters 3 out of 4 and the only reason I left the last screw was because it was holding the target 😂
Whats a good range near Jackson tn I just got a new .308 and im wanting to try it out but everything i found they want a membership and I'm just here for work
I recently bought a Cadwell lead sled. Haven't used it yet. I noticed you didn't have any weight on yours. Personal preference? By the way your groups are awesome💥 no matter what load or distance.👍
I've killed many deer with core lokt but never the tipped. Those all are acceptable groups out to 300 or so. My .308 likes the lighter stuff. I'll have to check it out. Thanks wth.

I'm trying those Remington core lloktt 243 75grain.3375 fps. See if they are really that fast. I'm shooting them out of my HOWA. It's accurate.
I would love to see you test the same bullet vs the 150 grain Core-Lok in the same rifle under the same conditions.
Good idea
The core lokt tipped shot a sub moa at 100 yards out of my savage axis vs the regular core lokt about 2 moa group

Depends where you go
