I love Satou, and truly appreciate how fair she's been to CC, especially when it seemed fashionable to deride her. My issue is all her injuries. She's only played 44 games total, in 3 seasons, and her injuries include her shoulder, back, achilles, and ankle. She also had a concussion. But who knows? Maybe there's nothing left to injure...I hope not. She would be a great fit.
@ injuries happen all the time by even “fluke” plays. Already had a full torn meniscus & she got injured playing for Germany & had to have shoulder surgery which put her out 1/3 of the games

Sat toooo Sabally. But there's this thing about injuries. Me no like. I believe that in her career she's only managed to play for an entire season...once. She may be good, hell she may be great, but that won't mean a lot if she's on the injured list. I'm all for her coming to Indiana, and maybe she's just had bad luck on injuring herself. If she plays for us we'll have to see if we can keep her healthy. 😊
Sometimes injuries are do to the lack of strength and conditioning. Our new coaching staff could possibly be the answer to all the rest of our players and her as well!
I agree. Saying that she would like to play with her sister _'in the future'_ indicates that is not her next planned destination. As a Fever fan, I would love to see Satou playing with CC, but I realise that there is a diminishing chance of this happening given what the Fever can offer Dallas compared to other teams. I'm not thrilled at the Fever giving up their 8th pick and a shot at one of the following: Sonia Citron, Ajsa Sivka, Dominique Malonga or Aneesah Morrow. I would like to think that trading Smith, KLS, Berger (preferably Wallace) and their 1st round draft picks in 2026 and 2027 might be enough. But it would be highly advantageous to the Wings to have the 1st, 2nd and 10th pics overall in the 2025 draft.
She will sell lots of jerseys and be one of the fan favorites. With the negotiations, if players get profit from their jerseys, tees - Satpu will make a lot of money.
What I like about Satou is her intelligence and ability to express herself. She is not surly or angry, and that fits in with the highly intelligent, good spirited players on Indiana: Aliyah, Lexi, Caitlin, Kelsey, and others. She would be a good fit for the Fever's culture. Watching her on the vid you showed, I like how she runs. She is not heavy legged or slow. Her movement would be a great asset.
Satou is EXTREMELY active on social media and, to put it nicely, gives off the vibe that she's eager for more recognition. Like, I'd wager Dallas being such a comparatively minor league basketball town is probably half the reason she wants to leave. And yeah, NY is a bigger spotlight. But there's no light as bring as Indiana right now. She'd increase her followers, on every platform, 5 to 10 fold overnight. Gotta be really appealing.
Sabally seems professional, generous in the game with other teammates , doesn't have the attitude of entitlement , can hit the baskets(especially the 3's) and just maybe can stand up and defend if CC is belted by a thug or any of her teammates, next season. Just need to get rid of Smith, cause she just takes up space and is not good for any team, much less the Fevers. I agree with you Coach, Sabally would be an asset to the Fevers. Satou has the personality type that the Fever recruits, culture and class is what they want. She'd fit in great with the fast paced style they're playing now, the only concern would be her ability to remain healthy.
Playing on a great team where you’re respected and have the opportunity to grow and win does a lot to stave off injuries. Look at this past year for the Fever. Besides Fagbenle early on, they stayed relatively off the injured list while other teams had multiple players on the list at all times. I believe Satou will thrive with the Fever, and she will stay injury free, because she will be focused on winning and part of a great team with an incredible chemistry and culture.

I have to disagree that she’s a fit for Indy. She IS injury prone. @ well we in Buffalo and suburbs know snow & cold but not always frigid temps like the Midwest. I know from growing up in Iowa before moving to NY. I went from freezing to a snow globe 😂 but I’d say that 1/2 have generators for keeping 2/3 of house on & I just really like Temi LOL!

