Definitely a cool set of mods. Although the one thing I wouldn't like is the use of fences in place of wood, as they're a crafted block, rather than natural like logs. It just doesn't seem right. Besides, that, the rest is good. Thankfully, there's also dynamic tree mods, with varying sizes of log blocks throughout trees for a more natural tree effect.
I'll agree with that, actually. I think it's because Hals is designed to look _built_ rather than generated. However, I will say that they have added some blocks and having log-pole-y things would probably make sense.
hey dude, great content!! however i'd like to know if the first part of the video (especially 1:27, i'm sooo in love with this view) is a showcase of just Hals Enhanced Biomes, or does it contain other mods mentioned later in the video?
Do a Barrel Roll fun fact I'm the first person to have downloaded version 2.2.1; I was sent it directly by the creator after reporting the last bug they fixed
@@Lumegrin One of my favorite things about your video was the natural way you spoke, though more pace consistancy and clarity in some parts would perfect it. Something that I would reccomend would be to have a little bit less dead space in between talking on a fee occasions like around 4:30. A little music would be nice like you did for the rest of the video. A little website that I love for viewing vanilla world gen on a large scale is chunkbase. You can insert a seed and see a map that can also show structures and such. It would have been nice to see a pic from chunkbase around 2:15 when you mention how goofy the vanilla world gen looks at a large scale. It is nice to see examples when you say things like it looks weird and repetitive at a large scale, though you did a good job most of the video. Aside from those things, I loved the video. The chill, not in your face way you film is like a breathe of fresh air when most people are trying to shove vids like this down your throat in 30 seconds. I also liked the shots you have of the terrain, as they really show how pretty the modded landscape is and just give the viewer time to enjoy it. I look forward to seeing more videos by you, and seeing your channel grow larger as it deserves! Oh and to help get the viewers you deserve, try and lighten up the thumbnail and increase the saturation a little bit to show off the terrain. Not too much to hurt the eyes, but enough to stand out as the 1 inch rectangle that is one of a dozen options. Your thumbnails have a pleasing, clean look to them, but a pinch more color would be liven things up. It is hard to make a tiny image that sums up an entire vid, but you have the talent to master it. The text on the image is nice as most people don't read the title unless they like the thumbnail.
@@Lumegrin not really, thought you were a more established channel so was surprised to see that you are still quite small. You punch above your weight, keep it up.
I mean, definitely not Continents and TerraForged. TerraForged takes complete control over terrain generation and actually changes the type. BYG would work, though. I think Hals probably would, too, but as for how well, I'm not sure.
Not sure about _classic,_ but that is some good generation. I don't think it works to compare it with Terralith, though, since comparing pre-1.18 terrain mods with post-1.18 terrain generation doesn't work all that well Also I am a fan of Biome Bundle O' Plenty in addition to Biome Bundle
honestly though BYG cant be considered as Teralith competitors since that mod adds new wood types and new blocks while teralith only gives vanilla blocks while keeping the world alive
I added BYG to try to spice things up more for variety purposes but I see where you're going with that hals and continents still work together without it though; they just don't have quite as much variety
i use terrablender+terralith+william wythers+continents+BOP+regions unexplored+galosphere on my 1.20 mod list its amazing might have to attempt adding this
@@Lumegrin I disagree. After playing with multiple terrain gen mods I'm set on WWOO / Expanded Ecoscapes now. Hal's IMO I don't like how it uses unnatural blocks like fences for trees. If you use the TreeChop mod it also makes gameplay a problem.
So wait, do I have to choose between Hals and Terralith? I've just been using Hals, Terralith, and Continents together this whole time but it doesn't look near as good as your vid :o

The thing to keep in mind, is that Terralith isn't even a mod. It's a datapack that only uses vanilla features in a creative way!
Well... it's also a mod
It's packaged as a mod, too
Definitely a cool set of mods.
I use hals in my LL's Stranded modpack, its incredible 1.16.5 world generation
Neat!
@@Lumegrin good video, thumbnail cathcing and sooting voice, keep it up!
@@Overlyamplified Thank you! too bad I have a bit of a cold, so next video's clarity will be a bit off
hey dude, great content!! however i'd like to know if the first part of the video (especially 1:27, i'm sooo in love with this view) is a showcase of just Hals Enhanced Biomes, or does it contain other mods mentioned later in the video?
The first part of the video is pure Hals
what is the mod were you were going upside down with elytra?
