For anybody deciding about taking her courses- they are AMAZING. I bought both of her courses and literally refer back to content from her courses every single week even though my blog has been published for a month and a half. I've already been accepted to an ad agency which I'm thrilled about and it is all thanks to Sophia.
Her courses are expensive so I went back and forth on purchasing them and tried to do things by myself for about a month until my husband bought the courses for me for my birthday present. I am SO glad that he did because there is no way that I would have figured everything out on my own, even with a year or more of experience.

I thought I was going to cringe watching this because I have well over two decades developing websites/blogging, BUT everything she is saying is correct and useful advice for anybody getting started. Although, I will say, if you are going to self-host, take the classes or have a friend who knows web development. A Wordpress hosted site, is going to be a lot easier for you get started, and now I'm wondering the difficulty of exporting all your content to a self-hosted site. Oh, and THIS PERSON IS NOT A HACK because she touts "idiot and always learning" (my first time watching. first video).

What I really like about your site is how it revolves around your lifestyle and your personality. I'm trying to start a tech blog as I absolutely love computers and anything new in tech. I think most of her revenue comes from selling courses about how to make money from blogging rather than the actual blog.
That's one of her revenue streams that makes her probably some pretty good income. But if you listen to any of her videos, especially more recent ones, you can clearly see she makes money in various other ways. And she definitely makes money just blogging considering she didn't start courses until several years after she started.

Fantastic video! The first free educational video I have seen that was actually worth watching until the end!
I'm in year 2 but trying to figure out the best email strategy but I think you should look into hiring developers to create your own email strategy or use cloud based CRM software with AI. It takes a deep dive but from scratching the surface, I think it's the way to grow big. I'm not at that stage yet but looked at all options when I was looking for an email marketing solution. Good luck, I can see it's weighing on you!💕 And this video is great content well thought out and well delivered.

Question: should we set up a formal "business" registration with tax authorities before we implement ads into our blogs? I'm a bit worried about taxation and if this should be something that needs to be handled before you start monetizing your website. I live in the EU, but I suppose this is a generic question for anywhere you live.
Here in the US it depends on if you actually make "real" money. If we make less than $400 a year, then it's just hobby income and you are required to report it, but it won't be taxed like real business income. I don't know the laws where you live. If you start seeing hundreds of dollars per week, you could start figuring out your tax filing procedures. Don't expect this to happen for quite a while though.

It would be interesting to see how much money you take home after expenses, like rent, salaries for employees, AND IMVOME TAXES……I feel you were taking home more in year 3 due to overhead being almost zero….while year 4 has huge overhead!

From seeing the work that she’s been doing and investing into her flip home and other things I think she’s re-investing huge amounts back into her business!!
Just discovering this!! I've been wanting to do blogging for awhile, with huge emphasis on Pinterest, and Affiliate Marketing. But figuring out what to ACTUALLY blog about is where I'm stuck right now. I have so many different interests, that I'm not sure what I'd do. @@vanyvero2007 I always feel like I might know a little about a lot of different things, but wonder why would people want to read what I have to say? And trying to be original. So many blogs say the same things when it comes to some subjects.
It's really hard to come up with a unique idea. I guess that is why so many people have home/design blogs. I don't understand how they have so much traffic though, I find them quite boring :D
