    Interestingly, Jess Oppenheimer, who had written for Fanny Brice, claimed some of Lucy Ricardo's characteristics, like the crying, were inspired by Baby Snooks.

      Yes, that is true. Jess wrote about this in his posthumously published autobiography Laughs, Luck and Lucy.

    Lucy knew and So did Garson Kanin and Ray Stark, the Co producer. Streisand made Brice shine!!!

      I dearly wish there was a video recording of Barbra in her legendary stage performance. At least we have the fabulous movie.
