Also mixing up Walton and Woolton. North Liverpool you have Walton (Walton Road/Rice Lane area) but Woolton (Woolton Village) is to the south of the city. I listened carefully to try and hear if it was just pronunciation but I think it is really a mix up of location names.
Manchester and Birmingham also have a lot to offer with attractions, but not as world renowned as those in Liverpool---- maybe Old Trafford and The Football Museum, I don't know which city had the St Phillip's Cathedral-- plus the BULL RING MALL in Birmingham. HELLO!!!!!!!!!!!
It just depends what you read. According to popular legend, they are a male and female pair: the female looking out to sea, watching for the seamen to return safely home, and the male looking in to the city, watching over the seamen's families (or "making sure the pubs are open", as a jocular version has it). Local legend also holds that the birds face away from each other, for if they were to mate and fly away, the city would cease to exist. In fact, they were indeed designed to watch the city (our people) and the sea (our prosperity). Another popular story told about them is that they are chained down, for if they were to fly away the River Mersey would burst its banks and flood the city of Liverpool. This is somewhat similar to the mating story.
Friend told me anyone who ever makes some money, the first thing they do is get the hell outta Liverpool. Said it's a right kip which means it's a shithole I think.
My response to that would be, if Liverpool is a shithole then so is every other major UK city. I've been to most of the major cities around the UK and have to say, Liverpool is my favourite and the one I would choose to live if I were to move. Every city has its grot spots but for some strange reason a lot of people always focus on Liverpool's more so than other cities. Could definitely improve in many areas but the very same thing can be said for cities like Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester, Glasgow etc. Despite the usual stereotypes towards the people of Liverpool I personally find Scousers the most friendly I've meet in the UK. Some beautiful places in the city centre and some really nice neighbourhoods if people were to venture out of the city centre a few miles.

The older Cathedral was finally finished, after the new catholic cathedral. The late 8o,s. There was a long delay, finishing the outside wall.

Beautiful city, extremely friendly people. However leave the city centre and its by far the dirtiest city Ive ever lived in. Its a shame really
