    Dolphins, Bucs, Jags, Rams,49ers, Redskins, Vikings, Bills, Colts all had good-great talent on their teams...this was one of the great periods to watch football...2015 was the last great time to watch football in my opinion.

    The Dolphins look like they quit on Dan and Jimmy. They didn’t care that both of them were at the end of their football roads. Something tells me that Dan and Jimmy alienated the other Dolphins players. How do you explain a team that had one of the best defenses in the NFL getting tattooed for 62 points? They look like they didn’t care at all. I’ve never seen such apathy during a playoff game. It was flat-out sad.

      Jimmy and Dan were becoming distractions to the Dolphins for years now, and I believe by then they were tired of both.

      I hadn’t thought of that angle previously but it makes sense. Marino had always been overrated and always called out his linemen - “who missed the block??” - and I remember in BOYS WILL BE BOYS the comparison is made to Aikman who didn’t complain no matter the circumstances. He was a guy it wasn’t so difficult to quit on because in the end he deserved it.

      I spoke with one of the leaders of that Dolphins defense and he told me that they were exhausted from the late game in Seattle and when they got to Jacksonville Jimmy made them practice full pads the whole week. He said when Saturday came around they were all out of gas.

    It's just little tidbits thrown in that only the home fans would know that NFL Primetime with Berman and Jackson just so fun and so good. You don't get stuff like that nowadays. It's so dry and robotic.

      Tough way to go for sure; maybe the best one could say is that he walked off the field under his own power (though it wasn't his choice to be benched). That pinched nerve in his neck really did him in, as he couldn't always put the ball where he wanted & some of his passes lacked their usual velocity.

    Welcome to " The Funeral in Jacksonville " for Dan Marino and Jimmy Johnson careers in this bullet riddled game by the high flying Jaguars with Jimmy Smith and Keenan MCCardell and Mark Brunell " Thunder and Lightning " Tony Brackens and Fred Taylor put in major work as they slice the Dolphins left and right in one of the most high scoring playoff game in history as the Sprinklers goes off saying to Dan " Its over" 😊 Dan Marino " Funeral" on this date. As for the Redskins their season comes to an end down in the new " Sombrero " in Raymond James by the upstart Buccaneers with Warren Sapp as they go into a showdown with the " Greatest Show of The Turf" in St Louis in the Championship game as the Jags lost twice that year against the Tennessee Tratiors and get a third shot with Mcnair, Fisher and the Titans in the AFC Championship game at Attel. Jimmy Johnson would be fired after this massacre, and " Dan the Man " retired but Dolphins made the playoffs in 2000 under Jay Fidler. For the Redskins it was Darrell green final playoff game of his Hall of Fame career " The Ageless Wonder " 😊, can't leave out my man " A-Train" Mike Alstott, Warren Sapp, Warrick Dunn, Trent Dilfer John " Lynch Mob" Lynch 😊😊🏈. Back in the day, I didn't catch the Dolphins/Jaguars game (seems I didn't miss much, though I like the Jax Jags...and hey, I think Jacksonville isn't too bad a place), but I caught the end of the Redskins/Buccaneers game. My take on the two games: the Dolphins did well winning a playoff game considering they were circling the drain in the second half of the regular season, while the Jags could beat everybody but the Titans, so here we go. The Redskins/Bucs game could've went either way ("Buc Ball" was a bumpy way to travel, but I thought they were fun, and I enjoyed Shaun King for his 1 1/3 seasons as Tampa QB). I'd say the better teams won their respective games (in one case that's a major understatement).

    The 1999 Dolphins were very good, I feel that if they had a home game or two in the playoffs, that would have made a huge difference for them. They started 8-2, Marino got hurt at some point, lost a few very close games at home to the Jets and Colts to end the season and limped into the playoffs. Last game of the season was in Washington DC, where they lost to the Redskins, then they had to travel all the way to Seattle for the late Sunday playoff game, then all the way back to Jacksonville for the early Saturday playoff game. They seem to have a little bit of bad luck and I think both Johnson and Marino should have stuck around for one more season and try again.

    and then john lynch in the post game interview on the sideline mentioned most of their games were close in recent weeks, accept for oakland who destroyed them 45-0 late in the season, of course we all know in sb 37 it was the bucs who blew out the raiders in that game (boooo.... yeah I was silver and black back then and that whole game was bs and fishy as hell, but I digress)... interesting little tie ins there

      something nobody ever talks about, except me, that "yard short" everybody obsesses about would've just put the titans down by one pending the extra point, so a tie ballgame and overtime is best case scenario, and the most likely one (unless fisher lost his marbles and went for two)...

      @daleva187goligo 9 дней назад

      probably a mistake in hindsight, resting players is never a good idea, they have to be ready for battle at all times in the playoffs, try to stay sharp
      benching brunell probably put his mind at ease and made him just relax thinking the playoffs were gonna be smooth sailing, even if it was subconscious
      a solution for that is they could've easily dug into their depth chart and activated more rbs and some special teams guys and rotate handing them the ball, along with taylor with less carries, with brunell still in there, he's not gonna get hurt handing the ball off constantly every play, it's good reps in an in game situation
