Although, I will say, if you are going to self-host, take the classes or have a friend who knows web development. A Wordpress hosted site, is going to be a lot easier for you get started, and now I'm wondering the difficulty of exporting all your content to a self-hosted site. Oh, and THIS PERSON IS NOT A HACK because she touts "idiot and always learning" (my first time watching. first video).

Great video and all of the gems hidden in there. I'm probably on year 1.5 and am still pushing towards learning everything there is to be a successful travel blogger. Videos like this give me so much hope and encouragment.

But if you listen to any of her videos, especially more recent ones, you can clearly see she makes money in various other ways. And she definitely makes money just blogging considering she didn't start courses until several years after she started.

I'm in year 2 but trying to figure out the best email strategy but I think you should look into hiring developers to create your own email strategy or use cloud based CRM software with AI. It takes a deep dive but from scratching the surface, I think it's the way to grow big. I'm not at that stage yet but looked at all options when I was looking for an email marketing solution. Question: should we set up a formal "business" registration with tax authorities before we implement ads into our blogs? I'm a bit worried about taxation and if this should be something that needs to be handled before you start monetizing your website. I live in the EU, but I suppose this is a generic question for anywhere you live.
Here in the US it depends on if you actually make "real" money. If we make less than $400 a year, then it's just hobby income and you are required to report it, but it won't be taxed like real business income. I don't know the laws where you live. If you start seeing hundreds of dollars per week, you could start figuring out your tax filing procedures. Don't expect this to happen for quite a while though.

Just found this video, very amazing and impressive results! One of the best things that you might not be aware of is, theres tons of room to grow still. I just noticed the websites performance has a lot of room for improvement, I can't imagine the returns you'll get with some small improvements.
I'm a hobbyist programmer and web designer, but I've always been so confused by blogging. I've personally never met a person that reads blogs, but yet some blog writers end up making an absolute fuck ton of money haha. It just doesn't add up honestly. I feel like there's gotta be some parallel source of revenue that makes up the majority of rich blogger's income. Im sure that these parallel sources of revenue were made possible because of their blogs, but are still a seperate income. I've never been one for conspiracies, but goddam this one's got me confused hahaha
