Hell yeah man, they used to be one of my favorite bands and i used to rock out to that album all the time and watch the dvd that came with it. They used to be a huge influence.
Knivens Beast oh I see, non-arab, I didnt see non arab, ja sam predpostavljo da si takodjer Arap, ali ne vidje da pise isto non- tu tako da sam mislio da si zaista arap...
People use the "Egyptian scale" so much in metal, especially in solos, and it is a very recognizable and popular thing--it is so unfortunate that they don't trace it back to the source and find more music like this. Beautifully done. I wish I could convince my friend to write music too.
After about 7 or so years after hearing this for the first time, I think I can say with confidence this is and will probably remain one of my favorite compositions of all time.
@Thousandyearsofchaos Ohhh lol. Yeah i did all the production work and i used programmed drums i.e. EZdrummer. I'm planning on getting Superior Drummer 2 here soon cause it has a lot larger kit and much more functionality.
One of the best pieces of music that I have heard in a long time .... dude please post all three parts of this song .... I need to hear the whole thing ..... friggin amazing !!!
I will visit this page at various times in my life, for the rest of my life no question. As a fellow Hoosier and lover of those Middle eastern sounding scales/modes I have rarely heard anyone do it as well as you man. I'm not sure what you are into these days but if I'm ever back home. I'll send you a nice wagyu steak dinner. Thanks for years of just pure greatness.
wow... it took my breath away! I like Arabic music and Metal, now hearing them together is pretty heavy! I think you are at the right track... I WANT TO HEAR MORE !!!!
I was just looking to listen some arabic metal and found this absolute beast of a song! You blew my mind, I'm glad I found your music. F*king epic. Thank you!
your music is amazing !! i love the opening so much. it's nice to see foreign people play our music. actually i fell in love with arabic music after listening to your songs :D good job
+Foxxyownz there is nothing in religion that says that, but some people believe it is haram. so everyone is free to believe in what they believe is true. as for metal, it's a type of music like the rest. i don't see why you mentioned that particularity about it....
Isslam Abdelhadi I guess it's just playing the instruments themselves then, my mistake. I mentioned metal because it has often been characterized by religious folks as the "devil's music" because of the blasphemous and degenerate lyrics, and as you know blasphemy is forbidden in all religions. Instrumental is fine though I presume.
In this music, I feel the whole soul of the author. So pathetically combined into a single unit: the anxiety and the desire for freedom, power and unconquerable faith. Your work is worthy of applause and high praise. Your place among the legendary authors and musicians. Bravo!
Arabs were present in Spain circa 711-1492. That's almost 800 years. It must have had a huge impact on spanish culture. Although, over the centuries, they pulled from the north, so that influence is most probably more intensely present in the South. Maybe, you, as a hispanic person, are a bit more able to relate to arab culture due to the aforementioned arab influence on Spanish culture. Although, metal and oriental melodies might just go together well.
Arab introduce music and guitar to Spain n eventually it spread through out the rest of Europe. Unfortunately it gets lost in time. So lets cherish those moments.
+Mystizcal Jepp Spot on dude. This is done with great skill and amazing sense of measure. Nothing overplayed, nothing underplayed. These guys have balls!
And before that the Arabs got the idea for the "kittara" (later became the guitar) from the Indian sitar. But Indian music was too peaceful so they introduced the element of mystery into it and then it went on to spain where the element of passion and flamenco evolved. Amazing how music evolves and changes as it goes. Truly music is like an everchanging river taking the elements it has collected with it. over time.
Stephen Harvey it's because it's based on the scales like the Phrygian dominant, Egyptian and Byzantine scales which are very present in metal today. The feeling of tragedy, mystery, and power, and energy seem to come with these scales. Truly fascinating stuff.
Classical spanish and arabic guitar all focus heavily on finger picking. Precision and long but fast riffs Its almost a one to one copy of what we see today in metal. Theres just a lot more strumming in the lead now, usually youd never strum in classical style.
retronax I guess that ones cool. There's also shokran that is similar to Shades of Black since they have instrumental albums. Jeff Loomis is also another artist that's really interesting, and if I'm correct, was one of the inspirations of Matt Zuleger's work.
im listening u for first time you have done great job lots of fusion hats of brother little bit a taste of dream theater also mix up is awesome keep on rock ........love from Nepal

this is BEAUTIFUL. great job man this is the music that I hope to be able to make one day. I love the harmonic minor along with the Phrygian dominant and melodic minor. their hard as hell to learn but I think about making this type of music as my motivation.

For my guitar tone i used a DigiTech RP250 pedal played on an Ibanez RG3EX1, my guitar is the photo used in the video haha.

Knivens Beast da li imas ikakve predstave sta pisem ovdje, koji je ovo jezik ?
From 3:22 until 4:04
From 7:04 until 7:38
Are best parts where i can hear the Arabic rhythm or scale.
At 7:04 it sounds alot like phrygian dominant
Sounds kind of system of a down
@@assaado Well, it is Phrygian Dominant
tbh every beat is phenomenal

we were invaded by the Arabs it is still in our genetics and even the names of some towns and cities have your heritage!!
Very Nice. Very Creative Canadian Metal Head here \m/

I've always thought middle eastern twangs would transition well into metal.
I read somewhere that matal was based off of middle eastern music, this sounds sick.
