  • Lake Ashtabula Ice Fishing Multispecies Slam with @ndyakangler - check him out!
    We were trying to go out for some early season pike but the wind and dinky perch drove us to try the usual slow bite on Lake Ashtabula but we had our best day ever out there ice fishing perch, walleye, crappie and even a white bass!

    What's your best multi species day on ice?

    Just moved to Fargo, was looking to see if Ashtabula was any good for ice fishing. Thanks for the video man!

      Its an awesome fishing lake, multi species like walleyes, crappies, perch, bluegills, northerns, smallmouth bass, white bass and even some muskies in there, my dad and I fish it a ton. It gets a bad rap because its a challenging lake to fish because of the channel that runs through it, getting to be as deep as 40 feet. A lot of areas for fish to hide in the channel and thats what makes it a tough lake to figure out. My dad and I caught our biggest walleyes to date in Ashtabula this open water season, a 28 and 29 inchers. My pop and I are walleye and crappie snobs and its a great lake for those two species, it just takes time to figure the lake out.

    Hey Jacob quick question, is your black Okuma bait feeder a size 500 or 1000? Which size would you recommend? I’m thinking about picking one up. I was thinking if I got the 1000 I could use it in both Ice and open water applications instead of limiting it to just the small size for ice. Thanks in advance🤘🥶

    • @JaggedToothTackle
      @JaggedToothTackle  2 года назад +1

      It's the 500 size, I personally wouldn't go bigger for ice fishing but I get the dual purpose for wanting the 1000

      @@JaggedToothTackle ended up grabbing the 1000 size avenger. Here in Illinois where I fish, I’m pretty close to the big lake and I figured the bigger size might play well with deeper fishing and for fighting bigger fish like lakers, whitefish, and big trout. Can’t wait to give it a try. Great vid by the way, you and Matt kill it 🤘🎣

    With 30 pound braid how can you even tell you have a perch on ha geez probably a little over doing it for ice fishing

    • @JaggedToothTackle
      @JaggedToothTackle  2 года назад

      My bait feeders are set up with 30lb braid but that's where the 5lb fluoro leader comes in. Those tip downs drop really easy and those bait feeders just feed lime really smooth

    • @woodsandwater123
      @woodsandwater123 2 года назад

      Their plan was pike...30 lb braid seems reasonable
