I've only recently discovered blogging, but the funny thing is, I've been blogging my whole life to myself, storing away all my writings for my personal read. I think it's time to bring them out to the world. Can't believe I didn't realise this before.

Thank you for your honesty!! I’ve been finding a lot of advise on blogging which says the most important part of it is eventually monetizing it and investing in it... and it just gave me a lot of peace hearing you say the most important thing is the actual desire to write.
I wanna start a blog because I want to have a place where I can write down my feelings and everything ab my life and how I’m feeling.I also want it to be a place where someone can go and read and feel that they have someone who know what they are going through and can connect ❤️
im trying to start a blog to bring like minded people together ,maybe even start a simple podcast as well. you will be surprised how many people would be interested to talk and share how they feel. just remember that you will need to listen to others and not make it all about you. be mindful of others and hopefully the same applies to other people. a delicate balance between everything. not sure what you are after in life, seeing how all I see is everyone wanting material things and forgetting about living and enjoying life. here its a rat race that I can not stand ,I despise and want out of myself. when you stop to enjoy life your living until then you are simply existing and working to send someone else on vacation while you sit and cover your rent and bills . sadly we are dependent on the government if you haven't learned how to provide for yourself. yes I am too. trying like hell to be happy with almost nothing . simple laptop, camera ,phone which I dont even want really, at my age I've now set sights on having just enough money each month to handle nesessities and leave here but still make a little keep going. so now that I shared lol hope everyone is doing alright .

Hi, there. I stumbled upon your video trying to figure out how to launch my that I created with WordPress, which is giving me great difficulty at the moment. You're video gave me such relief. You're such a jovial and bubbly person and your tips are very informative. Your vibe and energy is so beautiful. I only saw this today 11.13.19 so its been a year since you posted. Believe me when I say you are never too old, I wish my grandparents and parents would have kept a diary or blog of some kind. The stories they could recall about what it was like living in the early 1900s, going through WWI & WWII, my dad was in Korea, but they are all gone now and so are their stories. Please start your blog, tell your stories so your children and grandchildren can have them for all time.

I am about to start my Blog. I am late 40s, menopausal and ADHD and have so much in my head on a normal day. I also have plenty of self doubt, nature of the ADHD beast but I have to say the last thing you said about being only one you was fabulous. Thank you! I love to write and I’m finishing school next month. I tried to get a job at a newspaper freelancing. But they told me that they wanted to see published writing first. My last teacher told me that blogging is the easiest way to get something published. However, if it does work out I would love to continue doing it!

I think that now is the best time to start a blog, because of the Corona craze and I truly believe that internet is the future. So people who would like to survive, should start making a blog now ASAP! Because you never know what will happen in the future. ANd it is always better to be prepared. From my experience I think that blog is a must in todays society, and you can make money by writing about topics you like! The next step would be to connect blog with RUclips video channel and by combining those two traffic channels will create surge of free traffic. And when you learn how to master the art of traffic generation, you will be ready for anything. So am very happy you have made this video for people and I think it teaches some of the basics really well. Keep up the great job! 🙏❤👌

Definitely inspired, as a SAHM this is something I’ve looked into and it’s quite difficult finding ways to start a blog without the intention of making money, I’m a firm believer that things will naturally come to you if you enjoy what you do . Thanx for you inspiration!
Looking to start a blog with content of Lifestyle since I have so many likings but also tying in taking the strength courage and desire it takes to create the life you want even though life may throw some curve balls. Through the past two years I have gone through a huge transformation only to rediscover my true self. Lots of people I have connected with over the past few months who have heard my experiences, seen my process, enjoy my content and life I show and have said I need to write to let people know my story. So I am going to start a blog and am of nervous about it. Even writing this overwhelms me because "OH DEAR" where do I start! Except I think I just found my introduction line! That is such a nice video. I am new at blogging. I like to do it. I love to journal. Blogging is a way for me to capitalize on it. I can get more attention for something that I would be doing anyway. The trickiest thing for me is to contain my overwriting habits. I can get a 1k-2k word count before I know it. Then I get all worried that going farther may be bad. When I explain something, I am very thorough about it. My paragraphs also tend to be long. I am glad this video encourages one to do thier own thing. One can write a more wordy post. They can also post when they can as opposed to having a schedule. That is nice. Maybe I should just focus on putting content out. Then with practice I can get a better ideas of what a scope of a blog post is like. I wonder if this works as a rule of thumb. If one can come up with sections of a post idea, it is probably to long for a single post. I like to do many posts as a workaround. Through trial and error, I did figure that covering one monster species is appropriate for one post. Inventing monsters is one of the things I like to do. I did do blogging about it. There is tips for social media. It is something that I have recently started. Twitter is a good site. Instagram is good for photographers and artists, so I don't think it would be good for bloggers. It may only work if said blogger uses lots of pictures in thier posts. I recommend Facebook. It is a great site. I even treat my Facebook profile as my secondary hub. My main hub is my personal website. Facebook is the biggest social media site, so there is a big audience. It also allows for a variety of content to get posted. For those with a Facebook account, my big tip is to use the notes feature. It allows one to post long form writing. It even allows one to post pictures. So one can copy thier blog post and post it on thier Facebook notes. That is what I do.

