    I'm using Terralith + Continents + BetterX + River Redux + TerraBlender + OBYG + Ecologics. Also environment enhancements like Ambient Environment, Falling Leaves, This Rocks! and Effective. Makes for the best looking terrain generation I've ever experienced.

    I wonder if we will ever see a mod create realistic biome generation. No matter which route you take for world gen, I've never seen a mod that fixes nuisances like a snowy biome being right next to a beach or a small jungle in the middle of a snowy biome.

    • @Lumegrin

      in my opinion whats keeping minecraft terrain generation down is biomes at all
      i think using a different generation system than just rigid biomes would drastically improve the game

    • @AgelessStones
      @AgelessStones 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@Lumegrin Never knew about this perspective before, can't say I disagree. I remember trying to do some custom biomes and things with the relatively recent datapacks stuff, and found it quite awkward to work with because you have to fit in the biome into all the other biomes and it was really hard to control the size, this may just be that i'm a noob at it though.
      But ye i can see if there were no biomes and instead the foliage and structures/trees changed smoothly depending on maybe temperature and elevation that would make it even more realistic, man the possibilities
      I do still love biomes generally though, when I was way younger and only used to play classic mc on the browser, I remember buying the game just so i would have access to the other biomes, ah the memories

    In my opinion, the best worldgen combo can be achieved with only datapacks and is surprisingly slept on. The order goes this: Terralith --> Terratonic --> Arboria. Obviously everyone knows Terralith. Terratonic is based on the mod Tectonic but made to be compatible with Terralith. Tectonic refines the noise system, making mountain ranges gorgeous, hills smoother, and brings in underground rivers. And finally, Arboria just spices up feature generation with gorgeous new trees, much more ground cover, rocks, and many other awesome new features. I'd love to see you try this combo out because I never see anyone use any of these and I'd love to see some of more underrated devs get their flowers.

    These mods are epic but as someone who plays Terralith generation every week. This is nothing like Terralith. TL terrain has a key focus on realism, using accurate erosion, humidity and temperate mapping to define biome placement, river generation to lead a player to lakes or the ocean, all customizable and so much more. This mod combo creates a beautiful world to explore but IMO doesn't come close to replicating Terralith, they're completely different terrain generators.

    Definitely a cool set of mods. Although the one thing I wouldn't like is the use of fences in place of wood, as they're a crafted block, rather than natural like logs. It just doesn't seem right. Besides, that, the rest is good. Thankfully, there's also dynamic tree mods, with varying sizes of log blocks throughout trees for a more natural tree effect.

    • @Lumegrin
      @Lumegrin  Год назад

      I'll agree with that, actually. I think it's because Hals is designed to look _built_ rather than generated. However, I will say that they have added some blocks and having log-pole-y things would probably make sense.

      @@Lumegrin One of my favorite things about your video was the natural way you spoke, though more pace consistancy and clarity in some parts would perfect it.
      Something that I would reccomend would be to have a little bit less dead space in between talking on a fee occasions like around 4:30. A little music would be nice like you did for the rest of the video.
      A little website that I love for viewing vanilla world gen on a large scale is chunkbase. You can insert a seed and see a map that can also show structures and such. It would have been nice to see a pic from chunkbase around 2:15 when you mention how goofy the vanilla world gen looks at a large scale. It is nice to see examples when you say things like it looks weird and repetitive at a large scale, though you did a good job most of the video.
      Aside from those things, I loved the video. The chill, not in your face way you film is like a breathe of fresh air when most people are trying to shove vids like this down your throat in 30 seconds. I also liked the shots you have of the terrain, as they really show how pretty the modded landscape is and just give the viewer time to enjoy it.
      I look forward to seeing more videos by you, and seeing your channel grow larger as it deserves!
      Oh and to help get the viewers you deserve, try and lighten up the thumbnail and increase the saturation a little bit to show off the terrain. Not too much to hurt the eyes, but enough to stand out as the 1 inch rectangle that is one of a dozen options. Your thumbnails have a pleasing, clean look to them, but a pinch more color would be liven things up. It is hard to make a tiny image that sums up an entire vid, but you have the talent to master it. The text on the image is nice as most people don't read the title unless they like the thumbnail.
