Story 5: Everyone sucks except the girl who was stuck in the predicament. Op kinda sucks. But I don't blame him for not wanting to, especially given that it's his clothes. Yes, the gesture would have been nice if he did offer it. But he shouldn't have to feel obligated to make someone comfortable when he did NOT invite over and was NOT expecting. That's his roommates responsibility and the friend who was hooking up. Yall rained too hard on OP. I feel like he did what was most comfortable for him. Especially given that it's his place he calls his home and is where he should be comfortable. But instead his roommate and the girl he was hooking up with were inconsiderate and put him in an awkward situation. Give him some grace from what it sounds like if he's socially awkward or doesn't have many friends. How do you expect someone like him to do something when probably he himself wouldn't have put himself in that situation if it were his choice?

What I'm getting from the first story is that OP expected no one to take interest in his wife and for women to throw themselves at him and really want to be with him. That didn't happen though. As a normie I also wouldn’t let a random person borrow my clothes. His roommate invited them over it’s not his obligation to take care of a random girl. I would’ve hid in my room all night. The girls also ended up staying the night so as the random girl I would’ve left and came and got my friend the next morning.

I practice polyamory/ethical non monogamy and I have seen the first story happen so many times. Men will want to open the marriage and then get angry and often abusive when their wife is the only one getting dates. I have also seen many happy couples make it work. The intent and the attitude going into opening a marriage matters.
Story 6: I LOVE my MIL. Honestly, she is the sweetest woman and I would do anything in reason for her. I would not let her in the delivery room. I gave birth almost 12 weeks ago. You are so vulnerable in that state, so you should have control of everyone in that room. I didn't even want people waiting in the hospital for me. My mom got upset with me because I waited 45 minutes to tell her my son was born. Like updating people was my priority... Next time, I'm not telling a soul when I'm in labour besides the babysitter

The friend & Roomate are the AH's, and taking care of the girl was their responsibility. OP doesn't know this girl, he doesn't owe her anything. 2. Because he doesn't know this girl, he definitely shouldn't give her something if he's worried about getting it back. Morgan sounded perfectly fine with stealing some guys clothes, but OP shouldn't have to run that risk, especially on someone he doesn't know or didn't invite over. OP doesn't owe that girl anything. I'm 28yo and hearing Spencer's takes is really sending me because I used to have that kind of fiery response towards bullshit but over the years I become so accepting of BS in attempt to be understanding and kind. I LOVE SPENCER!!!! OMG, I started crying listening to him describe the husband in the last story. He is SPOT ON!!! I am a mother of 3, and I breastfed all my babies. My husband was like this husband in the story! He is entitled af. He would snore so loud and he slept through the babies crying every night. He would wake up and say "Oh wow, the baby slept really good last night!"...My reply... "What are you talking about??? I was up all night with the baby, but you slept through it all." Morgan!! The movie you're thinking of is the Incredible Mr Limpit. The movie didn't quite work out how you used it as an example because he ended up being much happier as a fish. He found a new hot fish girlfriend, he realized he had the ability to pretty much roar--so loud that he could warn submarines of enemy subs/ships, which basically helped him become enlisted AS A FISH in the US Navy; something he wasn't able to do as a human because he was older and unfit for service. He was freaked out at first but he ended up being much happier and preferred being a fish.
My sons father did a great job at making sacrifices to help me during breast feeding even though he couldn't do much he would still get up with me most sessions and make sure we were okay. Thats not to say i was still exhausted and like that one commenter said by the 4th night i was literally hallucinating. Looking back i thank God nothing bad ever happened to my baby from the lack of sleep we faced. Idk how that guy couldn't man up and sleep on the couch i find it cowardly..
Story 7: i am a trauma and relationship therapist. Unfortunately it is not that uncommon for fathers in cishet relationships to become resentful and or jealous of their infants because they miss being the one to get all of the time/energy/attention/effort…from their partner (pre-kids). I wonder if something like this is going on that is making OP feel like he needs *his* needs to take precedents over his child or the child’s mother? I’m curious about how much time he is spending with his child if he can manage working full time and also do this other major time commitment hobby late into the nights…? When does mama get her breaks? What is OP compromising to make things even a *little* bit easier on mother of his child for one night? I wonder how much happier she would be with himIf he showed as much interest in his child, or his partner who is still recovering from birth while getting her nipples sucked raw every 2-4 hours, 24/7, for MONTHS on end… as he shows to his most recent hobby?? This is not to say that People should not have passion projects/hobbies/specialth interests… or that fathers can’t experience severe anxiety or even PTSD from being a bystander during the birthing process with traumatic births. I remember when my ex told me he had been wearing the same contacts for like 7 years or something and one night, one just like popped out while he was driving and he freaked out and couldn't see for a good bit until we conveniently made it to his mom's house 3 states away where he had a spare pair from 7 years before ....gross. idk how that man didn't get a horrible infection.
This is by far one of the nastiest things I've heard.. They do develop a film of grime over them after a couple weeks 🤢