I have been in that situation myself when we had an ice storm in 1994 our power went off and we stayed out of power for 3 or 4 weeks, but God still blessed us, because we were able to cook meals on our wood heater in our basement.
Excellent video, Adrienne. In 5 WNBA seasons, Satou Sabally has played 97 games, or 19 games per season. Only in 2023 did she play a full season of 38 games. She's obviously injury prone from head to toe, will likely be cored by Dallas which will put her in a super max contract that transfers to wherever she goes in a trade, and Dallas will be looking for a big return. There's a lot to like about her, BUT, buyer beware.

I also thought her answer about playing with her sister was odd. Saying 'future' was just strange, as if it meant the distant future and not her near future. I don't really want them to sell the farm, however. If it's a Core and trade for 1 year, I'm not sure I'd give up a lot for what could be a 1-year rental. Regardless of what Sabally and the Fever fans want, the chances of the Wings simply letting Sabally walk in free agency, while passing on the option to core her, are slim to none. According to the tabloids, Sabally will likely end up in New York for the 2025 season, because they can offer Laney plus future draft picks. Arike/Laney/Bueckers/Siegrist/McCowan would be a formidable starting lineup.
Sloot leaving the Liberty freed up cap space for Satou. Also, it seems Sabrina personally chose to play on her Unrivaled team. I think she's going to NYL, but I'd love her on the Fever.
I was hopeful at first when I heard about Satou coming to The Fever but now with the injury situation I don't see the long term benefit. We let Temi Fagbenle go and she was injury prone too. I live in Iowa but I guess I'm from Missouri on this one lol.Also I hate to see Indiana give up future picks on what quite possibly turn out to be a band aid fix. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
Sabally is cold! Great handles compared to most Power Forwards in the league so she can create her own shots which. A stretch big with great shooting ability giving the fever more spacing. We get Satou & keep Kelsey, fever are definitely real title contenders
I had read that a team can’t have two cored players…. Which means Fever would have to not core KM so they better make sure she wants to stay before hand. A lot of balls in the air and fever have less trade assets than anyone. Hopefully Satou does want to go to Fever and all teams involved can figure it out.

She was out alot in 2022 and 2023 and 2024, I believe, like half the games for the season. She may be injury prone? I know Indiana will tread lightly and carefully on this if they are in talks.

I think she is going to the Fever or maybe the Sky. Why? First, NY won't have that many assets to give (only Fiebich but no way they are giving her). Also, they are not in the need of a forward so they won't be willing to give much for her (maybe her first round pick of this season and Marine Johannes, if that doesn't work they will stop negociations). On the other hand, the Fever is in need of a good power forward to secured their position as a contender this year. They are a young team so they might be willing to give more future picks for Satou (I can see Nalyssa, this year's first round pick, next year's first round pick and a second round pick). Finally, the Sky has good assets (3rd and 10th first round picks this year) so the Wings might lean on that proposal. We will need to wait and see
I'll ask everybody on this thread: Who would Dallas accept in a trade with the Fever for Satou? I don't see a way unless Dallas would accept Hull, Smith, and their 1st rd puck next year.

She seems like a great young player however...being available for 50% of games is unacceptable... if the fever are going after her I hope they are only going to give a minimum or make a deal with her that will not hurt the team...she would be smart to take a deal that limits the toll on her body....to extend her playing days.

