- In a sordid neighborhood called The Maul in the city of Arenjun, known as the "City of Thieves," Conan hears about a gem called the Heart of the Elephant, hidden in the heavily guarded Tower of the Elephant. Intrigued, he decides to steal it. Inside, he faces deadly traps and sorcery before discovering Yag-Kosha, an alien being tortured by the sorcerer Yara.
"The Tower of the Elephant" is a Conan story by Robert E. Howard.

It is an absolute pleasure for me to show you what I've been up to for the last 3 months; the stories of Conan are timeless, and filled with fantasy adventure that still hold up today. This is merely a tribute from me, but hopefully fans of Conan will enjoy the glimpse into his world as seen through my eyes!

Dude that’s Genndy Tartakovsky levels of good animation. And what a tribute to one of Conan’s earliest adventures.
Yeah, it does, but it still feels like mostly its own thing.
Because I appreciate that the artist went for a somewhat retro feel to the animation but is still plenty fluid and clean.
Just look at when Conan jumps over the canal and fights the white lion and you'll see what I mean.
But someone really should hire this guy and make an animated Conan series out of it.
Man I was gonna say the same thing it looks great please give this guy the green light to start doing his own thing! We need this I would tune in for every episode .I think it would be really great to see a double shot on Fridays or Saturdays one Conan and one Primal back to back it would be awesome at least I think so

Honestly, you're not wrong.
I too would tune into this type of animated show, especially if the directors and such would keep all that stupid modern political crap out of it.
But I do think there'd be a nice little reference to be made.
I know that Primal's main characters Spear and Fang were based off a Robert E. Howard short story by the same name, Spear and Fang.
But what I think would be cool if they just kind of made reference to Spear being an ancestor of Kull the Conqueror, who's supposed to be a ancestor of Conan's.

Big fan of REH and the original Conan stories. Please, please push this into a full fledged show. I am begging you. Tower of the Elephant is my favorite Conan story and it deserves to be treated right.
This artist needs to be hired Frederick to do an entire series of all of REH's stories of Conan!!! This is superb art!!!
The expressiveness on the taverngoers is really great, and the art style is simultaneously fitting yet also cozy in a way I wouldn't normally associate with Conan stuff. Would love to see a full animated version of this story - you deserve a studio.

I do appreciate that as well, as the artist could've just made them super basic, but chose to go the extra mile and give them more personality.
I wish this guy could get some real funding and be allowed to make an animated Conan series or something, because even this short little video is some good stuff.

Thanks a lot! I've been doing it professionally for a while, but this is my first foray in a long time where I've had control over every aspect, including the IP. I also was super inspired when I watched Primal to do my own thing in a similar vein.

@@tonygriego6382 Yes, but there’s still the matter of trademarks. Apparently the rights to those have to be acquired if I’m to use “Conan” or “Cimmerian” in the title. Blows my mind that it’s not the same thing as the rights, but there you go.
Glad you got around the stereotype of Conan being bare-chested all the time - in Howard's stories he wears the right clothes and armour depending on the situation. Conan is no fool.
In Queen of the Black Coast his superior armour actually saves him from death before Belit puts a stop to the onslaught!
@@alainseguin4003 And in a few other Conan stories, the one where he fights the statue thing, in an earlier scene he fights off some hairy tribe, his companions are slain but he survives due to to skill and armor.
DUDE ! wow … omg this is so FIRE I would pay to see a full length feature man . the animation is unique for Conan for sure but it’s amazing and the shots and voices are sweet really . As a true Conan fan I really love what I’m seeing

You’re definitely on to something here. The animation is absolutely top tier and there is a huge hunger in the marketplace for something raw and gritty like Conan. I watched it like 3 times wishing it were a realized show, and I never watch cartoons. Well done.

Some time ago I started reading all the Conan stories, I remember this one, it's cool to see it animated.
The artstyle feels like the love-child of Primal & Emperor's New Groove.
Nothing has made me actually want to check out Conan in the way that this has. This is awesome.
Damnit, Amazon, you were going to make a Conan series, so just let this man direct and animate it and finally turn a profit on a series.
As much as I love Arnie movies I always wanted an adaptation more faithful to the books. Make it an animation that is like much more painterly Genndy Tartakovsky? I'm sold.

Robert E. Howard was not only a great writer but a fascinating man.
Yes and the guy who was working on it, went to HBO & made House of the Dragon, which was a really well written/acted show.
Howard and Lovecraft were friends and would write stories referencing each others works and characters.

Before Kratos, there was Conan. The difference between the two is that while they betrayed their god Kratos, when Conan asks him for help, he knows that Crom will spit in his face. That's why when Conan prays, he says either grant me my revenge or get out of my way.

Liked however it was more based on the Elephant heart story. However it is the most epic story involving Magic as well as it feels(Not is) for me like it interjects with the Mythology Lore of Lovecraft (E. Howard was inspired by Lovecraft and became co-workers and pals)
