This came out in the 90s so it’s pretty impressive imagine the individual frames and times and effort ardman put into his projects the dedication tho is pretty impressive
@@Sventastic that’s not Pengu, that’s Feathers McGraw. He returned in Project Zoo, an official Wallace and Gromit video game that came before Grand Adventures.
So glad it's the ORIGINAL you're reacting to, as a person who hails from the Uni which Nick Park is more commonly associated with (Sheffield Hallam University), I can say I remember the original 1993 version from repeats in the mid 90's and those fond memories lead me to join Hallam's Animation course and earned a good friend and mentor out of ex-Aardman Model-Maker Greg Boulton, Greg's credits are more on Adverts but his name does appears on the video for Peter Gabriel's "Sledgehammer" and Academy Award Winning Short "Creature Comforts". I still fondly remember Greg's amusing anecdote about Nick Park's face mask when animating the dancing chickens on "Sledgehammer".
5:10 It's called an 'abacus', the one they show is like a child's toy version, there are proper ones that can actually be used for calculation. This was the first one I saw, I think it is better than 'A Grand Day Out'.
@@Sventastic They are laid flat and the balls go away or towards you, not from side to side. In this way, they represent the columns of units, tens, hundreds etc. The number of balls closer to you represent the numbers. I hope that's clear enough. Fun fact: the shots of Gromit knitting are often regarded by actual knitters as one of the most accurate depictions of it in all of animation. The clacking, the finger movements, apparently its all spot on
Is this the one that has the original songs that were cut out of it because happy birthday was cut out of the card and replace with something else and the actual one
The Wrong Trousers, for me, is the greatest 30 minutes of media ever produced. The pacing is methodically done to build up to the great finale while never getting dull. Nothing feels like filler. Each scene is expansive and feels like a different environment (not reusing sets), this includes the house and each room, cafe, train chase, neighbourhood, museum and the house. Even the ending of the Zoo + street fading away. Nostalgia is strong for me on this but there's something confirming that this is the GOAT of media for me.

Love your reactions to these so far :) I really hope you'll continue watching the shorts, as well as the full movies they've made; I think they're really good/funny!

When are my favourite childhood shows and the best claymation show ever made. Including it's movie The Curse of the were-rabbit which in my opinion is the best claymation movie ever made. When I was a kid and I watched this episode I was very sad when grommet was leaving and I hated that penguin
5:06: Okay it's called an abacus and pay attention. The way it works it helps with counting and math used back in history as the first calculator. The top beads are the ones, second row 10s, next 100s, 1000s, you get the point. I'm sure google will tell you the rest.
wait this is the original version of the wrong trousers because I saw the caption says at 6:45 how much is that doggie in the window and they replaced that in the final release and the old one is hard to find so were did he get this version from?

Brilliant video! The next short is a close shave! Know i hope you understand how big of a villian pengu is! I also now see I still have my pengu profile pic. And a fun fact! I cried several times as a kid when gromit left his home. It was to sad for me.

just a little bit of a detail the penguin real name is called Feathers McGraw
Nick Parks is a genius for that train chase
One of the greatest chases on film... Claymation or otherwise
Not Pingu, it's Feathers Mcgraw.
But Pengu sounds nice :( (noot noot)

@@thejuiceking2219 that’s awesome. Also, I have this on 📀 with low tone and Aardman animation logo from 1989 to the beginning of a close shave. 🪒

I kind of agree. I think I would have Casablanca as number one, but this is the greatest animated anything ever imo.
it also inspired the truck chase in toy story