I like Satou very much. However, is she really the "best" option for Fever of they have to give away any draft picks in order to get her? She's expensive - $230,000/year. If Fever could trade with Aces to get Megan Gustafson, her salary world be $80,000/year. If Fever could trade with Mercury to get Sophie Cunningham, her salary would be $190,000. Anybody Fever gets in a trade would be a "rental player" because contracts will end after 1 year. I don't think Fever should give up any draft picks to get someone who is only guaranteed to be around for 1 year. Satou has a history of injuries. She's had an Achilles tear, concussion, knee/ankle injuries, and a shoulder injury that caused her to miss the first half of 2024 season. Sophie Cunningham played through a shoulder injury all last season. Aside from that, she doesn't have a history of being sidelined with injuries. Megan Gustafson does not have a history of injuries. So why is everybody obsessed with trading for Satou if Dallas cores her? If Dallas doesn't core her then she's an unrestricted free agent and could be attractive to hire outright. But if they core her, what will Fever have to give Dallas to get her? Draft picks? Promising young players like Grace Berger? Is it worth giving that up in a trade for a player you're only guaranteed will be around for only 1 year?
Here's my theory based on what the Fever coach and President said on day 1. 1. We want experience 2. We are going to be a mulitple championship team right. 3. White knows Bonner and AT. Therefore, I believe AT and Bonner are going to the Fever which is even better (I think) than injury prone Satou.
If my math is correct, which somebody can straighten me out if it isn't, of a potential 200 WNBA games in her 5 year career, Sabally has missed 103 of them due to serious injuries and surgeries. I wish her all the best, but I just can't get myself comfortable with that risk in Indiana.

Out of 5 seasons Satou has had 1 season playing over 17 games. Just 1. I think she's fantastic but I wouldn't give away the farm to get her.

Excellent video, Adrienne. In 5 WNBA seasons, Satou Sabally has played 97 games, or 19 games per season. Only in 2023 did she play a full season of 38 games. She's obviously injury prone from head to toe, will likely be cored by Dallas which will put her in a super max contract that transfers to wherever she goes in a trade, and Dallas will be looking for a big return. There's a lot to like about her, BUT, buyer beware.

Fever teammates are kind to each other. No one has a priveledge. Just good ball. If you just want to play without all the drama, fever group is the best place to be.
They don't need satou , they need an enforcer... The one who can guard. One who can disrupt offense of the opposing team. Fever is an offensive team
Thinking outside the box, is there a center out there, WNBA or elsewhere, that would fit in with the Fever, and move AB to PF,where she played in college?
I also thought her answer about playing with her sister was odd. Saying 'future' was just strange, as if it meant the distant future and not her near future.
I don't really want them to sell the farm, however. If it's a Core and trade for 1 year, I'm not sure I'd give up a lot for what could be a 1-year rental. I'd much rather see a several year deal if we are giving up Smith and picks.

There’s very few players who aren’t injury prone. Most of those ride the bench. You take a shot at great players and cross your fingers they stay healthy.

Regardless of what Sabally and the Fever fans want, the chances of the Wings simply letting Sabally walk in free agency, while passing on the option to core her, are slim to none. According to the tabloids, Sabally will likely end up in New York for the 2025 season, because they can offer Laney plus future draft picks. Arike/Laney/Bueckers/Siegrist/McCowan would be a formidable starting lineup.
I think she realizes that CC will get her the ball better than any other team. CC raises her teammates level of play. She has a mamba mentality.
Sloot leaving the Liberty freed up cap space for Satou. Also, it seems Sabrina personally chose to play on her Unrivaled team. I think she's going to NYL, but I'd love her on the Fever.

I was hopeful at first when I heard about Satou coming to The Fever but now with the injury situation I don't see the long term benefit. We let Temi Fagbenle go and she was injury prone too. I live in Iowa but I guess I'm from Missouri on this one lol.Also I hate to see Indiana give up future picks on what quite possibly turn out to be a band aid fix. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Sabally is cold! Great handles compared to most Power Forwards in the league so she can create her own shots which. A stretch big with great shooting ability giving the fever more spacing. We get Satou & keep Kelsey, fever are definitely real title contenders
I had read that a team can’t have two cored players…. Which means Fever would have to not core KM so they better make sure she wants to stay before hand. A lot of balls in the air and fever have less trade assets than anyone. Hopefully Satou does want to go to Fever and all teams involved can figure it out.