Do a Barrel Roll
fun fact I'm the first person to have downloaded version 2.2.1; I was sent it directly by the creator after reporting the last bug they fixed
i've recently been trying a combination of Terralith, and Tectonic, although the terrain is best appreciated with Distant Horizons, great video
Distant Horizons seems cool but I'm a pretty big Iris Shaders guy so
yeah unfortunately there's no iris support yet @@Lumegrin
@@Iphasmere2 I'll be waiting patiently for the glorious day to come
Absolutely stunning video, you definitely earned a sub from me!
Thank you! Any critiques?
The text on the image is nice as most people don't read the title unless they like the thumbnail.
beautiful modpack its the only one closest to looking like what Minecraft is in my dreams
Thank you
I enjoyed the video quality. Liked, subbed and here's a comment :)
YOOO Thank you!
Any critiques?
@@Lumegrin not really, thought you were a more established channel so was surprised to see that you are still quite small. You punch above your weight, keep it up.
There were some parts where I couldn't understand your english xd is my second language but wow. Good video, waiting for more
I talk kinda fast sometimes
Thank you for the kind words!
Terralith + Tectonic + Continents + Dynamic Trees
Good combo
Dynamic trees is pretty laggy for me though
5:11
thats a train
why's it there tho
@@Lumegrin well its like a badlands right? early western development, trains and badlands go together id say
@@Nibiru_-_Gen_Z_Warlock they do
but trains also go with rails
why are there no rails
@@Lumegrin yeah maybe it isnt a train then, but that's the only thing i can recognize that shape as. if it is a train than its very small scale
I love how you use continents considering it's made by the same person as terralith lol
Starmute simply _cannot be stopped_
honestly i think tha terraforged would look very cool with these tree mods , idk if they ll work togheter properly , but if it does it will be so cool
I mean, definitely not Continents and TerraForged. TerraForged takes complete control over terrain generation and actually changes the type. BYG would work, though. I think Hals probably would, too, but as for how well, I'm not sure.
@@Lumegrin the only thing with hals is that it breakes every surface struture even modded ones and make it very hard to move around
@@fozer... oop
Ngl in my opinion Biome Bundle is still the greatest terrain generation mod, the biomes look great while still having the classic Minecraft feel.
Not sure about _classic,_ but that is some good generation. I don't think it works to compare it with Terralith, though, since comparing pre-1.18 terrain mods with post-1.18 terrain generation doesn't work all that well
Also I am a fan of Biome Bundle O' Plenty in addition to Biome Bundle
honestly though
BYG cant be considered as Teralith competitors
since that mod adds new wood types and new blocks while teralith only gives vanilla blocks while keeping the world alive
I added BYG to try to spice things up more for variety purposes but I see where you're going with that
hals and continents still work together without it though; they just don't have quite as much variety
misnomer discovers train
Create mod trains, anyone?
i use terrablender+terralith+william wythers+continents+BOP+regions unexplored+galosphere on my 1.20 mod list its amazing might have to attempt adding this
now thats a catalog for the ages, try some structure mods tho
that being said i dont think thisll work out too well with your combination
My go to are:
- Terralith
- Oh The Biomes You'll Go
- Regions Unexplored
- Incendium (for the Nether)
Good picks
I'm more of an Amplified Nether guy myself, but Incendium's a good one
Maybe go for End Remastered and Nullscape too
@@Lumegrin Thanks. Yep already use End Remastered, however Nullscape not available for 1.18.2 currently.
@@slamminx3 Not on Modrinth
On CurseForge I'm pretty confident it is
@@Lumegrin Only 1.18.1 :(
saving for when i have an acctually qaulified computer
lol
My favorite combination for world gen are william wythers, continents, and deeper ocean, felt like improved vanilla to me.
Eh, for an improved Vanilla feel, I'm not sure William Wythers' is the best bet.
@@dingbat3440 Never said Hal's is Vanilla
If I had a penny for every youtuber that uses a cassette sound effect for openings and transitions; i'd have quite a few pennies.
great minds think alike
Excellent video
Thank you! Any critiques?
4:41 how do you make the camera when flying with elytra like this? what mod is it?
Do a Barrel Roll
@@Lumegrin thanks!
So wait, do I have to choose between Hals and Terralith? I've just been using Hals, Terralith, and Continents together this whole time but it doesn't look near as good as your vid :o
Nah just add Biomes O' Plenty to the mix
And if you want even more stuff you can add Regions Unexplored and Biomes O' Plenty
Remember these words carefully:

What does it mean? What does a book _do?_ You have to read it to gain its knowledge. Alike a book, you have to _contemplate_ the words in order to understand their true value.
