first time ever that cross picking made sense to me, in 44 years of playing....self taught mostly.
Glad to hear that! I hope you’ll find these exercises useful
Thanks Aaron.
Very good exercises. Nice playing and sounding guitar. Which one do you have there?
Cheers
Your practice picking lessons are soooooo helpful. Thks so much for doing these I know the time it takes to make videdos.🙏🙏🙏
been practicing this ever since you posted it on instagram awhile ago. a great exercise for the right hand and developing speed and accuracy. really enjoy your content
Awesome! So glad to hear that. Keep up the great work
Closing comments on personal technique hit home. For years I've tried to change from bracing with pinky and it's always ended in frustration. Also left handed playing right, anti-dexterous.
Glad to hear that. I need to do a whole video on that topic. Thanks for watching
HAHA David Grier is kinda kng of this stuff.. this is fun throwback fro decades ago..agree this is awesome warm-up or excercises.. it does everything you explained here.. very helpful and yes variations angles in the picking hand can be personal and it just takes practice and a good ear training as well for picking tone..clarity..presence even volume from a pick.. it's like the controls on amplifier in a sense
Thank you sir!
You’re the man!
Thank you! 🙏🙏🙏
New to your channel. Great exercises! Liked and subscribed.
Thanks so much! Glad to connect
This is super useful, thanks!
Your wrist when picking is very loose and has a ryrhm. I struggle trying to find that. Do you use a flimsy guitar pick on acoustic or a stiff pick?

QUESTION: Hi Aaron... some confusion on my part... At 6:27 of the video, you mention "DOWN on the 4th, DOWN on the 3rd, DOWN on the 2nd, UP on the 3rd..." But it looks like you are playing : DOWN on the 4th, UP on the 3rd, DOWN on the 2nd, UP on the 3rd..." It appears that the second one is what your are playing: DOWN / UP / DOWN / UP. Is that correct ?? Thanks for your videos they have been VERY helpful !!
Thanks
No prob! Thank YOU
What strings do you use?
That cross picking thing is actually tricky. I keep want to go down, down, up.
I hear ya! Sometimes it’s ok to do that but I tell my students to get the straight alternate picking down first w this stuff. You’ll get it with repetition and time
You're a FANTASTIC follow on youtube.
