I’ve done a bit of world travel and seen all kinds of places people and natural wonders. I took a Rovos trip from Pretoria to Victoria Falls a few years ago and it was, without a doubt, the most incredible travel experience my wife and I have ever had. The country side and wild life are spectacular but what really stood out was the exemplary people, food and facilities Rovos has managed to put together. This company is truly well ran, it shows in the attention to detail from all their employees and translates into fabulous experience for everyone on board. We will rerun 😊
I doubt you will ever return there. Not with this black communist government ruining the whole country! Re the food, I am a European, I found the menus a tad strange combinations.
We took this train 20 years ago and we can confirm the outstanding quality of accommodation, food and sightseeing on the the two night trip. It was beyond "First Class". Pampered from the moment we arrived at the train station in Pretoria to the moment we arrived in Cape Town. After dinner having a coffee and sipping frangelico in the viewing car as we travelled through the star filled night in the Karoo was a memorable experience.

Beautiful British heritage, nice wood interior of these trains, historic buildings, furniture and a touch of 'Good day mate'. Yes, good day to you all, from Melbourne, Australia.
I was fortunate enough as a young man to take this wonderful train from Victoria Falls to Johannesburg. The marvellous suites (wing chairs) each carriage with its own service attendant. understated class is unbeatable. The 1920s dining car. Wonderful food. The thing that sticks in my memory was asking the barman if he had any single malt whisky. "Yes sir" he replied "We have 27"!
Each and every time I have travelled to RSA, I found new wonders and amazing landscapes. I have always said, when our creator was done, he threw everything he had left over onto the horn of Africa. Wonderful, scenic ride on the RR, thank you.
It has been said that every type of landscape and climate in the world can by found in South Africa. Snow, ocean, desert, forest, mountains, flat plains you name it, we have it.

In today's fast life world, it is really nice to see such videos. It shows how lot of good things in life we are missing. Sometimes, just being laid back does wonders. Very nice vid. And please do visit India. The Deccan Odyssey, Palace on Wheels, Golden Chariot etc. are some of the world's most luxurious trains.
I am from India, living in USA from many years now. This is too much luxurious for me... I still enjoy Indian trains, where I can talk, observe and know my train neighbors. It’s a fun and memorable experience. 🙏💐🌻
This is just a luxury train, man... Like our Maharaja's Express Or Deccan Queen... There are many like such in India as well... So I think you have made an odd comparison... But it's great that you still love India and Indian Railways 😁... Great to know that...
In the present Corona days it's not possible to travel, leave alone international travel but not even within your own country. So, it's a best and wonderful solution is to travel virtually. Nice train, nice video. Enjoyed the journey with you. Just because of you, at least I came to know of such a lavish train. Thanks for that.
Lord, the scenery of the Mountain when the train arrived in Cape Town literally took my breath away and I started crying. I was so moved by the Beauty of it all. I have to go, I MUST GO!
Such a beautiful train, I've not really thought about travelling by train before I watched this. Now, for sure, I will take a journey. Thanks for sharing your experience.

South Africa my beloved country. Rovos rail is an extraordinary train experience that takes an epic journey from Pretoria to Cape Town or Pretoria to Zimbabwe. This train is Edwardian style decor and is Highly recommended.
I was wondering why it took 3 days to get to Cape Town until you revealed it stops for the evening sleep time. I personally would like to sleep while its moving. A big part of enjoying a train ride.

'The train station has a small gift shop, the historic building also 'boats' an interesting railway museum?' Beautiful interior of the colonial style cars. Was surprised that it catered to only 72 passengers with 20 cars in tow. I remember in Sri Lanka (Ceylon) travelling in similar beautiful cabins in the 50's and 60's overnight to the hill country, so I could relate to it. It was great to view Mr. Rohan Vos's dream , attention to detail and luxury sets this adventure apart. It definitely is a labor of love and passion. One question is, how safe is the journey knowing the country's troubled past and living conditions?.
I was really mesmerized with this virtual travel. The views are breathtaking complementing the luxury and affluence from food to the train amenities . I really enjoyed it.