Thank you so much for this! I've been writing most of my life and I'm just recently trying to get on the internet and into the blogging world, but I've had no idea where to start! I've considered it every few years and then I let my insecurities get the best of me and push it off. I've decided this time I'm going to go for it!! Your video really helped me because I am starting completely at square one! I don't have a nitch, I write about a large variety of topics and that's what made me so hesitant to start because I kept hearing "you NEED to have a nitch" but I felt like that put me in a box. This video gave me the confidence to start a blog which I will be doing later today:)

Hi, Meg!! This was a super helpful video. As a writer myself, I also have some tips of my own that have helped me tremendously and I would love to share them. 1. If you are totally stuck and don't know where to start, write Fanfiction! Seriously, this is how to start out on my writing journey when I was 15 years old. Was I good? Heck no, and you don't have to be! Just write whatever comes up. And I still do this to this very day. I know it sounds silly, but writing Fanfiction took me to write EVERYTHING, even though I don't have an official blog. and number 2. I've been writing for 10 years now and the thought of writing anything and having it be the greatest thing I've ever done is daunting, Don't let it stress you out!! Especially when I was A LOT younger. Now that's I'm in my 20s, it doesn't bother me nearly as much anymore! And I've learned a little trick to teach myself. It's OK if I don't have it all down well. Just starting it if you have something in mind, it doesn't have to be the greatest thing in the world. I hope these tips from me help anyone here. Happy Writing!!!!

I seriously just thought of starting a blog...about...67 minutes ago. After viewing your reasons, I know that it is definitely something that I need to do. Many times when an idea pops into my head at random, I have to go with it. I know when it's a fleeting thought or one that sticks and needs attention. Now for the hard part, the how to. Thank you for posting this video! I really enjoyed it. You answered so many of my questions. During the quarantine, I wrote a "Silver Linings Section" for the Daily Bulletin I posted online for the high school where I work (I'm the receptionist) to keep the students' and parents' focused on some of the good in the world--despite the fact we had to practice being safer-at-home, etc. When the school year ended, I had quite a few people tell me they enjoyed my silver linings and that I should blog. I just didn't know how/where to begin... Watching your video really helped. I'm going to start a blog... Maybe today! :)

A blog is a website (e.g. meg-says.com) and a vlog is a video log (e.g. a video on RUclips = a vlog). It can get confusing because I say 'vlog' for a 'follow me around' video with a handheld camera, and I'd call a video like this a 'main channel video'. The best thing to do is just Google definitions if you're not sure :) x

I have just found it, how crazy is that! Four years later. I have been doing some videos on blogging myself, no where near as well done as Megs but we all have to start somewhere right? I hope your blog is going well.
I follow a few blogs that also have social media and it's great. Because of them and their aesthetically pleasing photos, it's inspired me to start a blog of my own. I've always loved photography even though it's been a very long time since I've taken photos. I haven't started the blog yet. I'm just doing the research right now. I would like to have a blog because I love writing. It would also be a good memory tracker in writing form. I was thinking of having a blog for all kinds of things that I love that would be in separate categories. It will be about travel, the two main amusement parks I go to, food, merchandise, books, etc. I'm still thinking about it. Thank you for the video and tips. I'll check out your blog too. 😄😁

I think that now is the best time to start a blog, because of the Corona craze and I truly believe that internet is the future. So people who would like to survive, should start making a blog now ASAP! Because you never know what will happen in the future. ANd it is always better to be prepared. From my experience I think that blog is a must in todays society, and you can make money by writing about topics you like! The next step would be to connect blog with RUclips video channel and by combining those two traffic channels will create surge of free traffic. And when you learn how to master the art of traffic generation, you will be ready for anything. So am very happy you have made this video for people and I think it teaches some of the basics really well. Keep up the great job! 🙏❤👌

Looking to start a blog with content of Lifestyle since I have so many likings but also tying in taking the strength courage and desire it takes to create the life you want even though life may throw some curve balls. Through the past two years I have gone through a huge transformation only to rediscover my true self. Lots of people I have connected with over the past few months who have heard my experiences, seen my process, enjoy my content and life I show and have said I need to write to let people know my story. So I am going to start a blog and am of nervous about it. Even writing this overwhelms me because "OH DEAR" where do I start! Except I think I just found my introduction line! Thank you for the tips and may this be the beginning of scratching the surface of my purpose here on earth!!