Oh he was definitely exaggerating 🤣The material they are made of won't last that long. This is coming from someone who, when she was a broke college student, would wear every pair of contacts until they got so worn out they either warped and wouldn't stay on my eyes anymore, or they would just split in half while I was wearing them. I had a non-disposable pair that lasted maybe 2 years max... And that was taking them out once in a while to clean them 😅
i noticed my friend's eyes were super red and when i asked him about it he said he'd been wearing the same contacts for 5 months and did not see any problem with it 🤢 i don't even like the 2 week ones anymore 😩

What I'm getting from the first story is that OP expected no one to take interest in his wife and for women to throw themselves at him and really want to be with him. That didn't happen though. Also, lol at what he said about the colleague. Just because he wasn't her boss and had an open marriage doesn't mean that she'd want his ass. And she didn't want him. In fact, he made her uncomfortable enough to talk to her own manager about it.

I have a feeling it was only introduced by him because he wanted to start something with his young coworker and he said something heinous or wildly inappropriate, I don't think anyone would realistically be so upset to go to HR over being asked out on a date, I mean it's possible but it's not as likely as him being a creepy old man towards that poor woman.

I feel like he'd probably been weird toward that coworker before and she finally said something after he asked her out. Also, it wouldn't shock me if she's closer in age to his daughter than to him. Especially with his brother pointing out that his wife looks good for her age, she just doesn't look twenty.

Story 5: I posed this story as a question to my 15 year old son. HE KNEW what to do, and he's neurodiverant. OP in this story needs some help learning how to have common decency. I'm glad he has is sister to let him know.
Not all neurodivergent people are the same. One person might see it that way but someone else might not. You say he has his sister to let him know stuff. Not everyone has someone to let them know things like that.

As a normie I also wouldn’t let a random person borrow my clothes. His roommate invited them over it’s not his obligation to take care of a random girl. I would’ve hid in my room all night. The girls also ended up staying the night so as the random girl I would’ve left and came and got my friend the next morning.

i don't really think that's the point. find a decent blanket? there are other options. i think one of the challenges neurodivergent people face is making sure to not always let their own proclivities over shadow human decency

Story 5 I don’t think he’s necessarily an asshole because he’s in his own home and it’s not a social setting so he has no obligation to this person that is in his home that he had not brought over and probably didn’t even know was coming over yes he can be polite. However, if he doesn’t feel comfortable giving away his clothes that’s his boundary calling him an asshole for is kind of an asshole move. he grabbed her a free blanket. That could be the only clean blanket in the house.

I practice polyamory/ethical non monogamy and I have seen the first story happen so many times. Men will want to open the marriage and then get angry and often abusive when their wife is the only one getting dates. I have also seen many happy couples make it work. The intent and the attitude going into opening a marriage matters.
Story 6: I LOVE my MIL. Honestly, she is the sweetest woman and I would do anything in reason for her. I would not let her in the delivery room. I gave birth almost 12 weeks ago. You are so vulnerable in that state, so you should have control of everyone in that room. I didn't even want people waiting in the hospital for me. My mom got upset with me because I waited 45 minutes to tell her my son was born. Like updating people was my priority... Next time, I'm not telling a soul when I'm in labour besides the babysitter
There's no reason OP in Story 5 is an AH for not giving her a pair of his sweatpants. As Morgan said, "When I'm in that scenario, I make the guy I'm hooking up with give my friends comfy clothes, then we all get to leave with comfy sweatshirts"
So 1. The friend & Roomate are the AH's, and taking care of the girl was their responsibility. OP doesn't know this girl, he doesn't owe her anything. 2. Because he doesn't know this girl, he definitely shouldn't give her something if he's worried about getting it back. Morgan sounded perfectly fine with stealing some guys clothes, but OP shouldn't have to run that risk, especially on someone he doesn't know or didn't invite over.
OP doesn't owe that girl anything. It would be a kind gesture to let her borrow some, but him not letting her shouldn't make him an AH, he has no obligation to her.