Satou will fit Fever chemistry. I just read a comment that she has only had 1 of 5 seasons where she played 17 games. Can she stay healthy? What injuries has she had? I want her anyway.
She was out alot in 2022 and 2023 and 2024, I believe, like half the games for the season. She may be injury prone?
I know Indiana will tread lightly and carefully on this if they are in talks.
Although Satou Sabally seemed to be injury prone during her 5 years with the Wings, she didn't have a problem staying healthy at Oregon. Maybe it's something in the water?
The only concern is the major concern: is she durable? What were the nature of her injuries? Can they be addressed by training smarter, or something else?

I think she is going to the Fever or maybe the Sky. Why? First, NY won't have that many assets to give (only Fiebich but no way they are giving her). Also, they are not in the need of a forward so they won't be willing to give much for her (maybe her first round pick of this season and Marine Johannes, if that doesn't work they will stop negociations).
On the other hand, the Fever is in need of a good power forward to secured their position as a contender this year. They are a young team so they might be willing to give more future picks for Satou (I can see Nalyssa, this year's first round pick, next year's first round pick and a second round pick).
Finally, the Sky has good assets (3rd and 10th first round picks this year) so the Wings might lean on that proposal. We will need to wait and see
I'll ask everybody on this thread: Who would Dallas accept in a trade with the Fever for Satou? I don't see a way unless Dallas would accept Hull, Smith, and their 1st rd puck next year.

She seems like a great young player however...being available for 50% of games is unacceptable... if the fever are going after her I hope they are only going to give a minimum or make a deal with her that will not hurt the team...she would be smart to take a deal that limits the toll on her body....to extend her playing days.

I've always thought Wallace is underrated. She is a very good baller, and the only one who defended CC last season. Wallace is a keeper.

Satou said in the future with her sister, if she comes to Indiana Fever, and stays for a few years. Maybe her sister could join Satou in the future at Indiana, and I wonder 🤔, let's not get ahead of ourselves, I hope Satou Sabally comes to Indiana Fever, and Smith is gone. She did herself no favours with her girlfriend, letting her team mates down when playing against her girlfriend, not playing 100%, and she has to go, would like Erica Wheeler to stay because she has potential to get better under the training of Coach White and her friendship with Caitlin and the rest of the team, I think she has mentally matured since last season and will bring more to her game, she is hungry to play with Caitlin and her teammates.
My dream would be to get Celeste Taylor and Satou Sabally. I've always wanted Celeste back with the Fever.
I like Satou very much. However, is she really the "best" option for Fever of they have to give away any draft picks in order to get her?
She's expensive - $230,000/year. If Fever could trade with Aces to get Megan Gustafson, her salary world be $80,000/year. If Fever could trade with Mercury to get Sophie Cunningham, her salary would be $190,000.
Anybody Fever gets in a trade would be a "rental player" because contracts will end after 1 year. I don't think Fever should give up any draft picks to get someone who is only guaranteed to be around for 1 year.
Satou has a history of injuries. She's had an Achilles tear, concussion, knee/ankle injuries, and a shoulder injury that caused her to miss the first half of 2024 season.
Sophie Cunningham played through a shoulder injury all last season. Aside from that, she doesn't have a history of being sidelined with injuries.
Megan Gustafson does not have a history of injuries.
So why is everybody obsessed with trading for Satou if Dallas cores her? If Dallas doesn't core her then she's an unrestricted free agent and could be attractive to hire outright. But if they core her, what will Fever have to give Dallas to get her? Draft picks? Promising young players like Grace Berger? Is it worth giving that up in a trade for a player you're only guaranteed will be around for only 1 year?
Here's my theory based on what the Fever coach and President said on day 1. 1. We want experience 2. We are going to be a mulitple championship team right. 3. White knows Bonner and AT. Therefore, I believe AT and Bonner are going to the Fever which is even better (I think) than injury prone Satou.
Her shooting technique is a lot better than Reese's.

If my math is correct, which somebody can straighten me out if it isn't, of a potential 200 WNBA games in her 5 year career, Sabally has missed 103 of them due to serious injuries and surgeries.
I wish her all the best, but I just can't get myself comfortable with that risk in Indiana.