I was advised after writing my first autobio Volume 1 and a selection of poems from experiences in my life,to share my journey by writing a blog and sharing my poetry to start getting a presence on social network. I do have a youtube channel which I have made an introduction video about me. The advice you have given is so helpful. That is such a nice video. I am new at blogging. I like to do it. I love to journal. Blogging is a way for me to capitalize on it. I can get more attention for something that I would be doing anyway. The trickiest thing for me is to contain my overwriting habits. I can get a 1k-2k word count before I know it. Then I get all worried that going farther may be bad. When I explain something, I am very thorough about it. My paragraphs also tend to be long. I am glad this video encourages one to do thier own thing. One can write a more wordy post. They can also post when they can as opposed to having a schedule. That is nice. Maybe I should just focus on putting content out. Then with practice I can get a better ideas of what a scope of a blog post is like. I wonder if this works as a rule of thumb. If one can come up with sections of a post idea, it is probably to long for a single post. I like to do many posts as a workaround. Through trial and error, I did figure that covering one monster species is appropriate for one post. Inventing monsters is one of the things I like to do. I did do blogging about it. There is tips for social media. It is something that I have recently started. Twitter is a good site. Instagram is good for photographers and artists, so I don't think it would be good for bloggers. It may only work if said blogger uses lots of pictures in thier posts. I recommend Facebook. It is a great site. I even treat my Facebook profile as my secondary hub. My main hub is my personal website. Facebook is the biggest social media site, so there is a big audience. It also allows for a variety of content to get posted. For those with a Facebook account, my big tip is to use the notes feature. It allows one to post long form writing. It even allows one to post pictures. So one can copy thier blog post and post it on thier Facebook notes. That is what I do.

Thank you so much for this! I've been writing most of my life and I'm just recently trying to get on the internet and into the blogging world, but I've had no idea where to start! I've considered it every few years and then I let my insecurities get the best of me and push it off. I've decided this time I'm going to go for it!! Your video really helped me because I am starting completely at square one! I don't have a nitch, I write about a large variety of topics and that's what made me so hesitant to start because I kept hearing "you NEED to have a nitch" but I felt like that put me in a box. As a writer myself, I also have some tips of my own that have helped me tremendously and I would love to share them.
1. If you are totally stuck and don't know where to start, write Fanfiction!
Seriously, this is how to start out on my writing journey when I was 15 years old. Was I good? Heck no, and you don't have to be! Just write whatever comes up. And I still do this to this very day. I know it sounds silly, but writing Fanfiction took me to write EVERYTHING, even though I don't have an official blog.
and number 2. I've been writing for 10 years now and the thought of writing anything and having it be the greatest thing I've ever done is daunting, Don't let it stress you out!!
Especially when I was A LOT younger. Now that's I'm in my 20s, it doesn't bother me nearly as much anymore! And I've learned a little trick to teach myself. It's OK if I don't have it all down well. Just starting it if you have something in mind, it doesn't have to be the greatest thing in the world.

I seriously just thought of starting a blog...about...67 minutes ago. After viewing your reasons, I know that it is definitely something that I need to do. Many times when an idea pops into my head at random, I have to go with it. I know when it's a fleeting thought or one that sticks and needs attention. Now for the hard part, the how to. Thank you for posting this video! I really enjoyed it. You answered so many of my questions. During the quarantine, I wrote a "Silver Linings Section" for the Daily Bulletin I posted online for the high school where I work (I'm the receptionist) to keep the students' and parents' focused on some of the good in the world--despite the fact we had to practice being safer-at-home, etc. When the school year ended, I had quite a few people tell me they enjoyed my silver linings and that I should blog. I just didn't know how/where to begin... Watching your video really helped. I'm going to start a blog... Maybe today! :)

I’m such a beginner I needed to know the difference between a blog and a vlog. Great video thanks
A blog is a website (e.g. meg-says.com) and a vlog is a video log (e.g. a video on RUclips = a vlog). It can get confusing because I say 'vlog' for a 'follow me around' video with a handheld camera, and I'd call a video like this a 'main channel video'. The best thing to do is just Google definitions if you're not sure :) x

I follow a few blogs that also have social media and it's great. Because of them and their aesthetically pleasing photos, it's inspired me to start a blog of my own. I've always loved photography even though it's been a very long time since I've taken photos. I haven't started the blog yet. I'm just doing the research right now. I would like to have a blog because I love writing. It would also be a good memory tracker in writing form. I was thinking of having a blog for all kinds of things that I love that would be in separate categories.