This! I can’t understand why everyone says it the “decent human thing to do” when it’s very indecent and inhumane to make people do things they aren’t comfortable with. OP clearly doesn’t have the same comfort level as others, and that’s okay. OP didn’t force anything uncomfortable on the girl, she chose to wear that outfit herself, and he didn’t force her to leave once the roommate showed they and the gf weren’t about to actually host the girl. Even if I wouldn’t make the same decision as OP, that doesn’t mean I want to force OP to do what I would because that just isn’t who OP is. This whole thing just shifts the blame at OP, who is at least questioning their actions towards the girl, away from the roommate and gf, who were fine leaving that poor girl sit in uncertainty all night.

I'm 28yo and hearing Spencer's takes is really sending me because I used to have that kind of fiery response towards bullshit but over the years I become so accepting of BS in attempt to be understanding and kind. But he reminds me that it's actually really helpful to have people who can help you articulate your frustrations rather than just immediately go into acceptance and forgiveness mode to maintain strong and healthy relationships.

I know someone who had a cryptic pregnancy... she was/is a nurse too. She went to the ER certain that she had appendicitis. Ended up giving birth to a baby girl.

I LOVE SPENCER!!!! OMG, I started crying listening to him describe the husband in the last story. He is SPOT ON!!! I am a mother of 3, and I breastfed all my babies. My husband was like this husband in the story! He is entitled af. He would snore so loud and he slept through the babies crying every night. He would wake up and say "Oh wow, the baby slept really good last night!"...My reply... "What are you talking about??? I was up all night with the baby, but you slept through it all." Some men are horrible, and Spencer described this man so PERFECTLY!!! Thank you, Spencer. I love this man.

I’m currently three days into a break up by walking away from my narcissistic ex-boyfriend. Morgan!! The movie you're thinking of is the Incredible Mr Limpit. The movie didn't quite work out how you used it as an example because he ended up being much happier as a fish. He found a new hot fish girlfriend, he realized he had the ability to pretty much roar--so loud that he could warn submarines of enemy subs/ships, which basically helped him become enlisted AS A FISH in the US Navy; something he wasn't able to do as a human because he was older and unfit for service. He was freaked out at first but he ended up being much happier and preferred being a fish.

My sons father did a great job at making sacrifices to help me during breast feeding even though he couldn't do much he would still get up with me most sessions and make sure we were okay. Thats not to say i was still exhausted and like that one commenter said by the 4th night i was literally hallucinating. Looking back i thank God nothing bad ever happened to my baby from the lack of sleep we faced. Idk how that guy couldn't man up and sleep on the couch i find it cowardly..

Story 7: i am a trauma and relationship therapist. Unfortunately it is not that uncommon for fathers in cishet relationships to become resentful and or jealous of their infants because they miss being the one to get all of the time/energy/attention/effort…from their partner (pre-kids). I wonder if something like this is going on that is making OP feel like he needs *his* needs to take precedents over his child or the child’s mother? I’m curious about how much time he is spending with his child if he can manage working full time and also do this other major time commitment hobby late into the nights…? When does mama get her breaks? What is OP compromising to make things even a *little* bit easier on mother of his child for one night? I wonder how much happier she would be with himIf he showed as much interest in his child, or his partner who is still recovering from birth while getting her nipples sucked raw every 2-4 hours, 24/7, for MONTHS on end… as he shows to his most recent hobby?? This is not to say that
People should not have passion projects/hobbies/specialth interests… or that fathers can’t experience severe anxiety or even PTSD from being a bystander during the birthing process with traumatic births. This is one of reasons why it’s so important for men in modern relationships to devote time towards their mental health. Your partner is not your therapist. Neither is your mother.

Story 5: I'm (the only) on op's side. He is almost certainly neurodivergent, he felt uncomfortable to give her one of his clothes and he has every right to do so. It's unfortunate that the girl was in that situation but it's not op's job to provide to her, I would be mad with her friend who causes the entire situation. Op's sister is totally unreasonable. Let her ( a stranger) sleep in his bed? Absolutely no.
